Dr. Pontell has a great portfolio and so far I am happy with my results. However, they are very unclear about insurance billing and his office staff honestly has no idea what they're doing. A lot of my personal information was entered incorrectly and they would often forget about my appointment times because I would call or show up and they would have me for a different time than what was asked.

Im just a hair under 3 weeks post-op for a rhinoplasty and I couldnt be happier. This is something Ive wanted to do my whole life so I put a lot of research in to where I was going. The process from consultation to surgery was quick and easy! I cant believe how much I love my nose already, and I know its just going to keep getting better. Id recommend him to anyone!

I told staff I'd like a video consult as I'm out of state and after all, amidst COVID-19 most offices have this option. After numerous back and forth calls/emails they couldn't seem to figure out Skype and said well he has your pictures he can just call. I mentioned I preferred video over phone and they kept reminding he had my pictures. I wonder if they even considered there is a critical need for rapport and trust with patient-Dr. relationship, which would be better acvieved via face to face conversation even it is video rather than just phone. He called and had a pleasant tone but I mentioned I preferred video, but I don't have Facetime, he said well he has my pictures, it was awkward. He was abrupt and started out with 'So what questions do you have?' rather than providing his plan of action and a guidance through his process. Throughout conversation had sarcastic comments, not sure if it was his humor but was off-putting and condescending. Definitely will not be back if even a video consult could be figured out as bedside manner is very uncomfortable. At least made my decision easy.

I initially read up about Dr. Pontell through google searches regarding skilled rhinoplasty surgeons. After reviewing Dr. Pontell's thorough portfolilio, I visited him for a consultation. The staff was welcoming and so was Dr. Pontell. Dr. Pontell thoroughly explained the procedure, his background, and gave 3-D hand sculpted imaging results of the proposed surgery. He mentioned he served in the Army as an Officer and the Director of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. I immediately knew he was extremely skilled and would undoubtedly perform a perfect surgery. I proceeded to schedule my surgery that same day and paid a small deposit to lock in the surgery date. Everything up to the surgery and after was excellent, especially considering the backdated surgeries he was front loaded with (due to COVID-19) and the inherently stressful nature of his work. The results were exactly as expected and the healing process has been smooth.Dr. Pontell gives his work and personal cell numbers to all his patients for 24/7 contact. I highly recommend him as he is 100 percent dedicated to providing quality results for his patients.

After doing a lot of research I went to Dr. Pontell for my septorhinoplasty procedure. I had trouble breathing on one side and had a narrow nasal passage. I felt very comfortable going into the procedure and felt trust in Dr. Pontell. The surgery went very smoothly, bruising and swelling was very minimal and overall recovery was a lot easier than I was expecting. It is now almost a month after surgery and my breathing improves everyday and is way better than before. My nose looks exactly like the computer imaging he produced at the consultation and I could not be happier! It looks and feels amazing!

Dr. Pontell is a true face sculptor. I went to Dr. Pontell for a lip lift in December 2017 and again in March 2020. I was very pleased after the first lift but eventually wanted to see just a little more philtrum gone. Dr. Pontell agreed and the outcome is absolutely perfect! Had traditional face lift, neck and both upper and lower eyes done mid-August. It was a lot at one time but so glad I listened to Dr. Pontell and his recommendations. Still healing on lower face but I am so happy with my results. I am 62 and hardly ever where makeup and I love makeup, so very pleased! Kathy who coordinates everything, is just a sweetheart. I saw Dr. Pontell today for my two month follow-up post rhinoplasty and I could not be more pleased and the results will only continue to get better. He has a wonderful demeanor, attentive to detail, listens to your needs, sets realistic outcomes and most importantly is not pushy. In our consult he visually showed me the results to expect by taking my photo and digitally altering it on the computer. He personally calls all his patients the night after surgery. I just had a lower lid and mini facelift done by Dr. Pontell (12 years after my sons otoplasty) and I couldn't be happier with the results. My biggest concern was not about the surgery but how natural I would look and the response from people afterwards. I am here to say, dont waste a single minute worrying about this. I had the staples removed 10 days after the surgery and returned to my full time job immediately. My first interaction with the public was at a previously scheduled annual physical directly following my suture removal. Even though I told the physician about my plastic surgery, I had to remind her when she started the exam around my neck and face. She said she would have never noticed if I hadn't said something. I am a professor and gave a 75 min lecture at 11 days post-op in front of 125 college students. With the help of a good makeup concealer, no one noticed! I was even able to hide the entire procedure from my adult children. Lastly, at day 14, I was at a holiday work party and had 3 people ask me if I had a different haircut, each telling me that I looked great!Long story short, Dr. Pontell's work exceeded my expectations and I am thrilled with the results. Don't spend a minute being anxious. You will end up a fresher and younger looking you!

Three weeks ago I had a septorhinoplasty done by Dr. Pontell. This was a surgery that I was incredibly nervous about because I not only hated how my nose looked from the outside, but I also could not breathe through one side of my nose. From the moment I walked into Dr. Pontell's office I knew he was the best surgeon to choose for this surgery. He answered all of my questions without hesitation and did not rush me at all during the consultation. I decided to go with him as soon as our consultation was over. Dr. Pontell is AMAZING!!!! I had a mini face lift and upper and lower eyes. I was really scared! I wanted to save money, and therefore, was awake during the surgery. The numbing shots hurt, but it was bearable. Dr. Pontell has a beautiful voice and sang the whole time. I can't believe how great I look!!! Way beyond my expectations! He is the BEST! From my initial consultation through follow-up visits, Dr. Pontell and his staff provided compassionate and personalized care, individually tailored to correct my not only prominent, but atypically pointed ears. For several years prior to my procedure, I struggled with the decision to undergo an otoplasty. I vetted a few local cosmetic surgeons. After meeting with Dr. Pontell and reviewing his digitally-altered photos reflecting my anticipated post-operative appearance, I elected an otoplasty under local anesthesia. My procedure was relatively painless, and my post-operative pain was well-managed with mild opiates (which I only required during the first 48 hours following surgery). On the evening of my procedure, Dr. Pontell personally called me to ensure that I was healing as expected. Dr. Pontells delightful, spa-esque environment -- in refreshing contrast to a typical physicians office-- created a calming ambiance during surgery. Finally, Dr. Pontell and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate my scheduling needs. Although I lived a few suburban blocks from his office at the time, I worked in Philadelphia and, at times, required appointments outside of typical business hours. Dr. Pontell arranged my pre and post-operative visits around my busy work schedule. I could not be more satisfied with the results of my April 2016 otoplasty. If one is considering a cosmetic head or neck procedure, Dr. Pontell is the best of the Main Line. Best decision ever! I had a partial facelift in late November and was out lunching with friends in two weeks. I followed Dr Pontells postoperative instructions to the letter. The results went from very good to great as time progressed. There are no visible signs of scarring -massage as instructed. Now I wish I had decided to have a brow lift. Dr. Pontell performed a rhinoplasty on me in May 2019 to remove a bump on the bridge of my nose. I had my surgery (septorhinoplasty) performed nearly 7 weeks ago, and I will say that I am very satisfied with the pre-op, peri-op and post-op care I received from Dr Pontell and his staff. In particular, I'd like to mention Kathy, the office receptionist, who was very pleasant to speak with both over the phone and in-person during office visits. I know that the experience of going to see a doctor can be significantly impacted by the personality of the front desk staff, and she did a remarkable job in making me feel very welcome there. The recovery period for me, was overall very brief in my opinion and surprisingly almost painless. I look, more or less, like what I had expected, based on the images he generated on his computer program, during the initial consultation which speaks greatly to his surgical skills. Most importantly, I am very happy with the results he achieved and I can say that he is certainly an artist when it comes to cosmetic surgery. Based on my personal experience, I would gladly recommend him to my friends and I would definitely return to see him for any additional procedures, that I may consider having in the future.

Dr. Pontell is a brilliant cosmetic surgeon. I and friends who have gone to him for surgery and/or Botox have been thrilled with our results - natural and long lasting. He does all the work himself. You neednt fear you will be asleep and a resident will be given a small job to do - on your face! If you are interested in injections, you wont be handed off to a nurse. You have the benefit of Dr. Pontells training, fastidiousness, artistry, personal attention, and (very important) good judgement every step of the way. The office is bright and sunny, and runs on time. Ive never felt rushed at appointments or that I was on an assembly line. Dr. Pontells operating room nurse is first-rate too and his office manager couldnt be nicer or more organized.

Dr. Pontell changed my life. I had my revision rhinoplasty May 27, 2019, after an original surgery 20 years ago plus injury to the skin of the nose about 10 years ago. I look in the mirror now and actually like what I see. Its amazing.He narrowed the nostrils, made the tip smaller, and even gave me a cute little hint of an upturned tip because thats what I said I wanted. I seriously cant stop looking in the mirror and being shocked that it looks so pretty. Knowing that revision is more complicated than primary, plus knowing I had a lot of scar tissue on the skin of my nose from the old injury, I did years of research, reading reviews, and having consultations with experienced revision rhinoplasty surgeons. I knew this would be a difficult surgery and it was really important to me to choose the best doctor possible so I didnt waste my time and money in disappointment, or even worse, damage the nose further. I did consultations with Dr. Jonathan Becker, Dr. Randolph Capone (RIP), Dr. Thomas Le, Dr. Kofi Boahene at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Shervin Naderi & Dr. Jason Hamilton in Los Angeles. Dr. Pontell was by far the best doctor I could ever have chosen and I am so grateful I spent those years researching and consulting because it was all worth it to find such a talented, kind, caring, and miracle working doctor. He listened to what I wanted, worked with me on the goals, allowed me to make 11th hour changes (leaving the deviated septum and bridge alone bc even though it technically impacted my breathing, I didnt notice a breathing problem and the bridge was the only part of my nose I actually liked, so we left that alone).At the surgery center the nurse told me that Dr. Pontell is known for taking his time to get things just right, so the friend I came with shouldnt worry if the 2 hour surgery went over to 2.5 hours or so, it would just be Dr. Pontell making sure everything was perfect. When I told the nurse Id come from 3 states away, she told me Dr. Pontell has patients come from all over the US and 2 recent ones who flew in from France and somewhere else internationally just for rhinoplasty with him. I said I totally get it, because hes worth it. That was before the surgery.When I woke up, even with the badges on and swelling, I could see immediately I loved it. The nostrils were so much slimmer and the tip smaller and cute. Now 7 weeks later its just gotten better and better. Dr. Pontell called me at the hotel the evening of the surgery just to make sure I was doing ok, and when I missed that call bc I was sleeping, he called the cell of the friend whod come with me, to make sure all was well. He gave me his personal cell and I could call night or day with any questions or concerns. When I had the stitches out I barely felt it, and there are literally no scars or even red marks whatsoever, even though there were about 15 external stitches in the nostrils and columnella.In short, this was the best decision I ever made, and I thank God, in all seriousness, for bringing me to Dr. Pontell. He is an amazing surgeon (my complicated revision went off without a hitch & is more beautiful than I ever thought possible) but just as important - or even more important in my book - he is truly kind and really cares about his patients. A thousand stars - Highly recommend. I love my new nose and am so much more confident now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Pontell!PS Kathy & Kat at the front desk are amazing. Whether a routine office visit, in-office procedure, surgery or post-op care, he excels in both his craft and his bedside manner. I have been thrilled with his work, and work ethic. This review is based strictly off my experience with the receptionist. They are literally the door to the office so I'm surprised Dr. Pontell employed a rude one. I called and asked for potential days that have a specific time available. She asked if I wanted the next available one and I said yes. After she told me that, I asked for other days with the same time availability (because of my own job) and she gets annoyed saying 'you said next available. we have other times earlier in the day'. Basically miscommunication but I always keep it professional and she was being quite rude. I also asked about insurance and she said they don't accept any insurance and that I would have to submit any claims myself after the procedure. Ummmm..no thanks.

I had a minilift, brow lift and fraxel repair. I'm very happy with my experience. I love the results so far. My recovery way a breeze and Dr. Pontell was available by phone 24 hours a day to answer any questions. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. I was extremely nervous about the pain and discomfort while healing but it honestly was 100% tolerable. I also love the fact that I'm in and out quickly during appointments. I have never had to wait. Overall very friendly and professional.
