I was very excited when Dr Chen said I only needed a mini lift. My main concern was my turkey neck. After the surgery my face looked great but it was swollen. now that the swelling has gone down I still have a turkey neck just smaller. My cheeks look better but if I had known he could not tighten up the chin with a mini facelift I would have gotten a full one. I am disappointed and sad about my neck area.

I cannot express how impressed I am with Dr. Chen, his team and my overall experience! From my initial consultation to my follow up visits, I received amazing care and customer service. I was beginning to loose hope with the providers I met with and thought I'd have to settle for a doctor. However, after meeting with Dr. Chen, I immediately knew he held all the qualities I was looking for in a provider to meet my specific needs. Dr. Chen made me feel very comfortable and was open to all of the questions I had and patiently answered them in a way that I understood. He is very knowledgeable of his work and provided honest feedback and suggestions. The day of my surgery, everything went smoothly. Dr. Chen and his team explained everything in detail not only to me but to my husband and mother who were just as nervous as I was. They again patiently answered all our questions (sometimes answering the same question multiple times) which helped put us all at ease. The recovery process was a lot smoother than I expected which I believe is contributed to Dr. Chen's skills, knowledge, care for his patients and his team. Post op, Dr. Chen personally called me to see how I was feeling and ensure I didn't have any questions/concerns and was readily available by phone when I did have a question. I am now two months post op and my results have exceeded my expectations and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome! I highly recommend Dr. Chen and will return in the future without a doubt. I cannot more highly recommend Dr. Chen as a Plastic Surgeon of choice here in New Mexico. His vast experience, distinct attention to each and every detail, and most importantly, his gentle tough as a surgeon is up and above! I have had previous Plastic Surgery done in another state and was highly considering returning to that surgeon, however after my initial consultation with Dr. Chen, there was absolutely no question in my mind that I was totally comfortable with him and the results I could expect would meet my expectations. He has treated both myself and my husband, and consequently a friend from California also flew out here after she saw my results. We are all hugely grateful to Dr. Chen and his Staff for their expertise and 100% care through the entire process of our surgeries!

This particular practice is decent enough for their service and hospitality, but several staff members commented that they often left a fleet of 5-Star reviews for themselves. A lot of services have started doing it lately to falsely inflate their scores. Always be careful when you find something that seems too good to be true!

Love Dr. Chen! Let me count the ways.After interviewing several plastic surgeons I chose Dr. Chen because: His credentials were impeccable. Harvard Medical School & internships at Mass General & UCLA Medical. Doesn't get much better than that! He could have had a lucrative practice on either coast but, lucky for his patients, he chose NM because he likes it here. We talked at length before the procedure. I asked a lot of questions, & he's a very good listener. His approach to my facelift was gentle, detailed & conservative. No pulled look, very natural. For any type of cosmetic work Dr Chen will be my go to guy!

by Gene GoetzIt was never my intention to have facial surgery. I looked at it as an unnecessary and vain thing for a man to do. Then I turned 70 and to say I looked 70 was an understatement, bags under my eyes, flabby neck, the works. It didnt bother me at first but, more and more, I found people treating me as if I were old. Why not. I certainly looked old. But I didnt feel old and I didnt want to be treated that way. I didnt want people to make assumptions about what I could and could not do based on my appearance. With some urging from my wife, who had been very successfully treated by him, I went to see Dr. Chen. It was an altogether great experience. Through his skill and the superb treatment I had from his staff. I came out looking, as my colleagues noted, twenty years younger. That puts me at 50. I dont mind being seen as a 50 year old. Ill settle for that. And when I get to be 80 Ill look into what can be done to make me look 60!

Dr. Chen is the only plastic surgeon that I would go to for my cosmetic surgery. The results are awesome. I was very nervous when I finally decided to take the leap and get plastic surgery (to increase my A-cup breasts). I wanted the best surgeon I could find and was willing to go to a different city, if necessary, to find the right doctor. I just wanted to send an amazing THANKS to Dr. Chen, Yvette and Shannon. Wow! The results from the tummy tuck and breast augmentation are awesome. The healing took longer than I anticipated for my stomach. I was so sore right on my rib cage but I am now back to 100% and again, WOW! Dr. Chen did such a terrific job. My stomach looks great (and so flat). The scar was really red and raised for a while which had me concerned. But, I wore the gel patch that Dr. Chen recommended and the raised area has flattened and is fading to a white line. I love doing my abs workout now - it's fun to see the muscle tone develop.Here's the back story...Originally, I was interested in Dr. Chen because he is well known for his work in hand surgery, which seems like it requires delicate, meticulous work. Then, when I met him in person, I knew he was the right doctor for me. He combines precision skills with this amazing artistic vision of how he can help his patients achieve their goals. My implants turned out beautifully and the only reason I had them re-done is because I wanted to go to a larger size and change from saline to silicone. My breasts feel, move and look so natural that its hard to tell that they are not my natural body. Over the 8 years that Ive known Dr. Chen and his staff, Ive had my breasts enlarged, a mini-face lift, my eyelids done and most recently, a tummy tuck. I couldnt be happier. I also have Botox done regularly. I don't believe in going overboard - I look natural (just a better natural). I'm so much better than I was in my 20's. I do my part (exercise and eat right) but I dont worry about how I look anymore. I know my body and my face look as good as I feel. I wouldnt trust anyone else. Dr. Chen is incredible; both as a doctor and as a person.Dr. Chen takes as much time as necessary for me to ask all my questions and get the information I need to make my decisions. And he has never pressured me about any procedure. And he's even told me when he thinks I do not need a procedure.AND his staff is exceptional! They are just as concerned about making me feel comfortable as Dr. Chen. Theyve taken time to get to know me and they are so soothing during procedures. In particular, I am thankful for Yvette and Shannon. Theyve been there for me throughout each procedure and I couldnt have done it without them.Dr. Chen and his staff have done wonders for my sense of self and for my confidence. And things keep getting better. I can't tell you how often someone assumes I am in my early 30's when I am well into 46!Thank you, Dr. Chen!
