I had surgery with Dr. Roth in 2008. I had seen a couple liposuction surgeons but decided to go with Doug Roth because he was the most conservative and realistic. I was 22 years old, 58, 125 lbs, and in good shape, but had disproportionate saddlebags on my outer thighs. Dr. Roth made me feel understood. I felt confident that he could correct this annoying flaw that made it impossible to find pants that fit, and made me look heavier than I was. The surgery was easy, the recovery was painful for two days, and the results were fantastic. 10 years later and a few pounds heavier I still look proportionate, and I never had any weird side effects or complications. During my follow up appointment I asked Dr. Roth about fixing a small aesthetic problem I perceived on my nose. He immediately told me he wouldnt touch my nose. This helped me feel confident and I was able to dismiss the problem myself! I was impressed that he was more interested in preserving my natural beauty than taking advantage of a young image-conscious female. Thanks Dr Roth! I appreciate your work every day.

I was referred by my pediatrician for evaluation of my 4 year old childs mass . He had been evaluated by 4 prior physicians, three of them specialists of various types. Recently a sudden and drastic change in the mass prompted the need for another exam. This terrible excuse of a doctor questioned why I would bring my child for his evaluation and made me feel like I showed poor judgement in scheduling him and suggested that it was a waste of time. He kept me waiting for an hour with a small child and then referred me to a specialist in the city but did not examine my child. When I made the appointment all this was explained. Do not go tho this doctor for any compassion, treatment or anything other than to be judged .

WARNING. Unhappiness and Utter Disappointment-Terrible PRRead For yourself and you judge. Went to Roth for consult. Pleasant enough man w/ a slick smile and the quickest appointment known to mankind I sort of like him. Anyway, we were discussing the repair of my nose due to an accident. His only comments ' Your'e a big guy, we don't want you looking like M Jackson.' Narrow this, take the bulb out, 1,2,3-so let's get you booked for surgery.' 2 minutes. Whisks you over to unpleasant, sour office gestapo-like manager gal who has clearly 'been doin' this too long'. No longer lies what she does. 175 pounds, mean face. Schedule a follow-up appointment as I wish to discuss the finer points of the surgical procedure. I had breathing difficulty on one side of nasal passage so sends me to a Caremount colleague all the way up in Brewster to look at my nose to assist in the surgery. I head up to Brewster one morning 40 minutes each direction, wait 40 minutes to then find out that he does not take insurance. Ok-thanks for wasting my time. ! Pleasant enough ppl but massive waste of my time, and they work with this Susan gal all the time. I try to contact Susan but she doesn't call back. Maddening to try to get thru to Plastic Surgery-pushing a million prompts. I reach her finally and ask if she can give me her email which would be simplere. 'we don't have email'. Give me your fax thenen. 'we don't communicate by fax, you just have to leave a message' . Very frustrating to say the least in 2018. Fast Fwd: Find another Dr who turns to be ok. Then Fast forward again to second appointment to see Dr Roth. Same thing happens, 1,2,3 out-the-door. No time had to leave he said. I wanted to see some 'Before n After' pix, but he did not have time. We schedule one more appt in February prior to surgery. I wanted to discuss 'at length' this delicate procedure w/him as well as see some pix. I had a number of important procedural questions to go over with him s I was nervous. Prior to the appt I then one day receive a call from the Hospital informing me that my surgery had been schedules for Thursday (in 3 days). What? ! I had not had my appt with him, nor had any dates of my choosing ever been discussed with me. I told them this and they told me that 'that it when the Dr put me in for', I said this was never brought to my attention and ridiculous. When I spoke again with Susan she just stated that he was 'very busy'. My upcoming appt with him was in a few days and there I thought we would finally discuss the hard dates and answer my final questions. Instead I receive a VM from Susan stating that they were cancelling my appt, bc 'The Dr did not feel that it was necessary'(!) I was shocked. In my book, a Dr should be sympathetic to such a delicate operation and the concerns of a patient. we are talking about my nose and he is not some Park Avenue Manhattan Dr, so naturally I had some concerns. She also then tells me now that I did not get 'medical clearance.' I correct her by telling her that she never instructed me to obtain prior medical clearance. she said 'it was in the packet' that they gave me (!) C'mon...I say 'Ill be back to her. Several days later I receive yet another VM (like the 10th by now) stating that Dr Roth is now referring me to another Doctor to perform the surgery sending me some other Doctor in Westchester. I'm actually happy about it as he was arrogant and cocky and she was the absolute worst person suited for her job. Try compassion and competence and not arrogance. It goes along way !
