I was referred to Dr Mata by my primary care physician for a lump on my neck. Dr Mata merely looked at it, said it was infected, and scheduled me for surgery the next day. He assures me that it would be done under local anesthetic and I wouldnt miss any work, then left the room before I could ask questions. I was not warned that I would be restrained for the procedure, which is a huge trigger for me (PTSD). He also failed to warn me that local anesthetics dont work on infected areas. Dr Mata laughed at me about my low pain tolerance while I screamed in pain and fear. To add insult to injury, he kept telling me how much the cyst was draining. He asked if I wanted to see, to which I of course responded no - but he shoved a pus-covered QTip in my face anyway. Zero bedside manner. Zero patient care. I wouldnt see this man again if I was dying and he were the last doctor on Earth.

I do not know where I'd be without Dr Mata's excellent skill and care. He turned a skin cancer disaster into an actual improvement in appearance and a seamless surgery. He may seem a bit gruff at first, but is caring, thorough and by far the best plastic surgeon in town. I wouldn't even consider going to anyone else for the kind of care I would expect in a big city.
