I never thought Id be in the market for a plastic surgeon. But then I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and was facing the reality of having a double mastectomy. Suddenly I found myself in the middle of a lot of big choices. I cant say how fortunate I am to have gotten on board with Dr Zegzula. I felt heard and taken care of. I also cant say enough about how amazing his staff is. Any time I called with questions everything was clearly explained to me (and in a compassionate way). I now am 6 months post reconstruction and I am amazed at what he was able to give me. He indeed is a talented surgeon. I thank my lucky stars every day.

I am sharing this feedback of my experience with Dr. Zegzula and his wonderful staff in hopes that it will help other patients with breast cancer find hope in looking very good after surgery.A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the 2nd time. I decided to have a bi-lateral mastectomy to make sure the cancer didn't reoccur. I was grateful to have Dr. Zegzula for my plastic surgeon. He was very kind and professional. He listened closely to my wishes and produced amazing results. Always treating me with respect, he was a good communicator in describing the process and what results I could expect. I am pleased. I highly recommend Dr. Zegzula and his entire team. I was referred to his office from Dr. Nathalie Johnson. Dr. Johnson compled my bilateral mastectomy, and Dr. Zegzula completed my reconstruction. I recently had my exchange surgery (expanders removed and implants placed) w/ fat transfer. Both surgeries went great, and I'm very happy with the results. Dr. Zegzula is a perfectionist, and he has great surgical technique. I look better now then before I had cancer. He helped me make informed treatment decisions by throughly explaining options. His team is wonderful as well, Shannon, Cherrie, and Colleen are very caring and knowledgeable. Front office staff is very kind and welcoming. I have experienced minimal pain throughout my treatment, and couldn't be happier with the care I received. I feel very blessed to have Dr. Zegzula for my surgeon. After my cancer diagnosis I was very scared and nervous about having to have surgery, and he immediately put me at ease. I felt very prepared for everything and couldn't be happier.

My experience with Dr. Zegzula was the worst experience Ive ever had with a medical professional. I was diagnosed with Cancer and had a double mastectomy with reconstruction. Dr. Zegzula came highly recommended from a few people, someone that had her surgery done by him (who later agreed with me that he is very condescending), someone who worked with him (who later also agreed that he isnt very kind), and my breast surgeon (whose nurse later called me to apologize for my experience with him). During my first appointment with him, he started the conversation off by questioning my choice in my cancer treatment, and was so condescending I cried during the appointment. I should have walked out of the office, but I was so overwhelmed with a cancer diagnosis, I went against my better judgement and continued seeing him. And to be clear, I am not someone who needs coddled, but every person, especially someone who has cancer, deserves respect and kindness, and a little compassion.Over the course of my expansion appointments, he continued to be condescending and blatantly rude. He would speak to me like I was a child. I was speechless because I couldnt believe that a highly sought after plastic surgeon was actually treating me this way. I told my husband about it, and asked him if he could come to my next appointment with me, because I was having such bad anxiety before going in. He accompanied me to my next appointment and as Dr. Zegzula left the room, he turned to me with his eyes wide and mouth agape. To make a long story short, I finally talked to his nurse about how I was being treated, she apologized profusely stating that He definitely didnt mean to make you feel this way, let me talk to him and please give him a chance to make this right. I never heard from him. I found a new surgeon, and I am grateful that I did.

Had a breast reduction 3 months ago with Dr. Zegzula he was the best! Portland plastic sugery center was so wonderful from beginning to end. I would highly recommend Zegzula to anyone. I couldNot be happier with my decision .

Dr. Zegzula did my breast reconstruction after a double mastectomy. He did a fabulous job and I experienced none of the horror stories I'd heard from others; like odd shaped expanders, miss directional expanders or mismatched implants. I am thrilled with my new perfectly shaped and sized breasts!
