I am a 30 year old African American woman and I had a tummy tuck with liposuction on Feb.16th of 2015. I went back to work on April 6th. I chose Dr. Brown because he has 20+ years of experience in dealing with larger curvaceous women and knows how we like for our bodies to look. My experience with Dr. Brown was a nothing short of amazing and I will refer anyone that needs or wants plastic surgery. The surgery is painful (no since in lying about it), so be prepared for that. I started out at 314lbs and now I am 264lbs and still losing. My scar is that of a C-section except for the fact that it extends around to my kidneys. I use silicon strips around my waist to minimize my scarring and they work nicely. My body heals very well so even with a bikini on you still can't see my scar. I was able to stand up straight in about 2.5 weeks and I have been exercising since 4 week post-op. I only do cardio exercises because my mid-section is still too tender to work out.The biggest concern with any surgery is your recovery time and how your body will heal. It is imperative to do the research and not put unrealistic time frames on your healing. Most people see celebrities have surgery on television and then we see them up and healed. The show isn't long enough to show their recovery so it is important for you to keep that in mind when you are trying to decide whether or not to have surgery. Also, make sure you have a solid support system that will help you with daily living activities as they will be challenging during the first month after your procedure.Overall, I love my results and so does my husband. My body looks very nice and I receive compliments daily on how well the results turned out. I didn't know I was this curvy until I saw Dr. Brown!
