I had explant surgery with en bloc by Dr. Amy DeRosa in December 2019. She is extremely skilled and professional along with her staff. Every step of the process from my initial consultation, insurance approvals, scheduling the procedure, hospital stay, follow up appointments, etc. were handled flawlessly. So many of the other reviews have used adjectives I had planned to use. Exceptional, skilled, compassionate etc. and on and on. I absolutely agree. I have had multiple surgeries through out my life time with great success but I can honestly say no one can hold a candle to Amy. She has operated on me twice in the last 3 weeks and I will have a final breast cancer reconstruction surgery in the Spring after I am through with my radiation treatments. Trust, communication and confidence are very important to me. Amy's compassionand bedside manner is like none I've ever received. An added plus is her fabulous staff. Every appointment has truly been friendly and fun. They all have helped me through a most scary time in my life. Her colleagues at the hospital rave about her skills as do all the nurses. Amy is so well liked and respected by them and other patients that have shared their experiences with me.Finally, let me just say DON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Why would you if you want the BEST.

I spent several months vetting local, board certified doctors, before choosing Dr. DeRosa to be my surgeon. Most other doctors tried to push me into a larger size or an implant that I would not have been happy with. I knew I wanted a breast lift, but I was not certain I wanted to get implants as well. Dr. DeRosa was the only doctor that talked me through the procedures, in extreme detail, and on multiple occasions allowing me to make an educated decision. Making the decision of who to choose for plastic surgery is a tough one. Luckily, Dr. DeRosa and her amazing staff made it easy for me. After I left the consult, I knew I would be in good hands! I am very unhappy with my experience at DeRosa Plastic Surgery! I went in for a Gynecomastia Surgery. I did not know it at the time (since having my second surgery with a different doctor) but I was not in good hands. The doctor made it sound like this was an easy case (which is because my second doctor did it just fine) but when it was said and done the doctor did not cut any of the tissue out. After the procedure, I noticed I still had a very large lump in my breast and the doctor said it grew back or its scare tissue. In 3 month, my breast tissue just grew back? No, she made an incision and just left the tissue. I followed all the instructions (wearing the tight body suit, rolling out the scar tissue and still ended up with an infection which again I did not know at the time but my doctor did not know what it was either. I would roll my breast out (for scarring) and my nipple would squirt milky white fluid. I went to see my doctor and all she said was there was nothing she could do and I still had to pay the $50 for a 5 minute conversation. I paid every single time I saw her ($50), plus the procedure, mind you my second doctor I skyped/skype for free, saw him three times free of charge after the procedure and still can text him any time I have questions FREE OF COST. I know now that my first doctor did not cut any tissue out because my second doctor went in and cut out a huge fat tissue mass, which my wife was allowed to watch from a far (sterile procedure) and I was fully awake when he did it and saw the procedure. He also has the procedure videotaped so there are no secrets of what he is doing. I also was able to touch the tissue afterwards and know what he took out. The first doctor was a complete waste of money and I do NOT recommend you spending money to see her because she takes your money then just says she cannot help you. Such bad service. I am completely tissue free and have a normal chest because of my second doctor no thanks to this doctor.

I suffered for many years from a long list of symptoms and my doctors had no answers as to what was causing them. They only suggested taking medications that caused additional side effects and reactions. A friend of mine told me about Breast Implant Illness and I started to do some research. I had 485cc saline implants sub muscular for almost 12 years. After months of studying on the subject and joining the now 72,000 member Facebook support group, I decided that removing my implants would be my best option. I found Dr. DeRosa on the Explant Surgeon List on the Healing Breast Implant Illness website. I set up a consultation with her to see about getting my implants removed. When I arrived for my consult, Debbie greeted me warmly and immediately I felt at home. I first met with Dr. DeRosas husband Tim, who works side by side with her. His outgoing personality is infectious. He assured me that I was in good hands and made me feel very comfortable. When I met Amy my first impression was that she was very intelligent, gentle and honest. She informed me that she was starting a case study on Breast Implant Illness and that she wanted to continue to help women that suffered from symptoms that they believed were caused by their implants. She answered every one of my questions and even took the time to draw out a diagram of what exactly would take place during the procedure. I had massive amounts of anxiety and there was just something about her that calmed my nerves. I knew in my heart if I was going through with this surgery she was the one that was going to perform it. So I put down a deposit and set my surgery date. I had my explant surgery with Dr. DeRosa on February 13th, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital. The hospital was clean and the staff was friendly and very organized. Amys bedside manner was impeccable. Even though I was a nervous wreck, my entire surgery experience flowed smoothly and went way better than I expected. She was able to get both implants out full enbloc with no complications, thank God! Once home and healing, I had several questions and concerns that came up. During the week, I called the office and Debbie was quick to respond to my concerns. During the weekends, I was able to contact Dr. DeRosa via text. If I left a message, she or Tim returned my call. This week I had my 6 wk follow up. I am healing well and best of all at least 75% of my symptoms have disappeared! I had asked Dr. DeRosa about sometime down the line once my body has healed, if I should get a lift due to the excess skin on my breasts. She was very honest with me about the physical appearance of my breasts and suggested a different option that would work for my particular concerns. Thankfully she was honest because she could've sold me a procedure I didn't even need. This proves her integrity and concern for her patients. When I left the office, both her and Tim hugged me and I honestly felt sad that I wouldnt be seeing them, at least not any time soon. I dont have one negative thing to say about Dr. DeRosa, her staff, or Beaumont Hospital. If I decide to have another cosmetic/plastic surgery procedure I would not let anyone else touch me. I am grateful that God led me to her practice and I will tell everyone I know about my experience.

I have known and seen Dr Derosa for years. She is such a kind and professional doctor, who has impressed me with her honesty and her focus on me holistically as a person not just as a patient. I had also consulted her about two potential surgeries that I was interested in and in fact, I was actually quite keen on one of the procedures, so it wouldve been a no brainer for her to support my interest and go ahead with pre-op protocol. Instead, she said if I were you I would not do it. It was all I needed to hear to close the chapter on that procedure. In making this statement she considered many things I presented with, including my busy personal life, post-op difficulties I would face with recovery due to my many small children and my lack of family support. She gave most weight to the fact that I suffer from autoimmune illnesses. I was impressed with her honesty and viewing me as a real person with a real life. Im not sure all surgeons put these factors first and dissuade a patient from elective surgery when they are already keen. I appreciated that. Dr Derosa always texts me after injections to see my results and check my satisfaction, and has always offered to administer touch ups if I request it. Added bonus, I love that she always has a frozen pack to give you when you leave. I would highly recommend Dr Derosa. I see many doctors for various conditions so I feel I have a good gauge for medical professionals and standards and in my opinion Dr Derosa exceeds those standards.

I could not more highly recommend Dr. DeRosa. Approximately 10 years ago, I had my initial implants placed by another surgeon. I went back to him (the original surgeon - also board-certified) to inquire about having them removed, and left his office feeling quite ashamed, belittled, and with little information. He did write me a script for a mammogram to rule out a possible rupture, which came back clean.I went for a second opinion to Dr. DeRosa, and am so glad that I did! She informed me that mammograms do NOT detect ruptures, and sent me in for an MRI, which detected ruptures in BOTH implants. She was able to get me in for surgery quickly despite her busy schedule, and I opted to have them replaced. Throughout the entire process, Dr. DeRosa was professional, caring, and compassionate, and addressed all of my concerns and questions. She is a brilliant surgeon and did a wonderful job. The surgery went smoothly, and I had a very easy recovery. I can not say enough positive things about her, and her staff - Tim, especially, was always available to answer my concerns and questions and spent a lot of time educating me on the process and my options. I felt like family from the first call and even found myself thinking, this is too good to be true. I had 2 procedures done and the results exceeded my expectations. I had a ton of questions and concerns, no matter what my question, I never felt like a bother and always could hear the concern and care in the voices of both Dr. DeRosa and her staff. It became obvious to me very quickly that Dr. DeRosa loves what she does because it helps others to love and accept who they are!
