Jinah treated the spider veins on my legs with a laser treatment. She explained everything she was doing throughout the session. I had a appointment with podiatry. I thought I'd stop by the snack, coffee, drink place maybe a cafe. So I did I ordered a a smoothie and and she put it in a paper coffee cup with a coffee plastic top . She didn't give me a straw so I asked . She gave me a paper one. Which didn't fit the hole than I didn't taste it until I was driving home . All of a sudden I had pieces of plastic in my drink the strw sofen than I got home empty it in my sink pepieces of big placices than you charging people 1.59 for plastic straw that's wrong . The worry is the plastic in my drink so that's my complaints.

Dawn with cardiology is amazing! I have been having issues getting scheduled for some test to get cleared for surgery. When she heard this and the next appt wasnt until 12 days later, she took on herself to make some additional calls to try and get me seen sooner through other means. This resulted in additional calls to my primary care, TriCare and Methodist hospital (who hasnt been helpful). Multiple calls with her have been very professional, great customer service and great attitude even though we were running into road blocks. I felt heard and cared for which I had started to feel blown off in the care leading up to this point. Thank you Dawn!

I have severe Menier's Disease. I was scheduled with Dr Matt Goes in their PT Clinic. Since I was confused as to why they wanted me scheduled with Anna DeWaay, I asked to keep my schedule with Matt to get started with my PT then change over to Anna going forward. Well to all of our surprise, Matt was only able to handle the Vertigo side of things, but since my condition changed from Severe Vertigo to Severe Menier's since January of 2019. We had to switch PT Dr's & reschedule. Hence Anna DeWaay. Everyone was extremely nice. Including their front desk workers. Even though I felt soo embarrassed about the confusion of why they were talking about Anna DeWaay on my VM. Now we all understood why. They were very understanding, never put blame no matter how many times I apologized for the confusion. My ENT Specialist only sent over that 'I HAD' severe Vertigo, not that my condition changed to severe Menier's Disease. I'll always recommend this place to everyone who has my situation. They're soo understanding. Very patient. Willing to help get to the bottom of this & get you back on your feet the absolute best way they can in the most safest way. I'm soo happy my health insurance accepts them, cuz I sure need them in most worst way, yet a blessing too!

I have been unable to get someone to return my phone calls from the Urology Dept regarding tests and reports they ordered. I personally dropped off results they claimed they never received from the provider that I was able to obtain on line. After several attempts to get a response I went into my regular Dr. who was able to refer me to the Urology Center where the previous Doctors that left Iowa Clinic have now reestablished their practice and was able to schedule an appointment immediately.

After researching where to have my circumcision done, I had decided on the Iowa Clinic based on previous customers success. Then I found out about Zaw Zaw, a Burmese man who went into Iowa Clinic for a circumcision and came out with a vasectomy! A jury just awarded him 2 Million dollars, look it up! I called Iowa Clinic to cancel immediately. After some reflection I have decided to re-enlist with Iowa Clinic, deciding that I also need a vasectomy, and that maybe I'll get a freebie with their track record!

Everyone I have worked with and seen there have been nice and personable, however the scheduling and results communication is lacking. I saw a pulmonologist back in August, at which time he scheduled a sleep study. I was told I would be contacted to set up that appointment. That never happened. Instead I had to call at least 3 times and was finally scheduled for October 24, nearly 2 months later. I do the at home sleep study, wait another couple weeks. No Calls. I finally got a call back on November 11 with my results with sleep apnea. Because it's taken me 3 months to get this entire process completed, I will get the machine this month and then have to turn around and start my deductible all over again in January to the tune of $110/month. I am happy with the care I received but unhappy that I had to call repeatedly for scheduling and results.

I moved to the Des Moines area this past year and asked about the best doctors in the area and was given the Iowa Clinic. My initial visits were great and I was very impressed. However I had complaints about some symptoms and blood tests were ordered. When there was no clear reason for the weakness and pain, I was referred to Neurologist. They tested and said there wasn't anything they could find. My symptoms have gotten worse and I cannot seem to find anyone in your organization that wants to find out what is happening with my muscle weakness, pain and twitching. I have also tried four times to get an appointment to get a vaccine for Hep B and Flu shot and get an email back that tells me what I need to have done for testing, but no appointment is yet scheduled. I don't believe at this point that you care about your patients. Your commercials definitely misrepresent how you do business.

As with all large companies The Iowa Clinic is starting to loose site of concern for the Patient Each and every patient is different as is their medical issues Therefore all should not be treated with strait forward textbook answers Doctors involved in a patients care really need to take the time to know and understand their patients circumstances. Patients also need to be let known and be made to feel that they can address concerns with the Dr and not the Dr simply relaying messages AGAIN DR PATIENT RELATIONSHIPS ARE VERY IMPORTANT and far to much of the medical industry is getting away from thisPATIENTS ASK QUESTIONS SPEAK UP REMEMBER THE DR s. Had horrible pain throughout most of the surgery this is after I scheduled well in advance because I needed it done a specific day just have them reschedule me because a doctor quit on them. One of the worst experiences of my life and I cant remember a time Ive been in that much pain

I am disappointed in the urology department at the Iowa Clinic in West Des Moines. Me and my pharmacist both reached out to them for a prescription refill Thursday morning. When Friday mid morning rolled around with no response from them I decided to give them call directly. I spoke with a very nice gentleman from the urology department who assured me that the doctor was in and will get my script called in today. I called my pharmacist after work and they said the urologist never called in the refill. Now its too late and nothing I can do about it. My prescription needs to be taken Saturday and now Im screwed until next week. I cant believe after both me and my pharmacist reached out multiple times that they still ended up blowing me off. Completely unorganized and unprofessional.

Quite possibly the rudest group of people I have ever encountered. Doctors & nurses are usually decent but the receptionists are awful. Receptionists are rude, disrespectful and unorganized. I wouldn't suggest the Iowa Clinic to my worst enemy

I had a hydro-facial treatment done at Iowa Clinic Plastic Surgery and I absolutely loved it. The staff was friendly and Jinah, my esthetician, did a great job explaining each step. The hydro-facial is my new favorite facial treatment. My face feels so clean and and moisturized. There was no pain or any drying out issues. My face feels fresh, firm and is glowing! I cant wait for my next one!

I had to go to urgent care because my family doctor was out for vacation, and what a terrible and frustrating experience I had. The wait was long, but it was busy. The nurse seemed annoyed and unwelcoming. She did her assessment and wanted to do a test I didnt feel necessary. The nurse practitioner was in my room for no more than two minutes, did a poor assessment, said heres a script feel better. I wasnt able to ask any questions or even ask for at least a lab draw to make sure everything was normal. Thats poor medical practice.

I waited about 15 minutes to get my blood drawn which is fine no complaints there, however when i was waiting there was a conflict with another patient, i work in a medical clinic and understand how frustrating this can be. However this particular nurse went to the front desk and proceed to talk about how rude and what a '@$$hole' he was and repeated it multiple times. I found this incredibly unprofessional and a little uncomfortable to say the least.

my mom went there for hearing screen she's always had a severe hearing loss since birth but now she's in her late 50s is getting worse my mom came back crying because she said the doctors were yelling at her telling her that she can hear the words telling her to make up what she believed the words sounded like during her hearing screen and when she said that she couldn't make up the words in that she couldn't hear them they were yelling her and telling her that she's lying trying to force her to say that she heard something. she reported that the nurse was very rude the other doctors were very rude when they came in she said she had the most worst horrible experience ever life. these people need to be stopped with treating people rude and inhumane

Ive been a patient with Iowa Clinic for eight years. My PCP Dr. Sean Cunningham is awesome. Dr. Hawk at West Des Moines Urgent Care is a Rockstar. Thats where the compliments stop. Im diabetic and Iowa Clinic no longer has an Endocronologist. They havent had one in at least six years since they got rid of Dr. Guerrero. I also suffer with chronic pain and was a regular at Pain Management. They got rid of that doctor as well. Now its a revolving door for doctors in the Pain Management Clinic. Finally, I recently, was scheduled to have a CT Scan with contrast. I was told to check in at 2:30. When I check in, Im told that I cant be seen because I was suppose to be there at 1:00 to start drinking the contrast. No one told me that. I have been fasting since midnight. I called the administrators office to complain and see if they could have the radiologist stay to complete my scan. I was told that an administrator would call me back. That was Thursday afternoon. It is now Friday evening and no one has called me. I was able to get the CT scan at Mercy West Lakes. Mercy faxed the results to the GI department at 8:00am Friday morning. No one from Iowa Clinic contacted me with the results. I had an abdominal aortic aneurysm scan Thursday morning as well. Again, its Friday evening and I still have not received those results.

We made an appointment for a Friday it got canceled. I.called and made it for Monday. Saturday I got a text message saying the rescheduled my appointment for Tuesday. When I got to the appointment on Tuesday I checked in did all the paper work and waited for 35 minutes. After waiting for over half an hour they called me up to the desk saying that the doctor doesn't have time to take me now so we need to reschedule again. I was waiting for this appointment for over 2 months.

My wife had an MRI recently and the staff was great. A lady at the desk, Brenda let us in early as the appointment was at 7:00. After she took our information, she told us that things would be running a little late because of the weather and a technician was out sick. My wife got in about 5 minutes late. While we were there a gentlemen came over and was unhappy about having to wait, as he was seeing other people that had arrived after him going back. Brenda handled it very professionally and explained that there are many procedures that occur there and that he would be taken back as soon as possible. Hats off to the selfless folks behind the counter that take the brunt of peoples fears and frustrations and handle them with poise and caring.

I was given very basic service, sent to x-ray, and told I would be called the same day with the results. The PA never called. I was charged 2 copays, one for seeing the PA and one for the x-rays she ordered. This is after having an ultrasound. I was given a prescription that might be needed depending on the x-ray results but do not know if I should start taking them as I never received the phone call. This was on a Friday so there will be no follow up until Monday. Very disappointed in the care I received.

I have been going to the Iowa Clinic for over a year now. I have had ups and downs with my acne and decided to take action and see what I could do to help my skin without going on medications. Jinah provides an excellent service for skin care, guidance, tips, maintenance, and allows you to fully relax for 45-1hr while she takes care of your skin. I highly recommend the microdermabrasion, my pores always feel so clean after, as well as the nano laser peel, LOVE how my skin feels after- it peels for 2-3 days and rids of the old skin while repairing and tightening up whats underneath. Get on over and see these girls at the clinic!!

I recently had to see a urologist for a serious medical emergency. I was nervous and extremely anxious about the whole procedure. I was appointed to see Dr. Wild.Dr. Wild and The Iowa Clinic in West Des Moines staff in general (from the nurses to the front office) couldnt have done a better job at making me feel comfortable and at ease. Everyone seemed very concerned but also very professional. There were a myriad of tests and scans I needed to have done and they made sure to get all of it done in a very swift and expedited manner. I was then scheduled for immediate surgery by Dr. Wild who did an absolutely phenomenal job. I would recommend him to anyone and though I hope to never have surgery again, if I were I would hope Dr. Wild would be the man performing it.

Went to this clinic on Tuesday March 26 for arm and leg numbness on my right side. Was greeted by a kind lady at desk who said shed have a nurse take me back to access whether I was in the right place for the symptoms I was experiencing. She asked me a few medical questions then proceeded to scold me thru her mask she was wearing for coming to the clinic, they dont have my records, they would have to completely start over with my medical history and they r not designed for that! Why didnt I call my Dr? I told her they were near closing so I thought this is what I should do. Again goes thru the whole we cant treat you for this, we have no info on you and she was going to call my Dr office to see what they should do with me! We only treat colds, flu etc. not this kind of problem. My Dr sent me to emergency room. No concern or kindness only that I had come to the wrong place. THIS kind of treatment is why people dont seek medical help. I understand completely they were not equipped to handle my symptoms, but no need to shame me for taking MAYBE10 mins.of her time. I apologized profusely for making this mistake. Her response was oh no no problem REALLY!! Her actions could have fooled me. I would drive the extra distance to be seen at any other clinic. Unsatisfactory and unprofessional.
