I went to Dr. Makipour based on Google Reviews and the fact that he was recommended by my OBGYN. Unfortunately, my experience was not best. I would not recommend him for Hernia repairs.. I had a nice size hernia that was causing me a lot of pain. After surgery, I realized that my hernia was still as large as it was when I went in (never went down). I contacted the office by phone and then eventually went in for a follow up. He said it was swollen and that the large lump will go down. Well, it never did and the pain never went away. I go back again and he tells me that the hernia came back.. Well, it never went away! He then said the most insensitive thing you can ever tell a patient that just paid thousands of dollars to have you fix a problem that didnt get fixed. Well, you just need a bigger mesh and nothing is ever 100%, when you get better insurance, I will do your surgery again. Well needless to say I was pretty heated and found another Dr. by the name of Joshua Carey. Upon reviewing medical records, he did in fact say that the size mesh he used in his opinion was too small for the size hernia I had. I then paid more money to have the hernia repair fixed, and well, no bulge! Its been 2 months so far and no issues. If you are wanting a hernia corrected, I would consider trying a different Dr. and a different facility. This review is based solely on my experience.

Dr. Makipour and his medical assistant Amber are great people! I went to Dr. Makipour for hernia repair surgery and had anxiety about this being my first surgery. Dr. Makipour is straightforward and very reassuring. His medical assistant Amber walked me through all my pre-op paperwork and called to remind me of any appointments. The surgery went great and he and his office followed up with post-op calls. If needing a hernia repair surgeon I would highly recommend Dr. Makipour !

I chose Dr.Makipour to do my gallbladder surgery. He is a nice caring guy pre and post surgery. If I had another gallbladder to remove I would definitely choose him :-)

That man saved my life and gave me more time with my family. Great bed side manner. Answered all questions that i had. His office moves very quickly when i needed things done. That rude bitchy red head that sits at the front is the only reason i didnt give him 5 stars. All times i came to see him she looked like she rather be home. She yelled at me and threw my paperwork. I overheard her saying i dont know why his big ass is coming down here our tables wont hold him either and laughed. When she was walking from the back. I wasnt sure who she was talking bout but i hope she doesnt talk about all his patients that way. She needs to be fired.

When we had an issue at Dr. Makipour's office, he made sure that he personally took the time out of his day to resolve it. I've never had a doctor do what he did for us. The customer service he provided was awesome. I would highly recommend him and his office.

I had weightloss surgery with Dr Makipour May 2015. I can not say enough good things about Dr Makipour as a surgeon. He is caring, patient and an amazing surgeon. Seven months and 90 lbs lighter I would say that he gave me my life back, I'm heading to Mexico tomorrow and for the first time will not be wearing a Moomoo on the beach. :) I would take a surgeon with great skills over one with great bedside manners, but with Dr Makipour you're lucky because you get both.
