I had a revision rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Kim. I work in the medical field and I am familiar with how difficult it is to perform a revision rhinoplasty, it is considered the most difficult surgical procedure by a lot of seasoned plastic surgeons.First I want to mention that I'm very particular so that you can read this review with some context. I consulted with other plastic surgeons before meeting Dr. Kim and after our first appointment with him, we immediately knew he was the right choice. He is very pleasant and has a very humble demeanor. My whole experience with him and his team was amazing. At my first appointment he was able to put my wife and I at ease and we felt very confident about his approach, skills and expertise. He was very careful and meticulous making notes of what needed to be done and he explained to us in great detail everything that he was going to do during the surgery. The next day he emailed me simulation photos and he answered all my questions and concerns. I went ahead and scheduled the surgery. I felt so at ease and safe the day of my surgery. The whole team was amazing. I was shocked at how little post op swelling I had, I was almost back to normal in 1 week. This says a lot about the skills of the surgeon. I could not be more happy with the results, they exceeded my expectations in every way. I think Dr. Kim is one of the best plastic surgeons in the country.

Dr. Kim performed my rhinoplasty- he had great bedside manner and me feel comfortable with such a big decision. Recovery from the procedure was as expected & I had no complications. I had more swelling than I expected but minimal bruising after the cast was taken off. I was swollen throughout my face, not just my nose for a bit. The swelling during the first couple of months made me worry that my nose was too big but as I have healed- Im very happy with my results!!! So like many indicate, dont worry if your nose is still swollen right at first, that will not be the final results. My nose really started to look better as it regained sensation a couple months down the road. If you are considering a facial procedure, I would definitely recommend Dr. Kim.

After seeing multiple surgeons in the Portland area I chose Dr. Kim for my rhinoplasty and chin augmentation. Choosing a surgeon for any type of facial plastic surgery is a huge choice but as soon as I found Dr. Kim I felt 100% certain that he would be the right fit. Dr. Michael Kim performed a face and neck lift surgery on me two months ago. I couldnt be more pleased with the results!I had such a positive surgical experience with Dr. Michael Kim. In addition to being a skilled clinician and surgeon, Dr. Kim is a lovely person. He honestly cares about his patients. His support team is wonderful.I met Dr. Kim last fall when a friend asked me to accompany her to a consultation with him. Because Im a retired RN she wanted my feedback and a second set of ears hearing what he may have to say to her. I was impressed with Dr. Kim. He listened intently to what my friend was hoping to accomplish through her cosmetic surgery. I watched as he analyzed her face and neck, then explained what surgical approach he felt was best for my friend. Two of the procedures she was initially considering, Dr. Kim felt she didnt need at this time. He couldve easily added those to the list of her procedures for surgery and charged more money for the surgery itself. I remember thinking to myself that he truly cares. That afternoon I went home and called Dr. Kims office and made an appointment for surgery for myself. Im very happy about that decision.Ive been surprised at how quickly I recovered from the surgery. It was much easier than I anticipated. Dr. Kim and Megan checked on my progress closely which made me feel very safe and secure. Im now two months post surgery, feel wonderful and have received positive feedback from family and friends such as - Youve never looked better! Retirement sure suits you, you look great!

I can't speak more highly of Dr. Kim. I did my research and chose to have a consultation with him because I liked his impressive background. I was 100% sold on Dr. Kim after that consultation. He was very friendly, comforting, conversational, and honest. He answered all of my questions (and my parent's!) and didn't make us feel rushed. I could tell he cared about my result just as much as I did. After the consultation, he sent me before/after renderings and answered another series of questions. He was very good at listening but also offering advice when asked. I felt confident that I had made the right choice in a doctor. Dr. Kim and his staff made scheduling and surgery preparation completely seamless. They took care of most of it! Following a pre-op appointment, I felt comfortable and prepared the day of my surgery. Dr. Kim met me beforehand and met my parents following the operation. Everything had gone according to plan and I felt well taken care of from start to finish. Dr. Kim and his staff stayed in touch with me following the surgery and made me feel just as important and comfortable as they had during my first consultation. I'm about 1.5 months post-op and I couldn't be more happy with my result! My nose looks just like the rendering he had shown me a few months earlier. Dr. Kim will admit that he's a perfectionist...which is exactly what you want to hear from your plastic surgeon! He's made me feel like family and I couldn't be more grateful for this entire experience.

I would give Dr. Kim 10 stars if I could. He is THE best at what he does. I had a punch excision done on my nose, which left it with a large divot, a plastic surgeon then cut out the divot and stitched it up, which made it far worse. The contouring on my nose was left bumpy and horribly scarred. I was devastated and thought I would just have to live with it for the rest of my life. I reached out to Dr. Kim and he said he would be able to help me. I didn't let my hopes get too high, because I had already been left worse off twice in a row, but man, I am so happy I went to Dr. Kim. He replaced the missing tissue on my nose with a small piece of tissue above my ear. My nose is so smooth now and you can barely even see the scar. I have no idea how he did it, but I am incredibly happy with the results. He is AMAZING! His bedside manner is perfect. He's friendly (even when my toddler was a terror), patient with all of your questions, and he is very knowledgeable. I am so grateful for his skills. Phenomenal surgeon. A++

I had been unhappy with the appearance of my nose for most of my life and when I discovered that I had a severely deviated septum, I decided to have my nose reshaped. I discovered Dr. Kim through online searches and made an appointment for a consultation. I was immediately impressed with his demeanor and professionalism and knew he was the right doctor. I cant express how happy I am with the results and with Dr. Kim. He work is impeccable, detailed and quite artistic and he has a lovely bedside manner. It has been 4 months from my surgery with Dr.Kim and I am so happy with the result. Dr. Kim addressed several issues that had arisen following a bad accident and botched previous surgery: lack of definition; too much nostril show; tip bent to the left; zigzag shape; bumpy profile; lack of bone, which caused breathing problem time to time, frequent headaches, and pain in the eyes and face when using glasses. Dr.Kim did my surgery in June 2019. He got a piece of bone from my rib and rebuild the nose structure. I still dont understand how he did it, but he did an amazing job. All my issues are gone. He is an artistic genius, a perfectionist with extraordinary attention to detail. I couldn't be happier or more grateful to him.

Literally the BEST. I could write a novel about all of the ways Dr. Kim rocks but tl;dr version is: outstanding surgical skills, great eye for beauty/aesthetics, and specializes in natural results. On a personal level, he's kind, sets realistic expectations, and there's no sales pressure. So far I've had improvements done to my nose, chin, and also face/neck skin tightening - I'm looking younger and softer than I ever have and the best part is nobody knows I've had any work done! Everyone asks how I 'always look so good' but that's a secret between me and my plastic surgeon ;-) His office assistant Megan is also great - helpful, organized, and genuinely nice. The whole team is super easy to work with and the results speak for themselves. Outstanding. I wouldn't trust any other doc with my face!

There were a number of things that bothered me about the appearance of my nose for many years. My husband is an ENT, so with his support and help I found Dr. Kim through a colleague of his. I sought consultations from three doctors, and it was crystal clear that Dr. Kim was right for me from the beginning. The volume of rhinoplasties he performs, his bedside manner and his understanding of my concerns along with his accessibility gave me great confidence. Ive always disliked my nose, and finally got up the courage to have a rhinoplasty this year. I was nervous to have this procedure, but Dr. Kim was so friendly and eager to help, so I felt more at ease. He answered my many questions and gave me a simulation of what my nose would look like before and after. Im so happy with my new nose, my confidence has been boosted by 1000%. Dr. Kim is an incredibly talented plastic surgeon. I had been wanting to get my nose corrected for a long time. I went to see Dr. Kim and he made me feel very comfortable about the procedure. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and with care. I would recommend for anyone to go see him. Hands down the best Doctor. I say that because he truly cares about his patients. I have never felt more comfortable and safe in a medical environment. My nose had been broken or hit multiple times playing soccer growing up. It was very crooked and made me self conscious most of my life. I couldn't take photos without wanting to photoshop my nose. I have been made fun of by people for my nose being crooked as well. You can see how this would affect one's confidence. Dr. Kim went through the process of correcting my nasal concerns with grace and skill. He explained everything to me in great detail. It has been a little over a month since my nose surgery. I was in a photo the other day, and for the first time in probably 16 years, I didn't want to throw the picture away. I looked at myself in the picture and said, wow....Dr. Kim helped me get my confidence back. Dr. Kim thank you for doing such a wonderful job. I still look like myself, my nose is refined and corrected again, but most importantly it is the confidence I have been given that I was missing for a very long time. Thank you Dr. Kim. I am finally getting around to writing a review of my incredible experience with Dr. Kim. I had a rhinoplasty back in 2015, and I can't imagine a better outcome. I was extremely uncomfortable with my profile, to the point where even stopping at red lights made me feel like everyone next to me was staring. Dr. Kim made me feel normal, and completely comfortable with the entire process. He was extremely thorough with explaining how the surgery would go, how I would heal, and what the outcome would be. Healing was quick and painless, and when it came time to take the cast off, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Dr. Kim and his team gave me a perfect experience for my revision rhinoplasty, beyond all my hopes. I found Dr. Kim on Google and was intrigued by his seemingly faultless reviews. When doing some research I found that Dr. Kim has had experience in many complex revisions. Other surgeons even refer to him. I decided to contact the office through email, and within an hour or so, Megan the receptionist had given me a response. She was quick, courteous and kind in answering all my questions and from there we scheduled my Skype consultation. I think its worth mentioning that before speaking with Dr. Kim, Id been turned down by 2 surgeons who insisted my revision wasnt worth doing because of the potential complications. During my consultation with Dr. Kim however, he gave me confidence that my surgery was possible. Dr. Kim was even surprised to hear that other surgeons considered my case complex, which I believe is a testament to his skill. Dr. Kim was patient and personable when listening to my goals and answering my questions. All these things set him apart from the surgeons Id encountered in the past. I knew I could trust him and decided to set up a surgery date. During our pre-op face to face meeting, I was overwhelmed by the Dr. Kims kindness and thoroughness. He spent over an hour with me going over the procedure and doing a live augmentation of my photos, to give me an idea of what I would look like after surgery. Dr. Kim truly went out of his way to make sure l was at ease for the surgery. Most importantly, he didnt push his aesthetic tastes onto me. Instead, he heard out my vision, and helped me figure out what was realistic. He also educated me and gave me his professional opinions, ultimately letting me decide what I wanted to do. Considering my disappointing experience with my first rhinoplasty, I was so grateful for the autonomy, patient education, and time Dr. Kim gave me. Surgery day was smooth as can be. Every person I spoke to was compassionate and professional - including the receptionist, nurses, and Dr. Carpenter the anesthesiologist. I had no room for anxiety with a team like that. Before surgery, Dr. Kim talked to me one last time to be certain of our final vision for my nose. Before I knew it, the surgery was done. I went home with the expected disorientation for the first few hours. Just some swelling and bruising and minor pain at the site of my rib graft. Its been 2 weeks now and almost all my swelling has gone. Im so happy with my nose and I know it will get better by the day. Dr. Kim did everything Id hoped for and more. Beyond my goals of a bridge augmentation and decreasing my nostril flare, I had many asymmetries that he fixed. I can breath better too. He made many changes, but preserved what I wanted so I'd still look like me. Its hard to find the words to express the immense skill level of Dr. Kim, though his before/after photos should speak volumes. He is a true artist, perfectionist, and professional. I believe his skill already sets him apart from other surgeons but its also his character that makes him the best all around. For those who are still looking for the right surgeon, consider Dr. Kim --- an exceptional surgeon who is also humble, ethical, compassionate, knowledgable, patient, flexible, and willing to rise to a challenge. The first time I tried a google review on here it didnt post and it is so worth it to give dr Kim 5 stars that I came back to try again!! He saved my face and my sleep habits too. I found Dr Kim after a previously botched rhinoplasty from different doctor and had broken my nose again. He reconstructed my nose, opened the nasal cavity, changed the tip to match the new and healthier shape, and the best part is that no one can even tel!!! In the best way I mean!! I met with Dr. Kim in desperate need of a successful rhinoplasty revision. The prior surgeon had left me with a short, asymmetrical, upturned nose with a poly beak. I had originally sought out septorhinoplasty to resolve congestion and breathing issues with some slight cosmetic changes. By the time I met with Dr. Kim I was skeptical and unsure who I could trust. Many surgeons will tell you they can help but not all have the skills and experience required. I scheduled my rhinoplasty revision with Dr. Kim and I was still nervous despite him being very warm, caring, and knowledgeable. I was under a bit longer than originally anticipated because Dr. Kim was working to pull my nose down and get the length back that I wanted. He didn't have to take the extra time to get it right, but I am so glad he did. My nose is so much better! I have the length, definition, and rotation I wanted. I have some slight asymmetry that I knew would be there. After multiple surgeries I had realistic expectations that improvements would be achieved but not perfection. I highly recommend Dr. Kim. I'm extremely grateful for how much he did to revise my nose. I have my face back and can move on with my life.

Searched many years for someone like Dr. Kim to transform my Asian nose. Ive been wanting rhinoplasty since my teens and have not found the right one until I met Dr. Kim. Not only is he talented but he is kind and passionate about what he does. He has AMAZING bedside manners and that says a lot as an RN myself. I was pretty much sold the day I first met him. I flew all the way from Massachusetts to Oregon just for my consultation. Had surgery in the fall of that year and I am SO happy of my results. It came out so natural but at the same time a significant enhancement. I had rib cartilage added to my nose to give it a higher bridge and nostril flare reduction. I am confident and happy and its all because of Dr. Kim. When you meet this doctor you will know what I mean! What I also love is that he is very tech savvy and accommodating - first time I encountered Dr. Kim, I sent him a DM on Instagram (@drmichaelkim) for an opinion about my nose since I was across the country from him.
