First impressions are paramount!!!! Entering the office you are welcomed by all smiles. At once you realize that you are not just a number here. The staff is friendly, engaging, and more than helpful. Upon first meeting Dr. Kaufman it didn't take long to realize he is very professional, knowledgeable, confident; and THOROUGH. Very, very thorough..... It became very obvious that the satisfaction and overall wellness of his patients is Dr. Kaufman's number one concern. Dr. Kaufman listened to what was most important to me. He considered my concerns and questions. Together, we came to a mutual decision on my surgeries and what would give me the best results. We then began plotting my surgical journey. It was at this point Dr. Kaufman started to interject his dry humor. I finally began to relax. With Dr. Kaufman's skills and compassion I am proud to say 'WE' breezed right through surgery and are now on the mend. I highly recommend Dr. Kaufman.

Love, Love, Love Dr. Kaufman! He's very personable and caring. He has been upfront and transparent about my care from the beginning. There is no sugar coating with him. He is honest but empathetic at the same time. He always makes me feel comfortable and confident with his expertise. Dr. Kaufman will give you every option possible and let you decide your journey. He will also let you know if he can handle whatever your decisions are, or if he can't. If he can't, he will refer you to someone he knows that can. Did I mention that I Love Dr. Kaufman lol! His staff is very polite, respectful and welcoming. I would refer ANYONE to Dr. Kaufman and his practice.

Horrific experience. Dr. Kaufman totally botched my surgery and maimed my body. It took a competent surgeon two surgeries to correct his mistakes. He is mentally unfocused, highly unorganized and surgically inept.

My husband and I met Dr. Kaufman 3 years ago after I found out I tested positive for the BRACA1 gene mutation. Receiving this news was devastating to me. At my first visit with Dr. Kaufman, we discussed in length the options I had and the decisions I had to make. I left his office knowing that if I was going to proceed with any procedures, that Dr. Kaufman would be the one to take care of me. In a short amount of time, my decision was made and I was scheduled for a full mastectomy and reconstruction. Both procedures were done at the same time. From the beginning Dr. Kaufman showed compassion and gentle kindness during my recovery. He explained in detail the plus and minuses of the procedures and he never once told me what I should do. I was guided by his words and I made the best decisions for me.It's now three years later and I needed some revision surgery and once again, Dr. Kaufman showed the same compassion and kindness for me. He also was very helpful in answering all of my husband's questions. He never rushed us out of his office. The best breast surgeon in New England!! I travel 2 hours to see Dr. Kaufman- I had a bilateral mastectomy by a different MD and was completely botched and left without breasts after multiple infections. Dr. Kaufman has gotten me through reconstruction successfully without incidence of infection and my breasts are beautiful, and I only have expanders so far! He has a great attitude, a beautiful outlook, and takes the time to listen to and answer questions. After the nightmare of a different MD I would not recommend anyone but Dr. Kaufman for breast surgery- he really is the greatest!!!

My mother had breast reconstruction shortly after having mastectomy 30+ years ago. Throughout the years her breasts have significantly changed. I have witnessed firsthand how that impacted my mothers self-image and the loops and bounds she had to do to make her body appear normal. He made my breasts look better than they ever had. He also told me he was 1 mm out of margins. I underwent 16 radiation treatments and for 1 year I thought I was fine. After a year I tried an implant but my body rejected it. When it was removed I had a double mastectomy and asked to be flat. Dr. Kaufman left extra skin thinking I would change my mind. I didn't. Now I have horrible lumpy flesh where my breasts used to be. He was so good......until he wasn't.
