Center for Cosmetic Surgery P.C. (Dr. Julie Sofer) Reviews

Breast cancer for the second time in two years left me facing a mastectomy as my only treatment option. I wanted to look at having reconstructive surgery. I was referred to Dr Sofer for a consultant. Dr and her staff are fantastic! Dr is compassionate, extremely knowledgeable and very upfront. She makes sure you understand all of your options, a realistic outcome and makes sure you are confident with your decision before moving forward. Her staff is equally awesome. I recommend Dr to anyone who is in need of her services

I MADE A BIG MISTAKE! By not seeing Doctor Sofer the 1st time. I went to another doctor and after their defective mistake, that now required reconstruction surgery, I saw Doctor Sofer. Sofer and staff defiantly understood my desires and insecurity issues by setting the bar for the three Cs; Caring, Compassion, & Consideration. I understand that office personnel can be overwhelmed with task at times, but they never lost focus on the customer. Doctor made me feel comfortable and relaxed from pre to post surgery and asked for my feedback to recognize and identify any fears that I may have had. Note that I am not one to provide any type of reviews like this. I do feel compelled to write this, so you will not make a mistake like I did and know that this diamond in the rough is a real gem!

I had the greatest experience with Dr. Sofer and the staff at her office. I had went to numerous consults with physicians all over Michigan and Dr. Sofer spent time with me going over different possibilities, explaining the different techniques of the procedure and that was important to me. I didnt feel like I was being rushed to make a decision. I felt like she cared and wanted the best possible outcome so I was fully satisfied. I ended up going back once the spa side was up and running and I was still just as satisfied.

The women that work changed my life. I used to have severe acne and after my face cleared it left me with lumpy scars that would itch, drain fluid, flatten, then rise back up and start to itch again. They used laser on me 3 times and the scars stopped growing back. Now they are just flat indents in my face instead of bumps. I finally beat raised itchy scars thanks to this office.

Very unfriendly Front desk staff is unprofessional.Multiple problems with communication when it comes to scheduling appointments. Inconsiderate of patients needs and feelings.Dr. Sofer has a repugnant bedside manner.Staff calls in consistently, so patients services get cancelled repeatedly.Staff is not properly trained on facial equipment. I do not suggest this practice!

Very poor customer service. The staff just lie and lead you on concerning what they can do. They lied to me for several months and lMade me wait to find a better doctor to perform my procedure. Don't trust them.

Having had several treatments at the new location, the experiences can only be rated 'excellent '. The doctor and her staff are well versed in their profession, thereby providing a rewarding experience.

I worked in her new space for almost three weeks. At first, I was hired to train and fill a clerical position on the medical side for $10.50 an hour. It was explained to me that once the med spa got up and running, I would switch over and commission would be negotiated for my aesthetic services. The first week I trained, Dr. Sofer asked I schedule a few lash appointments the following week for a dry run. The second week I was completely thrown into the clerical work because an M.A. was out sick. It was during this week that Dr. Sofer asked I also schedule a couple people for waxing services for the following week, coordinate the spa menu, coordinate the services we would offer at the upcoming party, get on facebook & introduce the med spa to start bringing people in for facial services with no linens or facial towels for the facial beds, create an e-mail blast for the party, make a list of things needed ordered for the spa all while maintaining the clerical side for $10.50 an hour! The following week I brought my concerns to Danielles (office manager who works from her home in Texas) attention after she offered me a mere 20% commission on services in the spa, told me they wanted to buy all my lash stuff, sign a contract that Dr. Sofers attorney would draw up and expressed to me how little I brought to the table, even disapproved of me making my own business cards and insisted I wait 6 weeks for uniformed cards. I understood Dr. Sofer was trying to get her business up and running but coming in with 5 years+ experience, having old clientele I could bring in, and coming from a 70% commission on lashes, 50% on other services, I could not discredit myself. I tried negotiating at 40% lashes and 20% the rest but could tell it was an issue after I received a text that night asking for everything in writing for their attorney. I was fired for leaving the hard wax on for a wax client the next day after explaining to them that hard wax is melted at a low temp for sensitive skin. If you crank it up every a.m., you will only burn your clients. Saddest part was, I was fired via phone by Danielle. Dr. Sofer avoided me and didnt come in until I left. Didnt shoot me a message thanking me for giving it a shot or saying sorry things didnt work! I was completely taken aback by her total disregard and lack of professionalism! As for Danielle, she occupies a great deal of your time on the phone while her kids and dogs constantly interrupt. She may be a great office manager for the medical side, but knows nothing about a spa. Thinks having a few tattoos, she knows all about it when tattoos and permanent makeup are nothing alike. While discussing items needed for areola tattoos, she suggested re-using tattoo needles since there was an autoclave available. Thanks, no thanks! Also expressed how little she tolerated drama. Good luck with that with Stephanie. Shes completely rude to both co-workers and clients, most new clients were turned off. Treats her coworkers as a threat or a bother, will tell on you real quick leaving you no option to take responsibility for yourself. Management allows it since shes not physically there to manage. While I was expressing my interest in training for microblading, Dr. Sofer suggested calling her cousin who owns a Vietnamese nail salon in Detroit and does microblading to train me. I was asked to sacrifice my time and talent to work for peanuts and we could renegotiate later when the med spa side was turning a profit. Not how you do business. Very manipulative environment! Too many corners being cut and at the end of the day, they just want someone to keep under their thumb. F.Y.I, if you are sending someone to train for lashes, it would be absurd to allow them to charge clients for the service without completing at least 20 full sets first. I hope your lash girl has that complete before the first week of March which is what I hear you are telling clients! If you sign their contract without consulting an attorney other than their own, youre crazy! Know your worth and stand up for what is right!
