Dr. Derek Rapp is absolutely amazing! I originally went to Dr. Rapp for excruciating pain in my thumb. He diagnosed and treated my pain. He took the time explain every detail and answered all my questions. I was so impressed with his bedside manner, I scheduled a consultation for a breast reduction. Again, he took the time to discuss the procedure, benefits and risk. I never felt rushed or uncomfortable. He did an excellent job and I couldn't be happier with the results. Absolutely Amazing!

The incision on this last surgery is not even visible a month later. Dr. Rapp is very professional and personable. After each surgery he came out to talk with me to explain how everything went with my husbands surgeries.

My daughter broke three fingers in her hand during cheerleading a year ago. We were recommended to Dr. Rapp by another cheerleader at our gym. From the moment Dr Rapp walked in the room and met with us, my daughter loved Dr. Rapp. Hes thorough and took the time to explain everything to my inquisitive 13 year old. She was heartbroken about the broken bones/surgery and missing cheer, but he assured her that he could fix her hand and get her back to 100%. She believed in him and that made all the difference. She is very interested in the medical field and Dr. Rapp showed her things in the operating room before surgery that she still talks about today. We did not feel like just another patient to Dr. Rapp and that made all of us feel more relaxed and comfortable with the surgery. My daughter did physical therapy at Dr. Rapps Rockwall office. With the help of PT and Dr. Rapps watchful eye, Kenzie was back to normal and fully released in less than six months. Today, she is doing handstands and flips with that hand and you would never know what it looked like last summer. Dr. Rapps entire office staff is wonderful and I know that starts from the top with Dr. Rapp and his associates. I hope that we never have another hand issue in our family, but if we do, we will be seeing Dr. Rapp. He is our #1 choice and we recommend him every chance that we get!

so I work for a physical therapy clinic and when I broke my wrist, they referred me to Dr. Rapp, nobody knew of him and I will be honest I was a bit nervous but went anyways. Best decision ever! From day one it was great care, for my first broken bone the nurse and Dr. Rapp ensured that I was not only comfortable, but always let me know what I could do as far as movements went. He also did an amazing job for the surgery, I know this may be silly, but I have a very important tattoo where my wrist was and I asked him not to ruin it from the surgery, he did not. This tells me that he takes everything into consideration when it comes to his patients :) I would highly recommend him to anyone and I have. Thank you very much Dr. Rapp for taking care of my first broken bone and making sure I was okay until the end.

Dr. Rapp is amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing wrist surgery. He was very candid about the severity of my injury and the complexity of the possible operation. I understood the potential outcomes, both good and bad, if I choose to go ahead with the surgery or just live with the situation. As a young 66 year old woman I was determined to make the best recovery I could and physical therapy went well. Dr. Rapp was very happy with my results and the range of motion I was able to achieve. Before the surgery pain limited my day to day activities. Now I'm back to lifting 40 pound bags without pain. Dr. Rapp's bedside manner is the best. He always made me feel like my situation was important, gave me his undivided attention, and answered all my questions. Also the wait time was very reasonable.

I smashed my right thumb between two 100 pound plates which severed the end of it off. I was worried that I was going to lose my thumb although Dr.Rapp was not only able to save it he was also able make it to where I kept 99% of the length of my thumb and I now have regained 100% function. Dr.Rapp did a wonderful job explaining to me what all my options were for surgery as well as explaining how the process and recovery times. Dr. Rapp made it to where I will be able to continue fishing with my son and daughter and doing all the things we take for granted every day. Thank you Dr.Rapp.

I went to Dr. Rapp for a swan neck pinkie in September. Dr. Rapp explained, in detail, the damage to that finger as well as my ring and middle fingers. I left his office that day with a splint and eight therapy sessions. I followed instructions from him and the therapists and my fingers are well on the road to recovery. When Dr. Rapp tells you to use a paraffin dip, do it!

I had a Zone 2 cut on my left little finger. I had no idea what that meant several months ago, and really when I made the cut did not think it would be any big deal. Then I learned that tendons weave together, and that scar tissue does not work well with that process. On top of all of that, I made the cut to the tendons while I was squeezing the knife, which made cuts a different lengths as it went through the tendon. Well, needless to say, Dr. Rapp did an amazing job repairing and cleaning up the damage I had done. I did tell him that I was much more efficient with the knife, since it only took me a second but it took him a few hours.Also, the therapy that works alongside the surgeon's office was fantastic. They were very helpful and gave me plenty of work that I was able to do on my own, since I travel quite a bit for work. The therapists are very attentive to each progress and need, which I think made my recovery a success. Even though I have not gone to a therapy appointment in months, I continue to do some of the exercises and continue to see results.I highly recommend Dr. Rapp for any surgery you may need his expertise on. He had fantastic bedside manner, explained everything thoroughly, and made me feel very comfortable with the procedure... as well as setting realistic expectations on recovery. I'm thankful he was the surgeon who saved my hand.

STOP READ, THIS IS NOT YOUR NORMAL RECOMMENDATION!I normally have to be beaten, hoodwinked and dragged to a computer to do this.But when someone actually tells you what to expect then performs that service, andIt meets or exceeds that expectations, well I just had to get the word out, so if you would giveme a couple minutes of your time and Ill try to be brief as I share my experience with you.I didnt know Dr. Derek Rapp from any other carpal tunnel surgeon. I was he was refer to me by my primary doctor. I made an appointment with him and from that point on is the reason Im typingthis letter of recommendation. Im the type of person that wants to know good as well as the bad.Well Dr. Rapp diagnosed my problem, gave me my options as well as what to expect with each option.As I elected to have surgery we came up with a plan of action (you notice I said we and not he). I was keep in the loop at all times, making all decisions throughout the process. Whats noteworthy is that after surgery my recovery time was reduced substantially, which would mean to you is a shorter time of being in pain.This man (doctor) knows his craft, and he makes you feel like youre his only patient every time you see him.Im speaking to you as someone who had surgery on both wrists and both elbows and the second day after surgery I was up and about with very little pain and within the week I was basically back to normal with each passing week I was regaining feeling in my fingers and as of two months in I have about 95% of my feeling back in all my fingers. Yes I would like to expose this man (doctor) too the world, great hands and knows his craft.

Personable and Knowledgable . I went in with a number of concerns with my thumb and fingers; pain, swelling, locking joints, etc. I was basically to the point of not being able to use my right hand much, and that is bad when you are right-handed.Dr. Rapp listened to everyone of the issues and then we discussed the possibilities and the actions/treatments. I/We found that there were a number of individual issues compounded and worked our way through them. Today was my last visit, unless something else pops up, because he has taken care of every one of the issues. I am now able to use my hand like I used to and am 99% pain free! That is saying A LOT!!As for him/his staff personally, they are great! The staff greets you warm and friendly, and listens. Dr. Rapp always greets you with a beautiful smile, a handshake when possible (even left-handed if necessary), and the readiness to listen and get you the help you are seeking. He is very good at communicating your issues and detailing what is involved. You don't leave with questions!! I have already referred friends and family.
