I emailed Dr. Kayan and her staff in March when COVID-19 first started happening. Kristina was responsive and let me know about potential appointment dates, I did not feel comfortable going at that time so I waited a few months. At the end of May I reached out again to schedule an appointment and did not hear anything back despite multiple follow ups and a phone call. Kristina finally responded when I made a fuss and directly asked if this was a racial issue as I was looking for the cheaper option, was Dr. K not interested in patients for her plastic surgery business who did not have loads of money? I ended up seeing a different surgeon in town. Kristina did apologize, but I felt extremely disrespected.

I had a breast reduction done by Dr. Kayan this year. I was recommended to her by a friend who also had surgery by her. I was glad to have a female doctor, and Dr. Kayan got my surgery covered by insurance without a problem. She was available through text, which was surprising! I am very happy with my results, and would recommend Dr. Kayan without hesitation!

Dr. Kayan is amazing! She not only made me feel super comfortable before surgery, she calmed down my wife as well before surgery and gave great updates throughout the whole process as well. I cant believe how fast I got in for surgery as well. I am a FTM transgender and originally had an appointment at the U of M that wasnt till July! Dr. Kayan got my in right away for a consult and less than I month later, here I am done with surgery and finally able to live in the body Ive always wanted! She even took time out of her day after she was done working to text and check up on me. Dr. Kayan is the absolute best! I asked Dr. Tracy Kayan to preform a complete capsulectomy/enbloc explant and she did just that, and provided me with exceptional care following the procedure. She was there to personally answer my questions day and night, before and after my breast implant removal procedure. Dr. Kayan took extra time and care to make sure my breasts look great following such an awful personal experience with breast implant illness. I highly recommend Dr. Kayan for all any your plastic surgery needs!

Anyone wanting to explant I highly recommend Dr. Kayan! I consulted with many other (highly regarded) surgeons in Minnesota & around the country and Dr. Kayan was by far the best! My explant and lift went perfectly. I am just thrilled! She is always available via phone/email even nights and weekends and her fees are considerably less than the others. Dr. Kayan is amazing. I was referred to Dr. Kayan after my original plastic surgeon (not at all affiliated with Dr. K) did a horrible reconstruction job after my double mastectomy that left me lopsided and in pain. Dr. Kayan first returned texts over a weekend and got me in to see her the following Monday. She was open and honest with what steps we needed to take. She has always been available via text, email and phone (even on weekends...which has happened more than once). I have always felt confident in her abilities and her bedside manner. I will forever be grateful for the expertise of Dr. Kayan!

Much gratitude for Dr. Kayan's care. She is not as well known in the transgender circle in the Twin Cities, but I think that is changing, and will continue to change. My experience with her and her staff from day one has been all positive. She told me on my last visit (3 month follow up after top surgery, double incision with free nipple graft) that she is doing about 3 of these surgeries a week now, even during COVID. She is energetic, skilled, compassionate, and very good at what she does. She also takes insurance and handles all of the paperwork for that. (I have BCBS and my plan covered the whole thing 100%, I'm very lucky and privileged) I had zero complications, minimal pain and excellent healing. I am so happy with the results, but more relevant to her care, I always felt important, listened to and cared for as a human. She does things quickly, is often in and out of the clinic follow up appointments after only a few minutes, yet I always feel I can ask any question or bring up any concern and she will take whatever it is seriously. I have no reservations about recommending Dr. Tracy Kayan to all of my trans community for plastic surgery care.
