Overall, I had a great experience with, The Virginia Institute for Surgical Arts. All the staff were professional and very knowledgeable with the Asian blepharoplasty procedure I received. The consultation, pre-op, surgery, and post-op couldnt have went any better. I really appreciate the timely communication and informative guidance I received when trying to determine what I really wanted as my end result. It has only been a few days since the procedure but I am very satisfied with the results so far. The Virginia Institute for Surgical Arts team really went out of their way to accommodate my situation. As this was a major procedure for me, I really took the time to research and identify a potential plastic surgeon. I am really thankful I went with Dr. V and highly recommend them to anyone who is in the market for a plastic surgeon.

I am in the market for full facial rejuvenation. Rhinoplasty, face lift, blepharoplasty, laser, injectables, etc. That's part of why I was so shocked when the manager Cindy was so rude to me. She was quick to ask me for a credit card number but treated me like I was wasting her time and she was annoying when I was just trying to ask questions and get more information on the phone. I have no idea how good Dr. V is but if that is her manager, I'll certainly be taking my money elsewhere. So unprofessional.

I first saw Dr. V this past September 2019, because she does Botox into the masseter muscle of the TMJ joint to ease discomfort of jaw problems. (Yes, it helps). Also, during that same visit, she put small amounts of Botox into my platysma bands to help the look of my turkey neck. We proceeded to discuss my desire for a neck lift to help by drooping jowls, sagging neck and the band area. I left to give it a lot of thought.After one more fall visit to discuss costs, the time table of recovery, questions, fears and concerns, surgery was posted for mid-October. I was prescribed pain meds, an antibiotic and Xanax for fear of the tight bandage as I am claustrophobic. I totally recommend asking for a prescription to ease the discomfort of any anxiety over the first few days.During all of these visits, Dr. V was positive, knowledgeable, respectful of my wishes, confident and approachable. Her staff of Lucian, Cindy, Hedrick and small nursing staff are all personable, pleasant and invested in providing outstanding, NATURAL LOOKING care.My neck lift and under chin liposuction was done using local anesthesia in her sterile, yet beautiful office facility with no problems, totally numb, zero pain and out the door in 4 5 hours. You return the next day for bandage removal, after an interesting but do-able night, and much care is given to your healing and progress.The recovery period at home requires patience and optimistic faith that all will be well and takes about three weeks. I personally had a 10-day family vacation planned 29 days from the surgery. No one in my family remarked or questioned any changes. I felt fine but still remained careful while healing. (No spa, sauna, hard workouts or face-down massages are allowed for several months.) I looked tighter, healthier, but still exactly like myself. Dr. V understands you dont want a Hollywood stretched mouth, nose or eyes look and that you want a natural, refreshed you. I highly recommend this totally professional, but kind and friendly, board-certified gifted surgeon to be your physician. I am blessed I found and chose her on my very first search and that my surgery came out exactly as I had hoped. Do it! Start the New Year with a New You!

I couldn't be happier with my choice of Dr. V as my surgeon. Meeting Dr. V for the first time put me immediately at ease and dispelled any misgivings I had about cosmetic surgery. I attribute this not only to Dr. V's expert and extraordinarily examination of my situation and presentation of options, but, above all, for her a gentle, caring manner, and the sort of kindness you rarely find in doctors anymore. When I was short of money for an additional procedure, Dr. V went ahead with it anyway, allowing me to make payments when I was able to. This courtesy was a gesture not only of her generosity, but a reflection of the standards Dr. V sets for herself. The procedure, though not necessary, was just ideal: the perfect touch that Dr. V wanted. With Dr. V you're in the hands of the most competent of surgeons, an artist with a keen sense of the aesthetic possibilities of each patient, and, rarest of all, a friend.

Dr. Vo-Nguyen should be given 10 stars, she is very professional, yet offers personal assistance as all my issues were addressed no matter what time they occurred. I had the bilateral lower blepharoplasty done to both of my lower eye areas. She tells you before the surgery it will take one to six months for the whole process to work. Actually, after a month, I was totally disappointed as my lower right eye did not have any significant changes. She was willing to address my immediate concerns even though she kept telling me to give it some time. Well after two months my lower eye areas looked better, but just okay, however after three months, my lower eye areas looked great, and I mean my family and siblings noticed a big difference, even though I still have three more months to go for the actual whole healing to take place. She gives you the pros and cons prior to the surgery, yet I was totally focused on being optimistic that it would only take a month to heal. I also didn't focus on all the post surgery requirements until after the surgery, but it's good to know and really understand what's required pre-surgery. Make sure you read the pre-surgery and post-surgery instructions very carefully, so no post-surgery conclusions can be formed prematurely. My premature post-surgery one month conclusion caused unnecessary internal stress, as it was still good to keep the staff and Dr. Vo-Nguyen informed just in case they could help in anyway, but the bottom line it's a process and the time frame given for recovery must be respected. This doctor and her staff are the greatest and kindest folks you want to be able to trust for surgery, and especially to be engaged with during the recovery process, as they did not let me down by being 100 percent about the actual process and what to be expected (the good and the bad). This is why I only could give Dr. Vo-Nguyen the maximum 5 stars, but it's no question she actually deserves 10 stars.
