6 months Post-op. Had explant with donut lift and wouldn't turn back. Dr. Whitfield was referred to me by a friend. From the 1st appointment/consultation, I knew that he was the surgeon I would put all my trust and faith in. He will listen to your concerns and give you honest feedback. I asked about Fat Transfer, and he w/o hesitation gave me his opinion that he prefers to wait after a year to see if it's still something I want. Most surgeons will just do what you ask even if it's not whats best for you. Not Dr. Whitfield and I'm glad he didn't do it. I truly feel I'm happy w/o needing a FT. His work is amazing, and close to perfection. He certainly puts your best interest at heart. I am referring everyone to Dr. Whitfield!

Dr. Whitfield is a wonderful surgeon and I couldnt be happier with my results. I had 9 year-old silicon implants and concerns that one of them had ruptured. Dr. Whitfield was incredibly patient when explaining different options for me and even took the time to connect me with a past patient of his, who had been in a similar situation. I was able to get an MRI that informed me that I did not have an implant rupture prior to my surgery. Ultimately, I decided to swap my silicon implants for saline and Dr. Whitfield was able to give me the lift that I desired by using minimally invasive methods. I trust that he wants whats best for his patients and that he is willing to take the time to discuss all options with his patients. I am so happy with my results and didnt even expect that my breasts would look even better after an exchange.

After my breast enhancement surgery in 2006, I developed inflammation though out my body, acquired many food sensitivities, and had neck and back pain, none of which I experienced prior to breast augmentation. I am, otherwise, a healthy, active 60+ year old woman. My purpose for choosing to have explant surgery was for my overall wellbeing.After doing extensive research of the most competent explant surgeons, I chose to have a consultation with Dr. Robert Whitfield in Austin, Texas. Upon arrival, I found the office atmosphere extremely welcoming. During the consultation, Dr. Whitfield explained in detail what an explant operation would entail, actively listened and addressed all of my concerns. Dr. Whitfield tailored the surgery to me taking into consideration my needs and desires. Since the surgery, Dr. Whitfield has compassionately tended to my healing concerns. His staff Kathy, DeeDee and others have made me feel comfortable and have expeditiously responded to my administrative needs. I am at 6 weeks post-op and very confident in my decision to have the surgery!It is important to remember that (1) explant surgery is not a cosmetic procedure, thus breast shape/form may change after surgery; (2) because explant surgery is significantly more comprehensive than breast enhancement surgery, the healing process is longer; and (3) the healing process will differ depending on what the current health status is before surgery.

Dr. Robert Whitfield is an excellent doctor. He explains things thorougly and is attentive. He is not dismissive of what a patient is physically feeling, especially after being told by numerous doctors that my illnesses /inflammation was not caused by my implants. He provided me with pictures of both the capsules and implants as well as the implants after cultures were taken for testing. Results were provided in a timely manner. Since removal of my implants (textured) I have seen significant improvements in the severity/duration of my chronic hives that I have been suffering from for the last 8+ years. I am optimistic that this will be the trend as I continue to heal. His admin and medical staff are friendly, knowlegable and helpful.

I went to see Dr. Whitfield for an enbloc capsulectomy. Unfortunately, I was having health issues due to my breast implants. Dr. Whitfield was extremely supportive of Breast Implant Illness (BII) and was very patient during my initial consultation. I met with many surgeons, but was most comfortable with him, his patience with my many questions, and his expertise in the area. Although it was an intense surgery, his early recovery after surgery protocol led to very little pain for me. I only took 4 Hydrocodone post surgery, not because I needed it but because I wanted to stay ahead of the pain, just in case. This protocol, which included a nerve block and nerve medication made such a difference for me and allowed me to recover in comfort! I do not live in Austin, so this helped greatly as I spent my first night post surgery in a hotel. I had no issues sleeping and felt very comfortable during the long car ride home. Dr. Whitfield also has an absolutely wonderful staff and many services that have aided in my journey to get healthy again. Kathy, who helped me with my initial quotes/invoices was very patient as I asked many questions about the process, billing, financing, etc. Heather, his nutritionist, has been a life saver in my recovery. She is very knowledgeable about BII and has worked with me on my recovery to get healthy again. She has helped me with a comprehensive plan based on my BII issues and past lab work that showed candida overgrowth, gut health issues, heavy metals and toxins in my system, etc. She has also reviewed my genetics testing results and helped me understand them better too. With all of this information she has helped me with my diet and supplement regimen to try and treat everything in a more natural way. She also suggested that I do IV therapy before and after surgery, which is also offered in Dr. Whitfields office. This has allowed me to get all of the vitamins and minerals I desperately needed directly into my bloodstream and has made a huge difference in the way I feel! Cheryl has given me my IV Therapy treatments - she administers an IV like an absolute pro by making it a painless process and explaining all of the different vitamins and minerals and how they may make me feel. She has been a joy to talk to and so very helpful! Lastly, Nikki in the the front office has been so sweet and kind to me every time I visit. Overall, the entire staff is very kind and helpful making this whole emotional process so much easier on me. I am so very grateful for Dr. Whitfield and his staff. His knowledge and expertise in this area was well worth the drive for me! Please do not hesitate to consult with him. Had AccuTite with liposuction on my neck area about 2 months ago and can tell a dramatic difference in the skin elasticity . The skin is definitely tightening and firming. I am 60 now and people are amazed and always tell me I do not look my age. Everyone ages as we get older, but we have the ability to look younger and to feel confident and happy with ourselves. My story was unique in that I had 3 year old implants that needed to be removed due to them making me sick. My symptoms were severe and I was desperate for help. Everyone in his staff helped me every step of the way. Although Dr. Whitfield is probably one of the busiest surgeons in Austin, he made me feel like I was his only patient. I am one week post en bloc capsule explant and I feel great ! I found Dr. Whitfield online and with his office being so far from me and the technology him and his staff use, I was able to get a video appt right away. Upon meeting with Dr. Whitfield he is very nice and professional and gave me all the time I needed to ask questions . I could tell right away that he cares about his patients and his work. This review is waaaay over due. You can look no further-- you have found your surgeon for your explant surgery, and your team for facial and body cosmetics. I can not speak higher of Dr. Whitfield-- he will make you feel comfortable while answering all your questions. He's performed countless surgeries and it shows in his immaculate work. My initial surgery, by another surgeon, was NOT a good job yet in spite of this Dr. Whitfield did an amazing job removing the implants total en bloc and I am very pleased with the results! Now, his staff, they are just the icing on the cake... not sure where he found such amazing caring beings to work alongside him but it probably has something to do with his own caring nature. Sarah, Erin, Angela, Anissa, Kathy, Leah -- everyone I've met up there--very sweet and helpful... I'd like to think I was getting special treatment but I highly doubt it! After my explant, I had horrible acne from probably multiple things (imbalanced hormones, leaky gut, toxins, anxiety/stress) and Dr. Whitifield introduced me to Anissa who has been an aesthetician for 18 years-- WOW. She fixed me right up... the results from only 2 facials was night and day. BEST FACIAL EVER. Next up: Morpheus 8. If you are suffering from Breast Implant Illness and looking for a highly skilled surgeon who does en bloc capsulectomy, I would highly recommend Dr. Whitfield. I was able to get a consultation right away, and schedule my surgery a few weeks later. I wanted my implants out right away so this was a huge plus for me. During my consultation, Dr. Whitfield took his time to listen to me, and I never felt rushed. He has you fill out a survey of your symptoms for his research he is doing on BII. After surgery, he checks up on you, and has you come in for follow ups as needed. His team is also amazing, they are all so nice! Im one month post op today and I feel great! I felt super comfortable with all staff and Sarah is Amazing. Nothing hurt, she had all the answers and it was easy peasy. My only thing is, I was under the impression I could get a little more work done if i joined the program, as i did.. With knowing what i had done, I was dying to get 1 more syringe in my cheek area. I didnt know i was limited too. Under the circumstances I totally understand why I was limited, but should have been told that when making the appointment. However, not a huge deal and wont stop me from coming back and finish what i want done. The practice is super clean, professional looking and classy. Every employee was super sweet. Dr. Whitfield is an amazing physician who cares about his patients. He uses a pain control protocol that greatly reduces the need for post operative narcotic pain medication-and the associated side-effects. I was alert very quickly after DIEP reconstruction. The day after surgery I was walking short distances. I was released from the hospital three days post op. Recovery has gone smoothly and the reconstruction looks amazing. Dr Whitfield and his staff are friendly and always respond quickly to any questions. I highly recommend Dr Whitfield.

I had an explant with Dr Whitfield. I was very nervous about how much downtime I would need and how bad the pain was going to be. Dr Whitfield prescribed the perfect combination of medication to keep inflammation and pain and a minimum. My surgery was in the morning and that day I was a little sore. The next day after surgery I woke up and didnt even need the pain meds. I just felt like I had a bruise on my chest. I was really pleasantly surprised how easy the recovery has been. I could drive 3 days after explant. Dr Whitfield is a fantastic surgeon who really cares about your recovery. Any future cosmetic procedures I have will be with him!

I was referred to Dr. Whitfield by my sister in law and a friend of mine. I have nothing but rave reviews for him and his staff. From my initial call through all calls, texts, and appointments, his entire staff has been courteous, polite, and helpful. Dr Whitfield, took the time to listen to my concerns, I had a plethora of symptoms that I had been dealing with for about 5-6 years (each one only getting worse with time). They each started small, more of annoyances, and each one I disregarded to 1. Getting older, 2. Having children and the toll that eventually puts on your body, and 3. Early onset of menopause (I and currently in my mid 40s). I began hearing about BII over a year ago and began doing my own research. I was worried that the symptoms would not go away after my explant, but was out of options. Im a three-year breast cancer survivor. Had bilateral mastectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction. Both of my surgeons did excellent work: Brant Victor, my general surgeon, and Rob Whitfield, my reconstruction surgeon.IMHO, aftercare is as important as the surgery itself. Dr. Whitfield had certain expectations of me as a patient in recovery from major surgery, as well as a cancer patient preparing for chemo. He did everything he could to see that I was well taken care of; I did everything he asked of me in taking care of wounds, looking for problems, taking medication. My recovery was easier, less painful, and less stressful. Dr. Whitfield is a knowledgeable and skilled surgeon. Im glad to have been his patientI knew I was in good handsand should a need arise, Id return to him in a heartbeat.

After a fall, I needed plastic surgery for my ankles. I visited a doctor and he recommended a skin flap, a very painful and with a long recovery period. I decided to seek a second opinion and met with Dr. Whitfield from a friend's recommendation. He offered a much easier procedure, and was very professional. He seemed very knowledgeable, and reassured me that my recovery would be quick and pain-free. Quickly recover I did! Thanks to Dr. Whitfield's efforts, I'm all better!

Dr. Whitfield and his staff are amazing. I suffered from breast implant illness with my implants (he was not my original plastic surgeon). He genuinely listened to my concerns and didnt try to sell me new ones or try to talk me out of removing them. He is caring, professional and took time with each visit and in present day, that is hard to find. He is on an approved list of surgeons in the Facebook group and website: Breast Implant Illness and Healing as he removes both implants AND capsules, which is extremely important. He even discusses this illness on a video on his website and has info regarding the procedure, en bloc, on his website as well. A thank you to Dr. Whitfield and his staff for everything!

I owe my life to you, Dr. Whitfield! A little over a year ago you gave me hope after my cancer diagnosis with a very tedious diep-flap reconstruction. Although complications with infection followed you never gave up on me and you and your staff have always made me feel I was your only patient! Week after week I met with you as you diligently gave your time and expertise to cure me! After chemo, when more complications came, you dedicated so much time and energy to making me well. You didn't have to do so much for me but did so with a smile and genuine concern every week. You never made me feel I was merely a patient-but always, always, despite my sometimes sour/sad mood-made me feel like you cared and wanted the best for me! It is one more testament to the integrity and compassion you have for your patients! It's been quite a year but I couldn't have made it through it all without you by my side! Thank you for the countless hours you have gone way above and beyond what would be considered standard! I will never be able to repay you for helping me on my path to regain a normal life. I wish I could give my experience with Dr. Whitfield 10 stars! I went to see him to discuss fillers for my face and lips, which was all new to me. He took the time to really look at me as a person not just a patient and the first thing he did was hand me a mirror and ask what areas of concern I had and where I would like to improve upon. We discussed the options, products, cost and realistic expectations for some time before we both decided on a plan that was right for ME. He is meticulous, focused, patient, and ALWAYS DOES THE RIGHT THING. My deep lines are no more in my forehead, my lips have a natural looking volume so you can see my lipstick, my cheek area is fantastic as I have regained fullness that makes my face look radiant and youthful. He took 10 years off my face! I'm 48 and since meeting with Dr. Whitfield last month, I have been carded at HEB and Randall's for purchasing wine as I look under 30!

After my initial meeting on Dec 8, 2017 with Dr. Whitfield, I knew he was the right surgeon to remove my 25 yr old silicon implants. He was well versed on the importance of proper Implant Removal / Capsulectomy. At the time I knew one was ruptured and during surgery he discovered they were both ruptured, which made the surgery more complex because there was a lot of toxic matter that had to be scrapped from my breast. I also had many concerns about the surgery because I take blood thinner. He patiently answered all of my questions and also contacted my hematologist. Dr. Whitfield also took into consideration that I was eager to have my implants removed ASAP. During my consultation he personally made a phone call to the surgical center and rearranged his schedule to make it possible for me to have surgery Dec 29, 2017, a day that worked best for me. Dr. Whitfield and I discussed giving the implants back to me after surgery, which was very important to me. He made sure to inform the surgical staff of my special request as it is not protocol to give implants back to patients. I almost forgot them because there was so much going on during the discharge. After the surgery Dr. Whitfield made a point to call me everyday over the holiday weekend including New Year's Day, which I thought was going above and beyond. During the whole process not once did I feel that I made the wrong choice and I am very pleased that I took the referral from another patient of his.Dr Whitfield is a very kind and considerate person. He genuinely cares about the best outcome for his patients. Thank you Dr. Whitfield and his team. Happy New Year 2018!!
