I found Dr. Congdon to be very short and somewhat rude if you questioned anything he tells you or needed more clarification. His bedside manner is very poor, and he is very impatient with you. He did my deviated septum surgery and said that it looked good afterward. He also at the same did surgery to open my nasal airways. He said one passage was 70% closed and the other was 40% closed and that I was a perfect candidate for this surgery. That procedure did not help at all, and when i questioned why I wasn't breathing better, he recommended going back in for more surgery on both nasal passages. If he didn't do it right the first, why would I let him do it again?

Had a deviated septum him corrected in 2019, I now can breath through my nose and my allergies have gone down. They did NOT pack my nose, only 2 stents that got removed after 1 week!

I had a problem with a skin cancer in my ear. Doctor Congdon fixed it by removing the cancerous spot. A short time after a spot started to bleed & I called to get help. Doctor responded quickly with help. I had a followup appointment & everyone in the office were so pleasant and helpful. I would recommend them any time that the need arises with a need for their services.

Tried a new nose procedure that Dr. Congdon said would be a an option for me. It kept me out of the OR which was great. This is a short minimally invasive procedure that can be done in the office. It uses low energy radiofrequency to reshape the nose cartilage to get more air. I like Dr. Congdon, he is straight to the point, no small talk and gives you your options.

I recently had a sinuplasty procedure performed here. Dr. Congdon and the nurses/techs that helped with the procedure were excellent, not only in the procedure, but making sure I was comfortable. However, the staff scheduling the procedure and making the day-to-day contact with clients needs improvement. There was a poor job of ensuring I was ready for the procedure (apparently I was supposed to pick up my own anesthetic but didn't find that out until the day before?!). Also, don't expect a friendly greeting when calling the office or visiting the front desk. The ladies working with clients need some serious improvement on their outward facing attitudes if they want ratings to improve. All-in-all, the procedure and level of care was great, but client relations need some noted improvement!

Dr. congdon performed my son's ear tube surgery and was extremely professional to help ensure everything was taken care of.Trish assisted with a procedure to have a syst removed. Trish and her staff were very caring and helped me understand the entire process.Highly recommend this office and staff!!

I have been to Dr. Congdon since I was about 17 and had a broken nose. Since he has fixed that, done sinoplasy surgery to help alleviate migraines and sinus pressure. He walked me through everything he has done and follow up has been good ever since. Recommend for the simple and not so simple procedures.

Dr. Congdon has been our family's ENT, Allergy and Skin Cancer physician for over a decade. Not only is he only of the best practitioners and surgeons in his field, I can think of no one I would rather have operate on my family. The surgical work he has performed on my wife for her skin is impeccable. The Cedar Valley is fortunate to have such an excellent surgeon practicing medicine so close to home.

I followed Meg Heatley, Physicians Assistant, to Dr. Congdons office. She is THE best dermatologist (Ill call her that even though shes a PA because she is better than any dermatologist Ive ever seen - and typically I wont settle for anything less than the M.D.). I go regularly for full-body skin checks and have had many suspicious moles removed as a precautionary measure. Meg doesnt take chances, and I so appreciate her discernment. One time she sent me to Dr. Congdon, Plastic Surgeon, when the mole removal was facial. I appreciated her recognizing he was the one for the job. I do have a suggestion for their office: Something just doesnt feel right about sitting up in a chair for full-body skin checks and mole removal. Its kind of awkward and would feel more professional if there were tables. Sitting up for these exams and procedures is a reminder that this place started out as plastic surgery and ENT. When I recommend friends and family to their office for dermatology, I always feel I need to explain about the setup. I believe they added dermatology when Meg arrived (they have since added more dermatology staff). I did ask about this at my recent appointment, and was told the chairs do lay back, but they havent used them like that at any of my appointments, and I dont want to have to ask. I think it would feel like not using the right tool for the job. This place, and Meg, are pretty awesome, so Im hopeful they will consider this suggestion!

Dr Congdon, he has very poor communication skills, He is simply rude, no bedside manners,he is not happy at all to answer our questions and concerns, we are very disappointed

I'm not even a patient - I had the complete displeasure of speaking with the rude, insolent and intolerable LaDonna at his office because they were looking for my spouse to discuss an upcoming event. Iowa Nice? Hardly.

So when I read the reviews I was a little nervous to bring my little girl to him to get tubes. I AM GLAD I WENT TO HIM! Dr. Congdon and his staff were AWESOME!He explained everything thoroughly and answered all of our questions. His staff is also awesome. They followed up on us frequently to make sure we were comfortable and didnt need anything.Great experience and I highly recommend him. He has made a lifelong customer (should we ever need him again!) and advocate!

Rudest doctor I have ever met in my life. This man is grabbing you face and yanking it around, he is having his assistance throwing papers at you left and right to sign without even discussing what he is doing. He has no ability to talk to his patient what so ever! I dont care what degree this man has, he needs a lesson on people skills.

Had scheduled a tonsillectomy 2 months prior to the surgery then 5 days before the surgery was supposed to happen the office called to tell me that age is a problem and I needed to be seen at the university of Iowa. This is after Ive done the lab work, physical, and taken time off work. The only explanation was I was too old, Im only 26. The day they set up the appt they knew my age why would they wait so long. Theyve completed wasted my time.

If I could show a picture of my nose 2 years post op from this doctor I could help save some people. I have to live with this horrible nose he botched so incredibly bad, every day. Breathing isnt normal either. Dont go to this doctor.
