I'll reiterate what others have posted, beware of fourth floor nursing staff. It became a house of horrors for my frail mother. Our 85 year old mother was admitted for a UTI during the pandemic and was subjected to elder abuse in the form of both verbal and physical. Of course no family was permitted in due to the pandemic. We filed a complaint that was not taken seriously. Mother reported to her doctor the abuse while in the hospital and he admitted to me that he was made aware if it and yet did nothing. He's suppose to be a mandatory reporter! Please do not leave an elderly person or child at this hospital without family monitoring.

Choose any other facility in the area and I am sure you're going to get better quality care than you will here. Through the numerous visits I have had here, being seen myself and accompany to family. There are multiple times staff was rude, the decisions of staff have been pretty questionable to the point I do not want to go here unless it is absolutely the last option. The amount of people who do not care at all about patients totally surpasses the people who actually do try to help by a huge margin...healthcare here is not about helping the sick, its about making more money. Give your dollars to a facility that appreciates its patients.

Sadly the closest ER to me. The worst quality of care and most disgusting facility. The rooms are disgustingly dirty. The staff doesnt make anything seem to be an emergency. Emergency Room....is that not supposed to mean that its an emergency and people should move with a sense of urgency? Not have to wait 5 hours for your newborn to be seen. Disgusted with this place. I will be better off driving long distance to somewhere that has some sense of quality care.

The OBGYN department is an absolute nightmare. The check in receptionists are rude and not professional at all. Also being delayed on our appointment is unacceptable to me. This is business not a free clinic. We're paying for a service and that service needs to be rendered to a satisfactory level. When it was 15 minutes past our appointment time I went up to the receptionists and asked how much longer it would be and they got rude with me. So I cracked back with the simple but honest response that if I was 15 minutes late you would have canceled the appointment but you can run as late as you want and that's not acceptable. The hospital also seems dirty and there waiting rooms are just chairs lined in the hall

My mom was in this hospital 2 weeks and 3 different floors before she passed away. The Doctor was so loud and obnoxious, and the entire staff on every floor acted like my family was a burden on them. I would NEVER recommend Holzer.when she passes

I would like to send a big shout to all nurses, nurses assistant, CNP, Doctors, and all other staff members that took care of me in room 426 over the last 2 days. Had upper respiratory infection d/t asthma complications. Had this diagnosis before but this time it scared me. But because of the team that took care of me it was actually a very pleasant stay. I would like to name some that I would like to extend a special shout out to Juli RN, Jessica Nurse Assistant, Kelly CNP, Bryon RN, Brad RN, Carrie Nurse Assistant, Kim RN and Dr.Chaudhari and the girl that did my blood draws (name unknown). I hope whom ever reads this will get with these staff members and pat them on the back for a job very well done and please let them know that because of this care I will recommend this facility to everyone I meet that are in need of a good hospital. You know when you have a good experience and you tell 10 people, well I am the type that tell 100. Again thank you and if I need care in the future I will definitely return!!!

Messed up scheduling not once but twice. Room was not cleaned ,was feces on chair an toilet seat when first admitted. Wouldnt take my pet here . Go else where if your in need of quality care or important test.

If it was possible to give a no star review, I definitely would. My grandpa is an inpatient on the 4th floor and he is getting horribly mistreated by all 4th floor staff. They don't care about their patients here at all. We are in the process of getting him transferred. Beware of the 4th floor! :(

They treat everyone like drug addicts because of the problem in their community. They told me that they didnt like to give opioid pain meds because of the amount of people here that are drug seekers so they gave me Tylenol. I went to Jackson with chest pain they transferred me here and I have been here since last night. I am still in pain. If Tylenol or aspirin would have taken care of the pain I obviously wouldnt have gone to the ER. I have had 2 yes 2 open heart surgeries and also had my gallbladder removed. When I go to the ER complaining of chest and shoulder pain it is NOT because I am a drug seeker. I still have my prescription of demerol in my medicine bag in my vehicle at the Jackson hospital. If I just wanted drugs I would have just taken those. I came to the ER because of my heart history and the amount of pain I was having. Its a sad day when a hospital doesn't give good treatment to a patient just because they have a drug problem in their community. I understand if I had no real health issues and wanted pain meds but to have gone through 2 heart surgeries I think I know real pain. I will not be coming back here because I was just passing through here anyway but if you are a local that is treated this way I would consider filing a complaint. I am trying to get in touch with my insurance company now to make sure they dont pay for anything but the heart monitor I am hooked to because there is no telling what that stupid Tylenol cost

This is an absolutely terrible facility. We have been to Meigs and Gallia clinics for urgent care and they are both worthless! My son broke his collarbone and they showed me the xray and said it was definitely broke. They then proceed to tell me that they can't give him what he needs because the brace/figure 8 sling he needs was just a waste of space and they didn't see enough patients to keep them on hand! Really? They sent me out the door with instructions to go find one myself! So here I am searching! They tell me to be careful when putting it on him because it can grow wrong. What a joke... they aren't concerned at all about patients, just with getting their money. We are so frustrated right now!

They may be friendly up front, but they don't know how much it'll cost you for that extra test they think needs run. Aaaaaand it ended up costing me $100, but I thought insurance should have covered it. I went between my insurer and this medical center for MONTHS and no one could tell me why I was still being charged. No one from this joint even tried to contact me. Unprofessional phone service and the most incompetent billing department I have ever seen.Doctors can be good at their job all they want, but at this point, if they want to sell me up, they can kiss my ass. This busted my holiday budget.

My girlfriend was recently admitted to this facility because of her diabetes and a bleeding ulcer. The doctors said that they would give her a script to treat it knowing she would need to take it every day for the rest of her life. When she was discharged they did not give her the script. They even wanted her to go on a 1200 calorie diet which because where she is a brittle diabetic, would not be safe for her if her sugar gets low. They even tried to give her insulin one time she was admitted when her sugar was only 49. I feel the doctors need to communicate better with the patients and they need to be trained better when they have a brittle diabetic patient.
