Watson Clinic Women's Center Reviews

Was sent here by my Watson primary physician for a painful breast lump that I found. First of all waiting 10 days for diagnostic imaging was hard to swallow. They insisted I had their soonest opening and there was nothing more they could do. So I waited in pain and fear my 10 days feeling I had no other choice. I get there, all support staff is extremely friendly. The lobby area is dark and in need of major updating. I get called back to a second waiting area rather quickly. Here I change into a white robe the (robes are pretty warn and in need of a bleach treatment) then asked to hang my shirt in an armoire in their hallway. I then shortly get called back for my Mammo. This tech was also polite and kind. Things went smooth and quick. Then I head back to the waiting area for the ultra sound tech. Again that wait was short. Neither one of the imaging techs offer you much information on what they are doing or why. Little to no explanation, I felt as if they were just going through the motions and I was a number to them. They would then just move on to the next. I could tell that the ultra sound was taking quite long, I tried to ask questions voicing concern that I felt something had been found, not having enough information this far on what exactly is going on. She kindly said that the Dr would go over everything with me once we were completed. I get that...but come on!! I also was expecting only one side being ultra sound, but she did both...I asked why are you doing both sides when I was ordered to only do one? Was there something irregular on my Mammo? Again...no clear answer. She just explained that you are new to us so we do both sides to compare moving forward. Ummm...ok. Well she finished finally and asked me to stay undressed and she would be right back. This took some time and it was freezing in there. She returns with Patricia de Leon stating she wanted to look closer to an area on her own. AGAIN!!! I AM GETTING NO EXPLANATION of what she is looking for or why! The Dr and the tech are talking to each other like I am not even there! I finally piped up...asked what was going on. I got a few answers finally...but again no explanation. I had to even ask how the other side looked on the imagines. They only kept referring to the spot they were re-scanning and not giving me full results. There was zero volunteered information given to me! No one ever showed me my images. No one went over the results with me. No one ever explaied the pros and or cons of the findings and recommend treatment. There were findings in both breasts...but zero details were given to Me...the patient! I was then shuffled into a scheduling area to make more appointments still in my robe! I still don't even understand what just happened and what my true findings are. This is not my 1st Mammogram or Ultra Sound, they are never fun especially when they are diagnostic, then you go somewhere looking for answers and hope, then leave more confused! Do not go to this clinic!! They might know what's going on, but they won't tell you as a patient or go over your images with you. Wow! Quick, quick, go! Sad and shame on you for treating a sensitive situation like these can be with such poor care! I won't be back.

Here is what I wish I had known before wasting my time at the breast specialists office: Dr. DuPont will not see you unless you have a very pressing issue, or you are scheduled for surgery. All other inquiries (for example, breast lumps) are handled by her assisting APRN, Sue Jean Jones. To make a very long story short, after my appointment with Sue Jean Jones, I was left with the impression that this woman does not belong acting as anyones medical provider for a variety of reasons. Specifically, her lack of discretion, her poor treatment of important decisions, her rude and condescending demeanor, and her apparent inability to answer questions or communicate options clearly. Maybe doctor DuPont is better, but I wouldnt know because of the nature of the setup. I also didnt appreciate the nurse trying to convince me to have an ultrasound at their radiology center even though I had already had an identical procedure done at another radiology center. That felt like a sales tactic to me. Watson clinic may be known for its quality, but in this case, I felt like my profitability was the primary concern, not my health. Be careful. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Don't go here if you're LGBT. I went in to see a breast specialist for a completely unrelated health scare. She spoke to me about supportive undergarments for my issue (which turned out to be nothing), and when I mentioned chest binders, she became very offensive. I explained to her I wore it because I'm trans, that's how I feel most comfortable. She then explained I was 'too young' and transition is 'too permanent' and therefore shouldn't pursue it, at all, ever. Mind you, I'm in my 20's. When I reported this to the patient advocate, she told me she can say those kinds of things because she 'felt it was appropriate advice for my health'. But her comments had nothing to do with my health. I explained that to her, and she gave me a horrible 'I'm sorry you were offended' apology. I'm never coming here again, and I'm done with Watson Clinic all together.

Everyone here is wonderful. From reception to doctors. They are courteous and caring. They take the time to explain everything to you, and to answer your questions and hear your concerns. Wait time is very brief. The facility is very well designed, with the patient in mind. From the 'Boca Terry' robes, which are soft and cozy (as opposed to the paper gowns usually used) to the clean and comfortable lounges for use while you wait for your test or procedure.
