After moving, I wanted to find a Dermatologist closer to my new home. I reviewed the Westlake Dermatogy website and read some of the Doctors profiles. I saw Doctor Stevens profile and was impressed with her, an set an appointment. I ask her to look at a spot on my leg that I had previously had check by two other Dermatologist in the past several years. She did an assessment and decided to do a biopsy to be safe. It came back positive for Basal Cell Carcinoma. Dr. Stevens called me personally and talked with me about the next step. She referred my to Dr Chern who also practices out of the office. The day of the in office procedure, Dr. Chern talked with me about the process and explained everything. She put me at ease and took her time. The procedure went well. I am very impressed with both Doctor Stevens and Chern. They were professional yet personable. I would recommend both of these Doctors without hesitation!

Been waiting 3 weeks for a simple approval to change my acne medication and literally no one has even returned my phone call. Not even the pharmacy can get someone to give them an answer. The negligence of the doctors and/or office staff has resulted in the full return of my acne. Wonderful.

Dr. Jackson really impressed me with her skill and also her flexibility. She was going to do a scalpel excision, which would have limited my physical activity for a few weeks. When I whined about that, she pondered, then decided she could instead perform a punch biopsy which could have me back on the golf course and running the Trail of Lights Run by the weekend. She's pretty awesome.

Do not choose this location!! They do not care about their customers or have any respect for anyone's time. I have had handfuls of appointments at various Westlake locations and ALWAYS wait anywhere from 10-40 minutes after my appointment time before they are ready, yet I have never complained. Then, the ONE time I am late by 10 minutes, they cancel my appointment. Ironic considering the amount of time I have wasted waiting on them. I have spent significant amounts of money at Westlake and honestly expected to be treated better than how this place consistently acts. Apparently the only time that matters is theirs. Unprofessional. What kind of business doesn't build 10 minutes into appointments anyway especially knowing we live with famous Austin traffic? Go somewhere else who actually pretends to value their customers. You've lost a once loyal customer for life.

I've been a patient of Dr. Lisa Rhodes at Westlake Dermatology for several years. I usually just go in for my annual 'spots and dots' check but I have had to have some minor procedures and I can't praise Dr. Rhodes and her staff enough. Dr. Rhodes always makes me feel totally comfortable and is so friendly and seems to genuinely care about her patients. I never feel rushed or like she has anywhere else to be. She listens carefully to my concerns and explains any interventions that might be needed, as well as what I can expect during the process. I recommend Dr. Rhodes to anyone looking for a dermatologist.

It has been a waste of $2,500 of my hard earned money to go to Westlake Dermatology on their laser treatment packages for my melasma and hyper-pigmentation. I paid for two picos and one fraxel laser treaments on my face. Dr. P said she was confident I should see 80% reduction after three treatments. I am posting the photos below to show their treatments obviously failed. There was no recourse when I complained about lack of progress. According to the receptionist, that was why they made me signed the waiver so that in case the expensive treatments do not work - it is too bad, so sad. When I read posted medical journals and viewed testimonies of other patients on YouTube of better Dermatologists in CA or NY, three non-ablative laser treatments should work to reduce 75% of melasma and hyper-pigmentation. I can only chalk this to the incompetence of the Westlake Dermatology doctor. I would not recommend their services as they come across as really uncaring once you forked over the cash.

Dr. Friedmann is as fake, as people come, definetly doctors. He is willing to pass on pseudoscience as factual information in order to sway his patients and when you ask him to make corrections for his mistake he is willing to put you off for months without ever fixing the problem. Additionally, he uses unbranded Fillers, so when you go in and ask for Bellafill (the filler I had) or any other filler dont expect the real filler (each filler should have brand names on the syringe; which they did not). Do not expect any improvement lasting longer than the downtime; which is only a few weeks. On another note, Dr. Friedmann is not on the list for certified users of Bellafill meaning they dont even get the product from Bellafill maybe some 3rd rate country, but not Bellafill. Lastly, I left this facility with additional scarring on my face from laser resurfacing and divots from injection sites. If I were reading this prior to my experience I would avoid Dr.friedmann like the plague. Unless you want to be left with untreatable skin costing you thousands more than when you came in. I wasted 8000 dollars. I hope you do not.

I cannot stress the positive experience I had with Dr. Craven. His bed side manners are excellent, his character is outstanding, his knowledge is mind-blowing, and his punctuality is precise. He doesnt like to leave his patients waiting. He explains things very thoroughly and I even hugged him! I wont go anywhere else as long as he is practicing. I need another procedure and I asked him to please do that surgery as well. You will LOVE him!

I chose Westlake Dermatology because during my initial call I was able to actually speak to an individual. I wasn't directed to other extensions for answers to my questions (as I was w/another location and still had to leave a message). The receptionist was knowledgable on the services provided and she even went out of her way to find the answers to questions she was not sure about. The staff are very friendly, pleasant and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Friedmann answered all my questions and worked w/my schedule. I am looking forward to getting my procedure done.

This review is specifically for a Mohs procedure I had done about three weeks ago. I've had this surgery once before with a different surgeon in a different city, so I'm familiar with the procedure and the results. From the time of this procedure until I returned for my check-up, the surgery site was inflamed, extremely uncomfortable (at times painful), and the skin was puckered from the sutures. When the sutures were removed, I felt the tightness around the area release and was almost immediately more comfortable, but the puckering of my skin remained. I was prescribed an ointment for the infection and then was told to use scar-away which is supposed to flatten the skin over time. I don't know if the surgeon was rushing as she was rotating through her patients that morning, but the outcome was most definitely unsatisfactory. In fact, a co-worker of mine said the site on my neck looked like a gill! If I need this procedure done again, I'll go elsewhere.

Was diagnosed with a allergic reaction and was prescribed oral steroids even though I have a history of high blood pressure. Doctor Hanft called me to prescribe me a 'mild oral steroid'. I go to the pharmacy and the pharmacist said, 'if i have a history of high blood pressure i strongly reccommend not taking this medication'

Im a 22 yr old woman who was born and raised in Austin but currently lives in NYC. When I decided to get SmartLipo, I knew I needed to fly to Austin to go to Westlake because they are so notorious for their great work. I did not want to take chances with cosmetic surgery and Im so glad I didnt. Dr.Digiorgio and her staff have been so great with me. They return my calls, worked with me over the phone while I was in Brooklyn, and made my first procedure as easy as possible. My second procedure is a few days away and Im feeling very relaxed for it- which is rare for me! Im an anxious wreck and they have been so accommodating of that. I will absolutely return to Dr.Digiorgio and recommend her 100%.

Casey front desk girl was very rude. Couldnt answer basic questions and was condescending the whole time until owards the end when of course when I asked for her name then wanted to act all nice. Tried to speak to manager which to no avail. Just gave me the run around. No apology or call back

Bait and switch billing. Stay away from Westlake Dermatology!! These people claim to be in-network with insurance plans, accept new patients for preventative screening annual check exams, then surprise you with billing codes that are NOT preventative screening, NOT covered by insurance at the same level (if at all), and do NOT tell you in advance. They will also then explain after you have received a bill, that they don't even DO preventative dermatology screenings - you should go to your PCP for that!! What?! Why would I go to my PCP for a dermatology annual well check?!! After billing, they want you to believe that your insurance plan covering dermatology preventative screenings is a mistake, and any misunderstanding is your problem! No attempt to resolve this fundamental 'misunderstanding', especially because as they will remind you, after all you signed the standard intake forms accepting responsibility for all billing not covered by insurance! This is the lowest form of medical fraud!

First of all the dermatology group is nested in a beautiful 'castle' /building in the Westlake hills. The building is beautiful, clean, and the restrooms were easily found. We checked in with very nice ladies and rested in the spacious waiting area--several areas to choose from. Amazingly--we were called for our appointment ON TIME! Tonia and Dr. Chern were a pleasure to meet and talk to about my needs. They were able to tell me the details I needed to know so I could understand. They didn't use the 10 lettered medical words that make me cringe. Dr. Chern was not rushed. We felt like we had enough time to discuss things properly then we left. The check-out ladies were very nice also!

I came to Westlake while I was in town for work because I couldn't wait any longer. I can't thank Dr. Monica Schepp enough! I was able to be seen the next day after I called to make an appointment, she thoroughly explained my diagnosis and prescribed what was needed to clear up my skin. And today I am able to wear ZERO makeup on my face thanks to her treatment!! I've never been able to do that!

Run don't walk from Westlake Dermatology!!!!!!!!!!!I had the worst experience ever with Westlake Dermatology, Westlake location, Dr Buford. I went to have two small growths removed. One was diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma and was recommended to have the Mohs surgery. After getting a second opinion, it was not cancer. I was misdiagnosed and am lucky I did not have an invasive and expensive surgery for nothing. Only to make matters worse, they entered my address wrong in their system and never received an invoice for the difference in my copay and cost of removing the warts. After paying the bill, I still received a letter from a collection agency. This whole practice is a joke, from the Dr and person who read the slide, to the billing agency.

This is a beautiful location with a broad array of services. I believe the plastics do well, but in dealing with the derma side, there seems to be a prioritization of monetizing the client rather than treating the issue.The billing of the whole organization is a absolute mess, and you can read many reports of people being sent to collections without ever getting a bill. I swear I have paid the same bill multiple times, as their system is absolute garbage.I would look for somewhere else that prioritizes customer service and outcomes.

Had high hopes. Went in for a laser procedure and was then told it would cost me 3x as much at Westlake Dermatology $800 as it did with a reputable Plastic Surgeons Office in San Antonio $250. For the same exact laser procedure. Not to mention that the Westlake Dermatologys office somehow scheduled my appointment wrong and sent me up and down their buildings staircase 4 times until someone working there figured out on which floor my doctor was located. Beautiful building, but overpriced laser treatments, and the scheduling/secretary staff dont really understand what theyre doing.

Dr. Nikolaidis injected filler in my face over 2.5 yrs. ago, which caused permanent lumps under my eyes. He told me he was using Voluma to fill out the midface region and it would last a maximum of two years. Without my permission he used this product off-label by placing it in my tear trough area, which is not a good location for a thick filler. I also believe he placed too much volume and/or placed it superficially, which resulted in lumps which were immediately noticeable after I left his office. He also pressed so hard under one of my eyes that I developed a black eye that lasted a week. When I presented my concerns to Dr. Nik, he was extremely dismissive and insulting. Initially, he offered to inject more filler around it, but this obviously concerned me. I allowed him to inject Hyaluronidase to reverse it; however, it didnt work. He also held an inappropriate conversation with one of his nurses in front of me, and then attempted to pacify me with a free eye cream. Furthermore, the nurses and front office staff repeatedly ignored my calls and voice messages about my concerns. Ive already seen a different physician, but I plan to consult more doctors in the near future, including an opthamologist. Ive also filed a complaint with the Texas Medical Board. Take a look at the photos I posted; you've been warned!

I'm a week post breast aug surgery and I'm thrilled with my results! Dr Craven did a wonderful job. He left the final sizing decision up to me but made sure I had the knowledge to make the right decision. I loved his nurses, they made me feel at ease. This was definitely the best surgical experience I've ever had. I was nervous beforehand, but now know there was no reason to be. I kept waiting for the post op pain the get worse, and it never got worse than 'sore, tender, and tightness'. I've never had plastic surgery before, but I would only recommend Westlake dermatology and especially Dr. Craven!
