I have had Grave's TED for several years now and went to Dr. Taban for orbital decompression surgery. After doing some extensive research on the procedure and doctors, I would not have trusted any other doctor with such a complex surgery, which requires extreme talent and expertise. I was lucky to have had the chance to meet with Dr. Taban at the end of 2019 for my procedure. He and his staff are so incredibly kind and caring. I felt like the entire process was efficient, smooth, and clear from pre-op to post-op. Dr. Taban answered all my questions and was very honest with which procedures he thought I needed. I was referred to Dr. Taban through my dermatologist who knew him from the medical school as the smartest, genius guy that even she gets her fillers done by him. I had fillers done by a very well known doctor that made my eyelid to droop and be extra puffy. I went to Dr. Taban for consultation and he was confident that my fillers need to be dissolved. I have been going to different great doctors as there are many of them around but none of them were confident enough to do what he did. Dr. Taban performed lower blepharoplasty on my lower eye lids 3 years ago. It completely changed my life and how it made me feel more confident. Im in my 30s and was always tired of looking tired even though I wasnt. The procedure was done in his office and the results were immediate, only several days of swelling and bruising like any other procedure. I had a great experience with Dr. Taban. Before I saw Dr. Taban, I had a botched upper and lower eyelid surgery with another surgeon and experienced multiple complications. One of the complications I experienced was lower lid retraction. I had lower lid retraction surgery with Dr. Taban to try and fix this problem and he did a wonderful job. The thing about Dr. Taban that I really liked was that he listened to me. The day before I had surgery with him, he spoke with me and gave me a few possible surgical treatment options for my problem. However, he let me make the final decision on what I wanted done. It was so refreshing to have a surgeon with this type of demeanor who really cares about what his patients want. I still have a long way to go in terms of fixing the other complications caused from the original surgeon, so I will definitely be returning to Dr. Taban in the future. He is very skilled at fixing other surgeon's mistakes.

I had interviewed other surgeons both General Plastic and Oculoplastic, but decided I wanted an Oculoplastic surgeon. Experience:Dr. Taban and staff is the best of the best! They dont cut corners at this facility. Everyone is super thorough, kind, and detailed. Excellent, caring Oculoplastic Surgeon. Excellent bedside manner. I had surgery one year ago for lower eyelid fat repositioning (done to get rid of dark and puffy under-eye bags without leaving ANY visible scarring-the incision is done INSIDE of the lid) everything went as expected and my eye shape did NOT change what-so-ever! SCORE!!!!! I wanted to wait one year to see full results prior to leaving this review. Dr. Taban specializes in eyelid surgery and is board certified. I have been VERY happy with my results and I feel normal again! :))) Ps. People used to ask me if I had gotten enough sleep because I always looked tired. And I was like seriously?. I found Dr. Taban after doing a ton of research on Yelp, Instagram & RealSelf. I had very heavily hooded eyes and my field of vision was becoming more limited. The first time that I consulted with him I did it via FaceTime to avoid LA traffic. He suggested that I needed upper blepharoplasty & ptosis surgery and that I was also a candidate for lower blepharoplasty. I figured that since I was doing it I'd just do it all. I made my appointment then went in for my pre op. He confirmed what he told me via FaceTime although I elected to forego the ptosis surgery. I don't mind my lazy eyelids, have super dry eyes and didn't want to take any chances exacerbating the problem. I went in on a Thursday morning at 6:30am and was finished around 8:00am. The surgery went according to plan! The staff is nice, Dr. Taban is very professional & answered all my questions before, during & after the surgery. It has been almost 7 weeks, everything is healing very well & I don't feel like I have blinders on anymore!!!

I am 3 months post-lower blepharoplasty with Dr. Taban. Beforehand, I went to three different consults and read everything I could find on the doctors multiple times. Dr. Taban gave me his opinion, but listened to what I preferred. I think its important to talk about what you do like about your features in addition to what you want to change so he can help you make the best decisions that will satisfy you. I had genetic protruding fat pads under my eyes with people saying I looked tired even in my 20s after a full nights sleep. My friends tell me I look like myself, but like Im fully awake. One person couldnt put their finger on it, but asked if I had gotten an amazing facial. Im so happy with my results, and am thankful I found him.The day of the procedure, I surprised myself by not being nervous and I attribute this to the trust in Dr. Tabans abilities after my consult combined with the research. A big draw in why I went through with the lower bleph was Dr. Tabans emphasis on repositioning v. removal, and how comfortable he is doing local in-office procedures because I traveled from out of town to have it done. There was no pain, I went back to my hotel and slept and iced before flying home the next day. I was solo and recommend packing very light because carrying a heavy bag was probably the biggest concern as it applies pressure to your face. But overall, and this may not be for everyone, a treatment that seemed too good to be true as an in-office procedure, really was simple to go in and have done and recover from. His staff is on the ball, and the surgical coordinator is down to earth and friendly in her explanations.What sticks out to me about Dr. Taban is that he seems passionate about what he does. He is quick to personally respond to questions before and after the procedure where others have their nurse practitioners respond. When I asked questions during the consult, he was patient and kept asking if I had more where another surgeon cut me off and told me to read their website. Another aspect where this shows is through the papers hes published. Many times doctors who focus on academic research do not have as much procedural practice, so having both qualities is a reassuring combination. I also read to look for someone with a cosmetic facial plastic surgery fellowship in addition to Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery fellowship, and he has both where others didnt.

Although he is skilled, he wasnt completely transparent with me, Ive reached out to a few of his patients and most of them have the same issue that I face which was that his approach to almond eye surgery shortened my eyelids so much and left them beady.This was a betrayal in his part because I consulted him on Skype before I left my country, he mentioned that he could lengthen (my already shortened eyes), once I paid the deposit to book my surgery in Beverly Hills, I mentioned what he said and he told me without blinking no its complicated I cant lengthen the eyes. Little did I know after I dim-wittingly decided to undergo the surgery anyway that my eyes would be shortened even further. Ive reached out to a few people who have undergone his surgery and they ALL face the same problems (one of the reasons why he doesnt show full faces in his before and after), and one of the people I reached out to cant even drive at night. Moreover I developed entropion, where I have to pluck some of my eyelashes because of the pain of blinking is unbearable.I regret this surgery deeply and wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy.

Dr. Taban is amazing!! I had one droopy eye that made me appear as though I had a stroke. I was planning to see a plastic surgeon for help, but needed to research surgeons first. Then, one day before a vacation my daughter convinced me to go with her to get filler under my eyes at a walk-in, low cost clinic. Unfortunately, I agreed and was left with lumps of filler all over under both eyes. I had a hard time seeing out of my left eye because they put so much filler under that eye that it pushed my lower lid Into my field of vision. I spoke with my dermatologist and she said Dont ever let anyone touch your eyes, but Dr. Taban!. I immediately made an appointment, and had surgery to get all filler removed and the droopy eye corrected by Dr. Taban. Dr. Taban is the best!! I flew all the way from Chicago to see him for a very complex issue - festoons. I am fairly young and wanted to go to a doctor that I trusted. Not only is Dr. Taban extremely talented but is also humble, compassionate, and caring towards his patients (this isnt always easy to find!). He was never rushed - he took his time to walk me through my options and talk in detail about the issue at hand. We decided on using Lyft and I couldnt be happier with my results. He is truly a skilled injector and an artist to be able to fill such a precise area. He gave me extremely realistic expectations when I met him that I greatly appreciated. He said I could expect to see at least a 50% improvement after the treatment but I actually think he surpassed that greatly! I am so at ease and much more confident in my appearance thanks to Dr. Taban. Long story short, Dr. Taban is simply the best! I had my initial surgery to correct ptosis. It didn't work and the results were not pretty. For my right eyelid, the inner half of the eyelid still needed to be lifted. For my left eyelid, it was still droopy and there was a skin fold that prevented the crease of theeyelid from being present. Suffice it to say, I was not happy. I honestly thought that things looked worse than before. I was apprehensive and nervous about getting more surgery to fix this.However, I consider myself extremely fortunate because I found Dr. Taban!I came across his Instagram page. After seeing his wonderful work, I decided todo a FaceTime consult. After that, I flew to California for the surgery. For my left eyelid, he performed a ptosis revision surgery using the internal approach. He also excised the extra skin fold. For the right eyelid, he used the external approach to lift the inner half of the eyelid. A few months later,I went back to get filler in the left eyelid to make things looks more symmetrical. I am extremely happy with my results!Aside from how skilled Dr. Taban is, I just wanted to mention how kind and caring he and his whole staff are! I felt comfortable and not worried at all because I knew that I was in good hands. I cannot recommend Dr. Taban enough if you are considering any type of oculoplastic surgery. I am forever grateful and I know that I will never go to anyone except Dr. Taban.

He was more knowledgeable and uses the most advanced technique and newest technology And at a better price, it was a no brainer. I can honestly say my results with upper and lower Blepharoplasty improved 110%. I was so pleased with my results that I cannot thank him enough it was a life-changing and one of my best investments. I used to have quite deep, dark undereye hollows. I'm 33, and I've had them as long as I can remember. If your undereyes look like mine and it bothers you, my advice is to stop what you're doing right now and set up a consult with Dr. Mehryar Taban.I'm amazed at the difference, not only in my appearance, but also in my daily makeup routine. I can now leave the house without makeup and not get asked if I'm sick (yes, this used to happen). I don't spend excessive time trying to load on layers of undereye concealer. It has simplified and improved my life even more than I expected it would.Dr. Taban is absolutely the man for the job. He's efficient and deeply knowledgeable. I chose him because his website and Instagram provide volumes of photos and videos of his work. I found it reassuring to know that he's done many thousands of these procedures.The idea of having eye surgery while you're awake may seem intimidating. I'll admit I was pretty nervous. But the procedure is quite short (45 minutes) and Dr. Taban and his team are calm and friendly. It was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be, and the results are more than worth it.

I was super nervous about any procedure done on my eyes, (Face) even when I knew I needed it done. He made me feel very at ease when explaining everything to me. Dr. Taban performed a lower blepharoplasty, he knew exactly how much skin to remove, and I no longer have droopy, baggy pockets under my eyes. I could not be happier with these results. When my daughter was 15 she had a fireworks accident and lost her right eye. Her surgery for the removal was done in our hometown inKentucky, and done well however her eyelid was droopy and her eyes were not level with the prosthetic. As she is now 18 we travelled to Los Angeles to see a new Ocularist and was pointed to Dr. Taban for her droopy eye condition. He fit us in for a quick surgery as we had very little time in LA. I live in NJ so I was torn on seeing a Dr in NYC or California. I think ultimately I chose Cali because Dr. Taban specializes in eyes, I could make a vacation of it, and it was half the price for a doctor just as good and guessing better at that point. I was right. His staff courteous, and Dr Taban himself as professional as they come. I had upper eyelids done and my eyes look beautiful, they look like MY eyes 10-15 years ago. Although he told me to take it easy for a day or two, I was on vacation and went hiking 3 hours later. I would recommend him highly and I rarely take time to write reviews. Awesome!

I found Dr. Taban through my amazing filler and botox person (Skinspecifics) one day I just asked her if you were me what would you do?. I expected her to suggest fillers, but instead she suggested I get my eye bags done. She explained that its outpatient, easy and has a quick recovery and recommended Dr. Taban. I had no idea this could be done let alone that its simple! A week later I had a consultation with Dr. Taban, I was immediately impressed by his experience and attention to detail. He clearly lives and breathes these types of eye enhancements! My surgery went very well, Dr Taban talked me through everything - he works so quickly - everything was done in about 45 minutes! I was awake the entire time but couldnt feel any discomfort. He started with filler in my upper lids, then he removed extra skin from my upper lids and lastly he repositioned fat from my cheeks to my lower lids to smoothen out my eye bags. He also removed extra skin from my lower lids in the process. The healing process went surprisingly smoothly, I didnt have discomfort, just a lot of swelling and some bruising and blurry vision initially. I definitely hid at home for a week and used big sunglasses when I went out. But everything healed quickly I was able to teach a class on day 9 just putting concealer over a couple areas that were still bruised. The surgery was a couple months ago now and I look so much younger, I am so happy I did this. You cant see any scars and people dont notice I had work done, they just tell me I look great. Thank you Dr. Taban for making a huge impact on my life, I feel so much joy putting on makeup in the mornings!

Dr. Taban fixed my eyes that were ruined from 3 previously botched surgeries. I only wish I had found him sooner so that I wouldn't have wasted time, money, and emotional stress on expensive revisions with bad results. If you are looking for a specialist to fix your eyes, make sure you go to a good oculoplastic surgeon like Dr. Taban. I cannot recommend him enough.

His staff is rude and unprofessional my wife was pointed at by the front office staff when they inquired about her chart. Mind you there was o my one other person in the tiny office. It was very rude. Because we had no idea what they were discussing. Overt rudeness of Zaira Cruz defies the word. The staff encounter was an eye opener. When my wife was called into room. DR.Taban was racing through consult. He was short and unprofessional with his opinions. Thanks to his staff and his attitude we would never recommend him.

I could not be more grateful that I went to Doctor Taban for my eyelid surgery. Before seeing Doctor Taban, I had seen three plastic surgeons about a mild, yet unsightly, bulge above my eyelids. All three of the previous doctors told me that I had excess fat and/or skin and that I basically needed a blepharoplasty - the most common cosmetic eyelid surgery. My husband, who knew of Doctor Taban, insisted that I see him before we made our decision about my eyes... and thank goodness I did! Unbeknownst to me, the bulge above my eyelids was not excess fat or skin at all! It was prolapsed lacrimal glands - meaning it was my tear ducts that were pushed out too far. Doctor Taban needed to simply cut open my eyelids and push my lacrimal glads (my tear ducts) back further into my eye socket (where they should be). My surgery went perfectly. The only part that was painful, was at the beginning when shots were applied around my eyes for numbing. Other than that, the entire procedure was painless as was the recovery as well. Now, I am completely happy with my results and am entirely grateful that I went to Doctor Taban. I saw Dr. Taban recently with an insecurity of some visible wrinkles on my forehead. I went in without having getting any Botox done before and he made me feel very comfortable and was very informative of what he was exactly doing. I highly recommend him!

He was very cruel. I was depressed for quite a while after our virtual session. He was hurried. His desk had junk food trash on it. He looked at my face and gave me a disgusted look and said that nothing could help. I have since been to other surgeons and did not have this horrible experience. I think he advertises that he can fix uneven eyes, but truthfully he cannot. He is simply preying on desperate people and taking their money. He is a total scammer. I would not trust him to do any serious surgical treatment. I had originally found him on Instagram. His photos show great before and after of people who have more serious asymmetry than i. I think now they are all photo shopped and fake. If you are sensitive about your body, this is NOT the doctor to go to. Stay away.
