Dr. Mitchell is a wonderful physician who performed reconstructive surgery to repair another plastic surgeons work. He listened carefully to my concerns, addressed every question that I had, was empathetic, and essentially performed a miracle with his artistic technique. My confidence has been restored! I cant thank him enough. Extremely friendly and helpful staff as well!

I'm officially 4 days post op. And all I can say is wow! After a massive reconstruction of my body I'm completely blown away. Even through all of the swelling and normal post op stuff I'm already in love with my new figure. After a very rough first day post op Dr. Mitchell listened to my concerns and gave me the extra time I needed to feel comfortable going home. I interviewed 15 surgeon's over the course of 1.5 years some of them twice and in the end went with Dr. Mitchell because of his precise eye for detail, plan of care and post op pain management plan. It's not just about what can be done surgically it's about having a dr. Who will also listen, address your concerns and share your vision of your new self with you. So excited! And a huge thanks to Dr. Mitchell and team! Your truly amazing! Glad I chose the best.

I wish I could give less than one star for this man's horrible office staff. Please, for your own mental and physical safety, stay away from his practice and the surgery center he operates out of. Clearly they are not in the business of making surgery a simple process for their patients.I have attempted to get a breast reduction with this surgeon twice, and both times it was a nightmare. In 2015, we had a consultation and submitted everything to insurance for a pre-authorization. Two weeks later, his office called me saying that it had been denied. I was young and naive and didn't follow up on this because I had just started a full-time job and didn't have the sick leave. But I called insurance in December 2017 to verify the denial, and it turns out it had been APPROVED. Why are his front desk people calling me, spreading misinformation? Do they not want to improve a patient's life, like it claims on his website?I tried again to get another pre-authorization for 2018, but it was denied. I gave him as much symptomology as I could, but it turns out that he sent his standard letter (Op, this woman has back/neck pain, shoulder indentations, may have ptosis, please approve removing X grams of tissue). He didn't include the detailed symptomology I provided for him, and instead I had to do that myself when his two appeals failed. I sent my insurance company 22 pages of symptomology, ranging from spinal deformities, life limitations, and just about every other box they wanted checked off for coverage. If you are so skilled at your job, why are you sending insurance three paragraphs of symptomology, when I provided you 100 paragraphs' worth of aches and pains and anguish?I also attempted paying for this out of pocket while Insurance debated the medical necessity. We had a date scheduled, pre-op lab work done, unnecessary pregnancy test, etc. I had already paid their fees a week before the surgery date, looking forward to finally being free of excess breast tissue, when five days before I got a call saying that they had to cancel.Turns out that no one told the anesthesiologist that my BMI was less than stellar (because macromastia is a pain to exercise around), and because it was higher than their 'standard', my surgery was automatically cancelled. Why would you insist I pay $6,500 UPFRONT if all the specialists working on my case have not been informed of the details of my case? Why are my specialists using an outdated number to determine if I'll have complications or not? 'Oh, your airway might collapse during the procedure if we put you under for three hours'. Honey, I'd be more concerned about that if I suffered from sleep apnea (which I don't). I was also informed that they could reschedule the surgery for a few months down the road (breast tissue doesn't kill, unfortunately), but they couldn't do it in their treasured outpatient surgery center. Nope, they would have to do it in a hospital setting for an additional $35,000. Before my BMI was an issue, all they wanted was $1,600 for anesthesia. I was also informed to lose 50 pounds and come back if I wanted to utilize the cheaper prices. What gives? If I was able to exercise my breast tissue away, I would have done that by now, but they are a hindrance, and keep me from moving as actively as I want to. Why would I try last-resort surgery if I hadn't tried everything else? I smell a discrimination lawsuit in the wings.I don't know if I will even get my money back, which is the sick part. I will definitely be calling their office on Monday, demanding the full amount back, since THEY cancelled this, not me. I've come to think of this as a loud warning from the universe NOT to have surgery with him. I'll be taking my business up to Omaha, where hopefully they consider the full picture before getting a patient's hopes up. I've been waiting three years for relief, and you let me down, Dr. Mitchell. I hope you read this and make the necessary adjustments.
