I highly recommend this clinic. I have keratoconus and astigmatism which makes it extremely hard to get good corrected vision. It usually takes me 6 to 8 visits for a new fitting. Doctor Perterson had me fitted with 20/15 vision in 3 visits. I'm extremely grateful for the excellent service.

Dr. Petersen and allofhis staff were exceptional! I asked several questions and got answers to all. Dr. Petersen has this incredible Ophthalmic Imaging machine which combines photography and diagnostic imaging to provide insight into not only the health of the eye, but also the health of the human body as a whole. I have never had that done before. Of course, we only dealt w/the eyes, but what a worthwhile technology!!! I highly recommend the Eye Clinic of Sandpoint for your next eye exam.

' For what it is worth, ' I would like to make a review of my first visit to the . Eye Clinic of Sandpoint, ID.From the minute I walked through the door I felt that I made the right decision to come here for new eye glasses . The suite was very clean & attractive with a patient waiting room that made you feel like you were in a 5 star hotel lobby versus a sardine can. Sitting at the reception desk was an attractive receptionist with an genuine smile. Now of course, she handed me the various forms that I had to fill out to assure payment would be made for the services received but, they were few & easy to complete. I was then escorted to the first suite by a very, very nice lady who did the initial preliminary test & upon exiting the room, Thanked me for my service in the military ( yes, Viet Nam era ) & said another technician would soon be with me for more evaluations before Dr. Peterson would see me. Wow, I am beginning to feel like a V.I.P.. Sure enough, again,, another very personable , attractive, & obviously competent technician did the test she was to do & informed me Dr. Peterson would now see me.Upon, meeting Dr, Peterson it all became clear why his entire staff was so Professional & competent & I knew I was in the right eye clinic for me.Jerry A. I was new to the area and needed an eye appointment as soon as I could get one. It had been two years since my last I exam. I tried to get an appointment elsewhere in town because others had better reviews than Eye clinic of Sandpoint. They were the only ones that could get me in Prior to a 2+month waiting period. First off my appointment was scheduled at 3:30 and they were running approximately 45 minutes behind. I had to take off time at work in order to make this appointment so for starters it would've been nice to receive a phone call letting me know that they were running behind because I could have continued working. Second off the personal skills and customer service was very poor in my opinion. I don't go back to start my exam until about 4:10. Third off the technician who was helping me for when the doctor came in was not very personal and didn't ask for my consent to dilate my eyes. I it was stated to me that 'I'm going to put these drops in your eyes' and no explanation as to what they were what they were going to do. My eyes began to burn profusely and that is when I asked 'is this post to burn?' She stated 'oh yes still feel the burn for about a minute this is to dilate your eyes.' I have never in my life ever had to have my eyes dilated and if I had to I would imagine that someone would have asked for my consent prior to putting drops in my eyes that made me feel like someone had put acid in my eyes. The burning sensation was very uncomfortable and I quickly noticed a strong headache coming on and very blurred vision, This made me very uncomfortable. I then waited for the doctor to come in, At this time it was around 445 and the clinic closed at five-I understand that he was running behind and I'm sure everybody wanted to leave for the day but it is not my fault that they were running behind, you need to treat all of your patiences as if they were a patient coming in at any hour of the day ON TIME. He rushed through my exam flipping through all the different eye lenses-for my prescription and asked me 1 or 2, 1or 2 what was better, what was better 3 or 4, 3or 4 now A or B, A or B what one is better. My eyes cannot adjust to the rapid changing out the lenses and my vision was already obscured by the dilation. Once he was complete, by around 4:55, he just handed me my prescription and said 'have a good night.' I was not lead to the front desk to check out or give me any explanation of what my next steps would be. In the past I have been taken upfront to look at new glasses and discuss what options I would like to have. I had to find my way back up to the front to check out-when I arrived at the checkout station the gal looked at me and said 'you have a $20 co-pay' with no pleases or thank you's. I proceeded to pay my co-pay and when I was done she said 'thanks have a good night.' I continue to ask 'is there someone here who could help me look at glasses?' She said 'sure Mike's around the corner he can help you.' I the. proceeded to ask 'OK do you know what my credit is for my insurance for a new pair of glasses?' She sighed heavily and then said 'sure it's $$$ amount.' I proceeded to go around the corner where Mike said 'how can I help you' and he was actually somewhat friendly and somewhat willing to help me look for glasses at the very end of the day. I had realized at this point nobody is willing to stick around or help me look for what I am needing and what I came here for in the first place. I continue to say 'you know what I will come back a different day when you have more time' I was then told 'OK thanks' not no You're fine you can continue looking that's what we are here for. Which in my opinion is going above and beyond and offering great customer service!!! I left there feeling very unconfident in my results for my prescription. I am now having to pay for another I exam because my insurance only allows one per year and I am going to have to seek a second opinion because of how I felt very rushed and was not confident I gave the most accurate answer do to the sate of my vision.
