Ive been going to Shannon Mortensen for several years now and have always had a positive, friendly and timely experience every time. Shannon is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to listen and explain. In fact, the entire staff of North Idaho Dermatology out of the Moscow clinic are exceptional! From regular skin care needs to Botox they are the go to!

FIND A DIFFERENT PLACE!! I had a $500 bill AFTER INSURANCE and have been making regular payments since I got the bill. LITERALLY THE ONLY EXTRA MONEY I HAVE and I noticed my payments started being returned. Apparently my money isnt good enough... so after the second returned payment, I called them. The first day I left a message, no returned phone call. The next day I called and talked to the receptionist because billing wasnt answering AGAIN. She informed me that my account was in for collections and they would only accept the full payment and that they dont do small payments... Umm what?! Going over my bill I notice that Im being charged 12% INTEREST FROM THE OFFICE ITSELF. How can you send someone to collections who has been making regular payments and doing their best to do everything right?!??! And the kicker is that not once have they tried to call to contact me! Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!! Give it to an office that isnt money hungry and out to hurt the common person who cant afford $500 right out of pocket!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had to bring 2 of my daughters here and every time the staff, nurse practitioners and doctors have been so great. They take time to explain, listen and come up with the best solutions for everyone involved and make my kids feel really comfortable. This office is great.

Really impressed with the level of professionalism that this place has. They have lots of receptionists and front desk help, their check in system is top of the line and quick, and the providers really care about me and making sure I'm comfortable. I've never been to a medical office that was so organized, efficient, and friendly. Way to go NI Derm!

This dermatology clinic is really unprofessional and lacks good business communication skills. I inquired them over the phone, email and social media about getting one of their services. I was either intentionally hanged up on or completely ignored. If this is how a business operates then they don't deserve to have anyone's business expecially mine.

I've been to a few Dermatologists. Being pale skinned and coming from S. Cal and not wearing sunscreen as a kid set me up for a lot of treatment. Dr. Craig and his team are first rate! Highly recommend them and they are now the only place I will go. Thank you for the amazing quality of care!

The front office staff is professional, polite, friendly and efficient. I get light treatments and they are always on time. The girl who assists with the light treatment is wonderful also. I had Mohs surgery done twice and only can say good things about this office. Front desk, Nurses and Doctors are so helpful and very professional. I saw different dermatologists but no comparison to NID.....they are the best. Doctor Craig is my hero, I can hardly see the scar even though it has only been a week since the surgery. Thank you so much to the NID team.

At check in, only two receptionists available. One receptionist helping an elderly lady who apparently needed a lot of assistance in finding her insurance cards in her purse, etc. My point being, that by the time I was able to get to a receptionist for check-in, it was past my appointment time and there were 6 other patients in line behind me. This is not acceptable. Someone should have asked for more help to come to the front to help check patients in.

I had a severe dermatitis flare up right before a mandatory trip. After an on-line search & a few phone calls; I was blessed to reach Tammy. She took all of my insurance info and would try her best to squeeze me in the next day. Tammy not only managed to fit me in; but she was very empathetic to my situation and discomfort. I only wish I could have THANKED her in person. My 2 visits were successful in alleviating my painful, red, raw, itchy skin.

Most recent appointment was three month post-op checkup Mohs surgery on nose. Repeat steroid injections to area. Given local block beforehand making the procedure more tolerable. Dr. Ringger is an excellent doctor. His bedside manner alone has an incredible positive healing effect.

This place jacked me around for three months about getting medical records on pathology for a biopsy. After being told multiple times they had the record, I finally was able to speak to a doctor who said no such record had been received. I scheduled and received a biopsy, receiving results almost three weeks later, despite being told it would take a week. In addition, I had to call them. I never received a call from their nursing staff. I then scheduled for the growth on my leg to be removed and arrived twelve minutes early for the appointment. I asked if they had pre-authorized the surgery and the receptionist said no. I asked her if she knew the CPT codes so I could call the insurance company for authorization and she didnt know. She didnt check me in until 4 minutes after my appointment time and when I was called in the nurse told me it was now 15 minutes past my appointment time. I had been told when I scheduled my appointment they would pre-authorize with my insurance company so I asked her about it. The nurse told me they had no responsibility to pre-authorize a procedure, that it was up to me. She suggested I re-schedule since it was so late after my scheduled appointment. At this point I was so disappointed in the service, I asked for my medical records and left. I went to another dermatologist and discovered they hadnt given me a copy of the pathology report. I had to go back yet again to retrieve it, so I could get my surgery done elsewhere. (Just as an aside, the new dermatology provider said they would pre-authorize my procedure with my insurance company). What a giant mess the staff is here. I never want to see these people again.

DR. Hill is the best dermatologist Ive ever seen. Patient with her patients, she always takes time to make sure I have all the knowledge I need to make informed decisions. The office is clean and inviting. And everyone seems to enjoy their jobs which says a lot about the culture and doctors.

Dr Hill and her assistant are SO amazing... patient and kind and gentle; top notch bedside manner. Id forgotten my purse at home (something I never do) and had to have my 90-year old mom rush it to me so I could get checked inNancy at the front desk was harsh and unsympathetic; condescending. I realize100% my faultbut you can deliver a message with kindness or irritation; her delivery was very much the latterand she visibly snickered to her colleagues about my dilemma. I was very apologetic (it had been a traumatic 24 hours for me) and she almost made me cry. But then... nurse and Dr Hill were warm and comforting. Dr Hill is my very favorite doctor!! This group practice is the gold standard.

I went in for a general review of my skin as I had several moles that looked suspicious and my general practitioner was concerned about some, too. The doctor at North Idaho Dermatology wasnt concerned at all about any of my moles but prescribed a lotion for other red spots on my skin. I wasnt given any information about what the spots were on my skin or what to expect with applying the lotion. In addition, while there I pointed out a very small wart on my knuckle. It was the size of the tip of a ball point pen (the end you write with not the fat end). The doctor proceeded to freeze that off, which took about 30 seconds. Nothing was said about potential cost, which in the past 20 years Ive had many other (and larger) warts frozen off by my general practitioner without any charge to me or my insurance (same plan). Needless to say, I was shocked when that very brief and easy procedure was billed at $187 to my insurance company, which insurance reduced to a $135 allowable charge. Thats for something I have always had done for free and could have done at home for less than $20!If your doctors are going to be charging absolutely ridiculous amounts for extremely simple (and unnecessary) procedures they should warn the patient first! I would have never done that had I know it was going cost more than a few dollars.Im supposed to be going back for a follow up in case I need a biopsy for a spot on my arm. If freezing off a tiny wart is $187 at North Idaho Dermatology, then cutting out a small mole for biopsy would probably require me getting a second mortgage to pay for that. Not going back!

Omg!!! I was bought in for my blu light treatment a half hour late, they scrub my face with acetone and put the acid solution on after pinning my hair back and looking this terrible, they have me go back out in the lobby to sit in front of everyone for a flipping hour! Never again!

I called on a Wed. about a concern area on my face. The scheduler said it sounds like you should see a doctor sooner rather than later and said there was a cancellation for Fri. I got to see A doctor who checked my concern out, did a quick freeze, and answered all my questions. I left feeling relieved and will use their services again.

I went in to the spa for a free consultation and wound up with a botox treatment for my forehead and treatment for age spots and enlarged pores as well. I still look like I have the measles and have noticed no difference at all in my forehead, but I am assuming it will take a little time for my blotchy face to clear up and maybe the botox treatment will take a little time or is too subtle for an inexperienced eye to notice. That being said I have only positive things to say about the professionalism, communication and caring of the staff there..
