Dr. Cavanaugh told me about the under-the-tongue allergy drops and started me on them about three-and-a-half years ago. They worked, and I stopped taking them a month ago because the allergy symptoms are pretty well gone. I still take a daily allergy pill, but all the other symptoms like itchy eyes just didn't happen this spring. Such a relief! Amazingly, my identical twin sister has been getting monthly allergy shots for nearly 40 years -- and is still getting them! I much prefer the allergy drops approach, which saved me from monthly doctor visits and shots -- and the expense of both. I talked my brother-in-law into the drops, as he hates shots, and he is also doing well. The drops are a wonderful alternative.

Dr. Cavanaugh is a wonderful pediatric and adult ENT. My 4 year old had a tonsilectomy and adenoidectomy just last month and the procedure went exactly as Dr. Cavanaugh explained to us. He is now and will continue to be our family's ENT.

While we were happy with the surgery performed by Dr. Cavanaugh, I agree with other reviews saying the office staff and customer service are atrocious. They were rude and short with us on multiple visits and phone conversations, and the nurse has zero bedside manner. Office staff has no training or understanding of how insurance and billing work, which cost me several hours on the phone with them and insurance trying to help them understand deductibles and co-pays. They even refused to refund a credit that resulted from charging us some of what insurance had already paid. They said their policy is to keep the credit on file in case we ever come back in. As in if my son needs his tonsils out again?? Please beware... sketchy and unpleasant experience for us all around.

I saw Dr. Cavanaugh a little over a year ago for the first time. I had been suffering from repeated sinusitis for a number of years, going from doctor to doctor seeking help. Most of the time they just prescribed antibiotics. One told me that I would probably eventually need surgery. I asked one ENT PA if being sick all fall and winter every year was what I was going to have to live with for the rest of my life and she said 'yes!'. Eventually a friend suggested that I go to National Jewish. They didn't find the cause either. Thankfully I went to a new primary care physician who referred me to Dr. Cavanaugh. He was able to diagnose my problem and I am thrilled to say that I have my life back! I have not had sinusitis in over a year! I am deeply grateful to Dr. Cavanaugh. He is extremely thorough, compassionate and an outstanding diagnostician. I highly recommend Dr. Cavanaugh!

I was recently treated by Dr. Cavanaugh for a Lipoma on my neck.Surgery consisted of a 2 in. incision on the left side of my neck, behind and under my ear. It went well and post-operative pain was minimal.I followed Dr C's instruction for wound and scar care and I am very pleased with the results. At a wedding 2 weeks after surgery, no one noticed my scar unless I pointed it out.I highly trust and recommend Dr. Cavanaugh's surgical skills.

Dr. Cavanaugh performed by 9 year old's tonsillectomy and we couldn't be more pleased. Dr C took great care to clearly communicate what was going to happen in the surgery and what to expect recovery wise. He called to check in after the surgery and in our follow-up appointment he reinforced once again what to expect in the last week of healing. No surgery is a good time, but we couldn't be happier with Dr. Cavanaugh.

Dr Kevin was amazing with my 3 year old girl as she calls him 'the man' was very kind, sweet and caring. She had her tonsils and adenoids removed and the surgery went wonderful. The front staff was so kind to my daughter every single time we went in they really interacted with her. She enjoyed going to visit 'the man' even after surgery. A big thank you to 'the man' and all of his staff!!!

Dr. Cavanaugh was extremely patient, caring and knowledgeable. He was able to help me with a myriad of symptoms (dizziness, head pressure, etc...). He really cared about helping me and had the knowledge and expertise to diagnose and treat me. Thank you! I highly recommend!

Beware of the billing department. Never received 1 statement in the mail of what I owed. Never received even 1 courtesy call to inform me of past due statements but 8 months later sent to collections with no option to rectify the situation except to go through collections. I've never dealt with a doctors office who doesn't at least try sending a statement certified mail or picks up the phone. I would have cleared up my amount owed immediately. I had no idea. Be careful and make sure you handle your own statements so you do not end up in collections almost a year later as I did.

I thought he was a little crazy. I went in for sinus issues and he told me it was acid reflux. What he saw made sense, translucent tonsils equals acid reflux. But what did that have to do with my sinuses? I followed his plan and sure enough, no more sinus infections. I'm off the medications for my acid reflux and now just watching my diet.

Over the years, we've had very good experiences with Dr. Cavanaugh and team. More than ten years ago Dr. Cavanaugh put tubes in our daughter ears, and he recently removed her tonsils. Both surgeries were managed with a degree of excellence and our daughter's experience was very positive. Dr. Cavanaugh takes the time to ask the right questions and cares about his patients. Most importantly, during the time of preparing and leading up to surgery, as well as post-op, we felt very well informed. Dr. Cavanaugh was very helpful, and we felt well prepared as to how best care for her tonsillectomy recovery. Dr. Cavanaugh is a wonderful doctor, we highly recommend his excellent service, medical expertise, professionalism, and patient care.

I was referred to Dr. Cavanaugh for a tonsillectomy after years of chronic tonsillitis and other problems. Dr. Cavanaugh was quick to agree that they needed to be removed, and was very thorough in telling me what to expect from the surgery. There were some scheduling difficulties to overcome, and Dr. Cavanaugh was gracious enough to squeeze me in for surgery the following week. My surgery went great, and I felt comfortable knowing what to expect in the coming weeks. What really stood out to me was that Dr. Cavanaugh called me on multiple occasions in the days following my surgery to make sure I was doing well and wasn't experiencing any complications or unnecessary pain. As an adult, I was aware that the recovery was going to be rough, but I have felt taken care of through this entire process. I would highly recommend Dr. Cavanaugh to anybody that needs his services-he takes care of his patients in a way that most doctors these days don't take the time to do. I am grateful that I was referred to Dr. Cavanaugh, because I truly received first rate care from him and his entire team.

Dr. Cavanaugh is an excellent doctor that I highly recommend, I was told by another ENT that I needed surgery to fix my sinus issues. Dr. Cavanaugh came up with an alternative solution to surgery, I can breathe again, I can sleep at night and I have never felt better. This is an amazing doctor with a great staff.

If you wanted to be treated like a real person and not just some patient in a long line of patients go see Dr. Cavanaugh. After an ER visit I was admitted to the hospital for a very severe and recurring condition. The hospital staff could do nothing for me except for attempt to stop my episode only to have it start again within a few hours. Dr. Cavanaugh was reassuring in a very frightening time and was very available. The Dr. went far above and beyond what I have ever seen a specialist or primary care physician do for a patient by being reachable and continuing to offer solutions to my challenging condition. While it took multiple procedures the issue was resolved and I was assured that there were additional steps that could be taken if I continued to have any issues. The doctors office staff was excellent and very caring. While I was having a much longer than expected procedure in his office they even bought lunch for my wife while she waited.Absolute professional with care for the persons well being!

We had a problem that appeared to be an allergy issue in most ways, but allergy tests were negative. Our very good family doctor continued investigating allergies, meanwhile my 3rd grade daughter spent a year sniffling, blowing her nose, and talking like she had a clogged nose, leading to distraction in school of herself and others, loss of sleep, and failure to be as thriving and successful as her potential. A friend recommended Dr. Cavanaugh and in one office visit he quickly discovered that her adenoids were too large and should be removed. They helped us feel confident and comfortable about the diagnosis, got surgery scheduled efficiently (which saved us money due to insurance reasons), and provided excellent pre-op, operative, and post-op care. Dr. Cavanaugh is clearly very smart and capable. He is an excellent doctor with a great staff, and his expertise changed our daughter's life for the better!

I have struggled with vertigo for the last four years. I have been to two different doctors and gone through a series of tests resulting in several potential solutions. However, while the symptoms have improved, they have not gone away. After seeing Dr. Cavanaugh I am no longer having any symptoms. It has only been a month, but for the first time in years I am feeling normal and looking forward to getting back to my activities.

I am very unimpressed with the level of service of this office. I went there two times, the second because the Dr. Cavanaugh wanted to follow up with me on the first appointment I had primarily to address major ear pain and inability to hear, in addition to me wanting to address a chronic coughing issue I had.First off, plan on waiting 30 minutes after your scheduled appointment to see the doctor. They are not prompt by any means, and don't seem care about the time of the patient.Furthermore, once Cavanaugh saw me we were only scheduled for 10 minutes. This astounds me because in the majority of offices I visit I get scheduled for at least a half hour. The time isn't such a bother since we were able to address one issue I came in for, not the second issue but I would settle for a second visit for that problem, but because of the amount he charges for that 10 minutes of time, which I'll get to shortly. The general manager there is an extremely curt and unhelpful person. When I called shortly before my appointment to determine whether I should come in for my second appointment, which I had scheduled earlier and had not received a reminder call or voicemail for (they told me they'd call to confirm the day before), I wanted to know whether we should delay the appointment since the things Cavanaugh wanted me to work on hadn't quite taken effect with my ear issues. The first conclusion she jumps to is that I'm trying to cancel and that there is a cancellation fee for that. I asked her if she could confer with the doctor to see if it would be beneficial for me to come in today or delay a few days and she quite rudely stated that he's busy and that I should come to my scheduled appointment, basically telling me any change in my ear pain or any effect or lack of effect of any recommendations from the doctor doesn't matter to this appointment. The thing I have the greatest problem with is their billing standards. They have a base fee of $150 for their 10-minute appointments, which, while not too unreasonable for an office visit, is quite high for such a short period of time. The thing that bugs me is that they double billed me for the time. During the visit, Cavanaugh performed a procedure on my ears to clear the canals. During the same time that was originally scheduled for the base office visit fee of $150, he completed the procedure. Except, instead of qualifying it as part of the visit, they decide to bill me another $190 for the time that was already covered by the $150. Seems a bit extreme for me. I still have ear pain and, although I certainly dont blame Cavanaugh for it since diagnosis can be difficult, Im unimpressed that I would have to visit yet again for another visit and experience all the same sub par customer service and pay another $300-$400 for 10 minutes of time to try to solve an issue I had come for two times before. All in all, what came out of my pocket was $390 for under 30 minutes of actual time with Dr. Cavanaugh. Insurance covered some of it, but Id still be writing this review if they had paid all of it. Double billing for time seems a ludicrous business practice to me, and if someone wants to pay cash here know that they will likely be billing you $1200 an hour. If your insurance isnt so great, youll be hit with maybe $800 an hour. This place is probably really great for clients that have terrific insurance that can cover the full amount, but still, should they be getting paid, by you or by insurance, $1200/hr for poor customer service, 10 minute appointments that dont address the problem the first or the second time, and a 30 minute wait doing nothing with the opportunity to be productive elsewhere in life? Id say no, but you can make that decision yourself.Dr. Cavanaugh himself is a pretty knowledgeable and nice guy, however, the support staff, billing policies, and general experience of going to this office are abysmal. I couldn't imagine anyone billing their clients $1200 an hour unless they were one of the best attorneys in the world or a surgeon. Cavanaugh is neither of these.

I've had a chronic condition with my nose that if felt like it was always stuffed up & made it difficult to breathe. Dr Cavanaugh performed my surgery to clear up nasal cavity & also cauterized my throat to help my snoring condition. Doc has not let up on helping me find my optimum comfort range and continues to tweak my treatment plan to help me gain my best health! I'd highly recommend Dr Cavanaugh and his staff to anyone needing a skilled OTO / ENT Doc!

Dr. Kevin is a savior. I came in with an apparent severe case of Swimmer's Ear after a week long vacation to Cali. We went to the ER 3 times before we went here and nothing came of it other than it got worse so we were running out of hope. Then we went here and we met Dr. Kevin and he had it fixed up in a few days. This man is a legend and also looks like Bill Gates so that's a plus too. lol

I suffered with severe headaches and other symptoms for almost a year after a tooth extraction left me with a chronic sinus infection. Having a Science and Engineering background myself, I recognized that Dr. Cavanaugh's meticulous attention to detail and scientific approach to diagnosis and treatment would likely lead to success. It did, and it feels good to have healthy sinuses again!

I have had vertigo issues for the past 3 years and even went to Denver Ear and the Mayo Clinic. Still, nothing seemed to fix it. I saw Dr. Cavanaugh in October and he performed his version of the Epley maneuver on me, but more importantly helped me identify the root cause. Since late October, I have been Vertigo free and it's now late February. That is the longest I have gone without vertigo. Thanks Dr. C!

Went in for a sore throat that wouldn't go away. Dr. Cavanaugh diagnosed me with acid reflux. He put me on a prescription regimen (which were available otc, but cheaper with a prescription through my insurance) that was able to get my acid under control.

I thought there was no solution for the Tinnitus I'd been suffering for years. It was getting worse and interfering with conversations. Im in technical support and on the phone much of the day and thought I'd have to get hearing aids. After an in-office hearing test by the audiologist, Gina Muhlberg, it was determined I did not have a hearing loss warranting hearing aids. I thought, Now what? What is left to do?Dr. Cavanaugh examined my ears, nose and throat and determined the best solution. All I needed to do was to stop clenching my teeth! This is easier said than done, but after a month of practicing awareness of jaw clenching I had 20% reduction of tinnitus. And Dr. Cavanaugh said he thinks I can get this ringing to be intermittent rather than constant! Now Im using a mouth guard at night and expecting great results.

For 9 months I was struggling with chronic neck and jaw pain. I also had headaches and dizziness. I visited 16 specialists and had a myriad of tests done. Although each doctor said everything was normal, I knew in my heart there was something wrong. I had even contemplated calling Mayo Clinic and setting up appointments there. I decided to go visit Dr. Cavanaugh. At my first appointment, Dr. Cavanaugh patiently went over my medical history and suggested I have an exam to see if I had vertigo. He also concurred that these symptoms could possibly be from clenching my teeth. His recommendations were to begin Physical Therapy and to wear a mouth guard while sleeping. Within a few weeks my dizziness had disappeared, my neck started to feel so much better, my jaw began to feel less locked and my headaches were gone. I am so relieved that Dr. Cavanaugh was able to help me get back to a normal life for my family. I truly appreciate his medical expertise and I highly recommend him.

In July of 2015, I suffered a surfing accident that injured my left tympanic membrane. Dr. Cavanaugh determined that I had a 40% tear in the membrane. He explained very clearly the implications and the possible treatments. He suggested we try the simplest of methods to repair it, a paper patch over the perforation. He warned me that the chances of success weren't great, but it was worth a first attempt as it was simple and more cost effective. I agreed as I didn't want to have surgery (one of the treatment options). Dr. Cavanaugh left no doubt that this was a bit of a long-shot. After the procedure, he was very accommodating when I had concerns that the patch came off and got me in quickly to check on it. All was well though.Just yesterday, he removed the patch and was extremely surprised to find that the perforation healed up completely! Mine was the largest perforation that he had ever healed by that technique.I'd like to thank Dr. Cavanaugh for being so professional and willing to try the simplest of procedures first before jumping straight to surgery. He saved me from a great deal of expense and discomfort.

My experience with Dr. Cavanaugh has been exceptional. He is truly a gifted doctor. My relationship with Dr. Cavanaugh and his staff goes back four years when I first visited him about difficulty in breathing. His concern went directly to my well-being as he recommended completing a sleep study to rule out the potentially fatal event of sleep apnea. After the sleep study came back normal, he began diving into questioning aspects of my life, what I eat, what I do in my free time, etc. and he made me feel comfortable to open up to him. He was sure to exhaust every option there was before surgery. He determined that my nose was deviated in two places, and that was the cause to my breathing problems. A few years later I had a good job that offered great health insurance. I went back to see Dr. Cavanaugh to re-visit the idea of correcting my deviation. We decided surgery was the only option to correct this. This was my first surgery and I was pretty nervous. Going under for the first time is unnerving because I did not know how my body would react to the anesthesia or other elements. Dr. Cavanaugh reassured me and made me feel comfortable. After the surgery it turned out that not only was my septum deviated, but it had been fractured due to blunt force trauma for years. The surgery was only supposed to be 90 minutes, but Dr. Cavanaugh took swift action to correct the fracture as well, extending the length of the surgery to a little over three hours. When I woke up I surprisingly enough could breath unbelievable well and I noticed an immediate change in the increase of air flow in my nostrils. When I went home I waited for the effects of the anesthesia to ware off. The night after the surgery I sneezed and was concerned because my nose started bleeding. I paged Dr. Cavanaugh and within minutes he returned my call on a friday night to address my concerns and to lend comforting words indicating a sneeze would not affect the results of the surgery. The next day I had another concern, and again Dr. Cavanaugh called me within minutes, this time I could tell he was with his family as I heard children in the back ground. This shows true dedication and a committment to patients to see a doctor go out of his way to address his clients needs and concerns. I respect Dr. Cavanaugh more than any other doctor I have visited and I am sure he gave me the best possible experience and results I could have hoped for. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone in need of a skilled and experienced Otolaryngologist who takes the needs of his clients first. I am confident that anyone in the care of Dr. Cavanaugh is in the care of the best doctor with the broadest skill set capable of performing amazing procedures which prove to be life changing. I know my procedure was life changing and now I can enjoy life with the ability to breath through my nose. Thank you Dr. Cavanaugh for everything, words cannot express my gratitude.

All the staff and Dr. Cavanaugh are so caring and helpful! I had gone to FOUR doctors and was completely dismissed by all of them. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Cavanaugh, he took a sample, and admitted me to the hospital that day with a branchial cleft cyst that was infected. If it weren't for him and his extremely strong work ethic I would've been in incredible pain for much longer! I'm soooo grateful I found them :)

I went to see Dr. Cavanaugh for a problem I was having. He gave me a through exam and said that perhaps a contributing factor was acid reflux. I was really surprised to hear this, as I have never experienced heart burn etc. He prescribed some medication, but the best advice he gave me was to change my diet! After one month, I have never felt better in my life! It turns out that I am one of 1000's that suffer from 'silent' acid reflux. If I hadn't consulted Dr. Cavanaugh I may never have discovered this condition. I can't thank Dr. Cavanaugh enough! And the problem for which I originally sought treat has greatly improved as well. Thanks again, Dr. Cavanaugh!

Dr. Cavanaugh has literally turned my wife's life around. For long time she has suffered vertigo, facial and sinus pain and hoarseness. Two other doctors diagnosed her with an acute sinus infection yet none of their treatments solved the problem. Finally she went to Dr. Cavanaugh upon a friend's recommendation fully expecting she would need surgery. Surgery turned out to not be necessary inasmuch as Dr. Cavanaugh had her sinus infection gone in a couple of weeks. For years she had lived with on and off vertigo and it was getting more frequent and worse. Dr. Cavanaugh's treatment gave her instant improvement and after a few months her vertigo is totally gone. She see it as a medical miracle...I am sure Dr. Cavanaugh sees it as good medical practice. She also has experienced almost constant hoarseness for years. Dr. Cavanaugh diagnosed the cause as acid reflex and without any medications his recommendations and treatments has her acid reflex under control and her hoarseness gone!!!Dr. Cavanaugh is skilled, caring doctor...we recommend him highly!!

After suffering six weeks of relentless vertigo, my PCP referred me to Dr. Kevin Cavanaugh who patiently and compassionately listened to my concerns. Dr. Cavanaugh concluded an Epley treatment would benefit my condition. As quickly as the vertigo overwhelmed me, Dr. Cavanaughs treatment healed me. A few years passed when I began suffering severe onset headaches which lead to various tests and a return visit to Dr. Cavanaugh. Once again, Dr. Cavanaugh patiently listened to my symptoms while asking thoughtful and educated questions. After only two visits, my medical condition resolved significantly. Dr. Cavanaugh treats the whole person, thinking outside the box with long lasting therapeutic results. I hope I dont have to see Dr. Cavanaugh again soon but I certainly would not hesitate if I did! Dr. Cavanaugh has proven to me he is a forward-thinking physician whose patients welfare is first and foremost.

I experienced balance issues, dizziness, and headaches for over five months. After numerous tests, including an echocardiogram and brain MRI, and no diagnosis, I was referred to Dr. Cavanaugh. During my first appointment, the doctor took the time to dig deep into my health history and list of symptoms. He informed me that the source of my issues was both an inner ear problem and teeth grinding or clenching of the jaw. Dr. Cavanaugh treated the inner ear problem over the course of two weeks, and my balance issues disappeared after the final treatment. He recommended wearing a mouth guard at night which has helped eliminate the headaches. The doctor also recommended a physical therapist to help release the tension in my neck caused by the grinding and clenching. The PT has worked wonders. I am know able to walk in a straight line and have not had a dizzy spell since I began seeing the physical therapist. I appreciate Dr. Cavanaugh's attention to detail and problem solving skills. It is obvious from reading the other reviews that Dr. Cavanaugh has a knack for finding the source of patients' issues that other specialists could not. He also seems concerned about finding low cost, yet effective solutions to these problems. He is not a doctor who thoughtlessly orders test after test. I highly recommend Dr. Cavanaugh. Thanks, Doc.
