I had some skin tags removed and it was painful when they did the lidocaine but it was fine for the removal. However they left one wholeside not done. I will have to go back to finish this up. But they were very gentle and making sure I wasn't having pain so that was great.

I saw Doctor Chris Thompson and he was extremely professional and went out of his way to make me feel comfortable with the procedure and explained everything. The nurses were very helpful with explaining care and helping with everything. The whole office staff is amazing.. I also had to take my mother to Dr. Thompson and he went above and beyond to help make her comfortable during her procedure. They are just All so awesome

I discovered your practice from a google search. You were highly rated. After having my visit experience, its easy to see how you earned it. Your receptionist was very informative about filling out my first visit forms. All went well. I was greeted and seated in one of the exam rooms. An assistant vetted me and my reason for coming. Soon Dr. Amy came in and was so courteous, friendly and thorough with my diagnosis. Medicine was prescribed and sent to my personal pharmacy. I picked it up and did a treatment. It really helped and was very quick. Im glad I chose Advanced Dermatology.

It seems as if I am the unlucky one when it comes experiences at this healthcare facility. I have had four separate issues in the time I have been a patient here and it has only been 3 months. I have had issues scheduling an appointment at all. I have had issues with my appointments being scheduled on the wrong day. I have had issues with my medical records being mixed up with another patient's. This has led to me being prescribed medication I am specifically allergic to. I have had issues with being charged for visits that never actually happened. I have had issues where I am told I will be called back and I never am. I have had issues with getting a single referral. Like I said, it seems as if I am the odd man out when it comes to reviews. However, this has been absolutely ridiculous and I cannot believe the only way that I can get a straight answer out of anybody at this place is to drive to the facility itself and wait in the lobby while they fix yet another mistake they have made. I will say that the actual medical professionals are fantastic but their administration office is perhaps the most piss-poor excuse for a front desk I have ever seen.

Going back and forth between giving this a three or four. My acne wasnt that bad, so they gave me a light behind the counter medicine, but kept giving me crazy expensive stuff my insurance wont cover. Finally got good meds and my face is better, but the nursing staff seems incompetent in their education on over the counter things and try to demand you get a visit for a simple question like what soap do you reccommend? I had already had a visit and just wanted a simple recommendation, which is very customary. For my face they recommended differin and cerave for example. But when i called for body wash a few months later, they were acting like they had never gone soap shopping! I waited on hold twice to be told something from the acne aisle. Like no dip sherlock what brand do you suggest? And she was like uuuuh ummm duurrrr get an appointment. I just asked the store clerk and she says her dermatologist recommends the neutrogena one or safeguard if you wanna be extra clean. The staff needs to be more educated on general questions and be able to give more detailed answers for those questions. You aint scamming me into an unnecessary visit so you can tell me to buy dove lol

Saw Heather Oliver today and I have to say she is wonderful. So smart and friendly. Takes time to listen to the patient and time to explain your situation. She gives recommendations for products to use at home along with medication. Plus you dont have to wait a month for an appointment. The entire staff is great. Very thankful that my daughter and I found this office. Thank you!!

Chris Thompson is always fast, courteous and efficient when he sees me. Only problem that Ive had is not with Chris, but with having to wait in the lobby for over an hour before being seen. He suggested that in the future to book the first appointment in the morning which is what I have started doing. But, Westside Dermatology is the only doctors office that Ive ever had a problem with waiting to be seen. They tell me that appointment times are controlled by someone else. I think its odd that no other doctor or dentist office has the same issues.

The front desk associates are usually very busy and don't take time to give you a warm welcome, but all of the technicians and doctors go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and appreciated as the work with you. I recommend them to everyone!

The scheduling department contacted me for a bi-annual checkup. Arrived to my appoint (scheduled for 9:05) 10 minutes early. 40 minutes later (9:45 at this point), I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be. I was told it would be a bit longer because the was still someone ahead of me. I cancelled my appointment and will be finding another dermatologist. I understand maybe 10-15 min after appointment time, but what would have turned into and hour past the scheduled time is way too excessive. Thanks for wasting my leave I had to put in for at work!!

The office has same day appointments!!! We moved from another state, where my grandson was misdiagnosed 3 times. I have had skin biopsies across my childhood to screen for melanoma due to northern European ancestry. Everybody in my family does this, and our prior dermatologist was happy to screen via shave biopsies as a preventative measure.I met with Christopher Thompson, PA in 08/2017 for a simple skin screening and shave biopsy. At the time, the dermatologist never came to the room. However, this did not stop PA Thompson from speculating a drastic medical plan of care, including a future full-thickness surgical excision of skin surrounding a (yet untested) mole. PA Thompson instructed me to return for further planning of this surgical procedure before he had even sent my biopsy results to the lab (much less received the results, which were non-cancerous). After my results came back negative for cancer, PA Thompson insisted that I still needed the surgical excision 'just in case' my benign moles were cancerous. Unfortunately for the business model at Advanced Dermatology, 'just in case' is not a data-driven plan of care within the medical world. In 2019, I asked for medical records, and the office had to create a medical note, as one had not been documented during the time of my visit. The note included verbiage of medical 'non-compliance' to the surgical plan. A surgical plan not passed by the dermatologist, not indicated by the medical best-practices of the field, and not backed by my skin biopsy?!? Of course I did not go under the knife at this office.With an average income of $400,000+, do dermatologists really need to have their lesser assistants mandate unnecessary (and potentially harmful) surgeries for every patient requesting a skin biopsy? This office is a money-making scheme with a very thin veil of medical practice. Best avoided. Spartanburg and Greenville have no shortage of alternative Dermatologists. If you are seeking authentic medical care, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

They were very quick getting me back for the exam. For it to have been a full body check, I dont believe it was very thorough. I have a place on my arm and the Dr said, What is that?, and offered no more comments if I should do anything about it. It has been there a long time but I would expect him to give an opinion if it needs attention. It just seemed like a rush job to me.
