Having seen Dr. Kwan several times over the years, I have to agree that the wait time is quite a bit sometimes. But this guy is a good doctor and sees folks all over the east side of NM. He is a thorough doctor and sometimes that means we all have to wait. He has done procedures on me and found out what was wrong He explained what I needed to do as a patient and so forth. The staff is great and work as well as they can.I can only put down what I myself have experienced, although I have read some rough comments for this Dr. and his office.He is prior military and committed his life and work to serving the people in the NM area. I'm sure he is aware of the wait time but does not mean for it to happen., If you want a good doctor in the middle of that God forsaken area, please bring a bunch of patience. He is doing a good job serving the community far and wide.

Yes, you have to wait. But he will eventually see you and you probably won't feel rushed. I had an appointment at 3:15, was out by 5:30, and he still had at least 4 people waiting. Eventually I had 3 office visits and surgury. Surgery was at 6 am. So it's possible that he puts in 12 hour days. I like him, and so do a lot of others. I can hear him as he approaches. Speaking to others, he is kind, and cheerful. In my experience he is hard headed and smart and he doesn't put on airs. His office staff is good. They answer the phone and are friendly. The nurse that sets up surgery, Christina is rushed, but she stays busy, so it's nothing personal and if you need to call back with a question it's pretty easy to get an answer. If you need a general surgeon, don't dismiss him because of his ratings. I think the dissatisfied are just more vocal in our fine city.

This office is horrible at respecting people's time. My wife got called to come in early to her first appointment because they were ahead of schedule. We showed up 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment, and yet didn't get called back until 45+ minutes after the scheduled time, just to get vitals. Then another 15 minutes before getting called back to see the doctor, and another 5-10 minutes waiting in the room for him. All for 10 minutes of his time. I'm now at his office as a driver waiting for her to get called back. It's an hour over the scheduled time and she's yet to be called back for vitals. The last time she ate or drank anything was 16 hours ago before we went to sleep because she was not able to eat food or drink anything after midnight, and yet we sit here waiting. Next time the military refers us off base we will request to drive the 2 hours to Amarillo or Lubbock. I hate to give money to those that can't respect people.

Be prepared to wait forever when you come in here. Appointment was at 2:45 and it's now 4pm with no Dr. Kwan in site. The nurses were helpful with a lady that needed assistance in the bathroom, though.
