I had sought out Dr. Jose Barrera two years ago to surgically remove some scar tissue under my chin from a botched surgery from another PS. By removing the tissue, he advised me that I would have some loose skin. I wasnt ready for a neck lift at the time, but told him Id return. I did return, and here I am one month post op. I didnt have to consult with any other PS, I knew Dr. Barrera was the only PS I could trust. He performed a face lift, neck lift and CO2 laser. I am thrilled with the results. Dr. Barrera is professional, caring, knowledgeable, attentive to your needs, but never tries to push any procedures on you. He is honest about how much of an improvement you can expect. He explains things thoroughly and answers all your questions before and after surgery. I am ever so grateful to Dr. Barrera and his wonderful staff for their continued support through my facial rejuvenation journey.

I came to Dr Barrera after a poorly done rhinoplasty one year ago. I won't go into details on the previous surgery, enough to say is that I was desperate to change my nose appearance as well as improve quality of breathing. When you are going for a revision surgery you want to avoid previous mistakes and try to find best of the bests in this field. And I can say I am 100% satisfied with Dr Barrera and his work.He did a septo-rhinoplasty on me. I was terrified that I'll be horribly swallen after the surgery (after the first one my face looked like it was ran over by a car or I was badly beaten). I came out of operating room without a single bruice and all the bad stuff I was preparing myself for. I could even breath with my nose right after the surgery.The recovery process was so quick that I could go back to my normal lifestyle in just couple of days.But most importantly, he was able to fix the mess created by previous surgeon, my nose looks perfect (it's only been a month, I'm already loving it), and I can breath like never before.I recommend Dr Barrera to everyone seeking the best facial plastic surgeon in San Antonio.

Dr. Barrera is the only doctor I trust now for injectables. I have been to 2 others before who both left my forehead a bit asymmetrical for some reason, but Dr. Barrera does it perfectly. He takes his time, explains everything thoroughly, is not pushy, and is very courteous and professional. He has way too many credentials and awards to list but he is obviously highly respected in his field. Despite being the best, his dysport prices are still way lower than others in the same area. Also, I've never sat waiting for more than 5-10 minutes at his clinic! I hope he never leaves San Antonio lol.

When I came to Dr Barrera he was wonderful at explaining the procedure, but I had my own ideas. I expected alot of pain. There was very little pain. I expected a lot of bruising. There was nearly no bruising.Dr Barrera knew I was afraid of the shot. He spent time making it almost painless. I am one month out from the procedure. I went for a visit with Dr. Barrera because my sleep study doctor highly recommended him and told me that Dr. Barrera was the best in San Antonio. After just my first appointment, I completely agree. I had been to 2 other plastic surgeon's. They told me what they could do, without doing any testing, just based on what I told them. I cannot express the gratitude I feel for Dr. Barrera. I nicknamed him 'Dr. Lovely' because everyone going comes out more lovely. I had the laser skin resurfacing, I get so many compliments on my skin, even from complete strangers and I am 70. I also had a growth on my eye which was so ugly and started interfering with my vision. I suffered with far too long and when my GM was going to have a P.A. take it off, I cringed and knew I wanted no one but Dr. B, to touch my face, because he cares. I am sorry to say that after reading all these reviews I chose Dr. Barrera because I really thought he could help me. I waited anxiously for my appointment day..first they gave me the wrong appointment with his associate, an ENT , then charged me another $75.00 for a cosmetic appointment the same day for which that is what I wanted to begin with. Dr. Barrera spent 10 minutes with me and didnt seem too sympathetic to my needs. I looked forward to meeting him because I really thought I was going to get my needs met. What I got was 10 minutes from a supposedly good Dr. All I can say is how disappointed I was, still am, and learning that some of these reviews we read are fake and must be their friends or business acquaintances that write for them. I really thought he was going to be a caring Dr but thats not what I got . No, I will not go back there, and sorry to say I do not recommend him. Every Customer counts, every one.

I had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Jose Barrera office in San Antonio Texas for Sleep Apnea Consultation. The office space is lovely. The doctors and their staff are awesome and accommodating. I had a bad case of sleep apnea. Therefore, my job was on the line which directly affects my livelihood. As I waited to be seen by Dr. Barreras, my mind was moving 50 miles per minute and I had a lot of questions that I wanted to ask him. When his staff called me back, the office space was very inviting and had the most up-to-date equipment; immediately I felt more relaxed. When Dr. Barreras physician came in and started to talk with me about my medical condition and did an evaluation with his equipment, I was wondering what was next. Then he began to tell me what was wrong to correct my medical condition which included a plan for surgery. Then Dr. Barrera walked in, he immediately answered my hundreds of questions regarding my health and surgery that I had on my mind before I even got the questions out. The doctor gave me a step by step approach to what was needed to correct my Sleep Apnea. The only question that I had then was when can we go to surgery?The doctors and staff had given me so much personal care. I live 3 hours away in Spring, Texas and they had set up a referral doctor in case of emergency to attend me if anything went wrong. They answered questions on my insurance and gave me follow up days in advance. They even set up prescription medications prior to the surgery to make sure that I had them prior to leaving the hospital. Dr. Barreras schedule for surgery was very tight but due to my return to work dates, they made special accommodations to get me into surgery within the following week. The Christus Santa Rosa hospital is where the surgery was performed. A beautiful hospital with family accommodations to sleep and eat if needed. My view overlooked a beautiful golf course. The room was spacious, wood floors which set a calm and relaxing mood for me and my family. After returning home, I was in excruciating pain and could barely talk. The doctor and his staff returned my call immediately to discuss treatment options until I returned for a follow up. My follow up care was excellent and everything was explained on how the surgery went and its recovery time. They have excellent doctors and staff that make your surgery and stay of the utmost comfortable. Since the surgery, my conditions have drastically improved. I refer all people that ask about sleep apnea to him, because they think of your surgery and care as if it was them. Excellent and Awesome

Dr. Barrera and his team were extremely professional and did not complete the surgery until they were completely satisfied with their work. He actually reshapes the ear to look natural. When I started looking for a surgeon a few years ago I could not find anyone that met all my criterias . I was scared to death of changing my face and to be honest I was scared of the things that go along with rhinoplasty and septoplasty surgery (pain and nasal packing). I learned on my first consultation that packing was no longer used and nasal splints were going to be used. It eased my mind because in the splints were straws that allowed you to breath. I am now a month post op and I can tell you that the surgery was a huge success and I had almost zero pain or congestion. I even went to the World Series game a week after surgery! If you are looking for a surgeon that you can trust and someone that can bring you results you have always wished for than you need to call Dr. Berrera and his amazing staff today! Dr. Barrera has been a life saver for my husband. He came highly recommended for sleep apnea by my spine surgeon who also had the same surgery with great success. From the moment we met Dr Barrera and his staff until today, one month post-op, weve had nothing but red carpet service and medical success. My husband went from being exhausted around the clock, gained weight, had trouble sleeping or would sleep way too deep, had constant headaches, mood swings and could literally snore in every position. I would like to thank Dr. Barrera and his team for helping me get my confidence back. When I was 17 I had gotten a rhinoplasty and deviated septum done that turned horribly wrong and had me uncomfortable for just about 13 years. I originally went to Dr. Barrera to see if I can get a filler done to conceal aspects of my nose that I was uncomfortable with. Dr. Barrera gave me his opinion about doing a revision rhinoplasty to correct what I was concerned. He didnt want me to waste money on the filler because it was not going to do what I wanted it to do. I chose to move forward with a revision surgery. Originally my nose had a twist to it as well as a bump due to the first rhinoplasty. They were able to correct it! My nose is now symmetrical and refined. I feel so much better about myself. My deviated septum was also corrected at the same time. I truly recommend dr. Barrera and his team.

When I first when in for a consultation for a mini face lift, he listened to my concerns and suggested what he thought would be the best solution for the outcome I was looking for. Thank goodness for Dr. Barrera and Dr. Gale. When my first ENT gave up trying to help me with my chronic sinus infection, I went to Dr. Barrera and Dr. Gale for a second opinion.
