Very impressed by the organization and professionalism of this practice. Super friendly at all levels and expert work. It has been useful for both myself and two young children. Would highly recommend!

My fear quickly left when I experienced the sincerity and professionalism of Whatcom Eye Surgeons. Dr. Bailey and each of her staff made me feel that I was their only patient. Such detail and caring. When I awoke from the cataract surgery I can only say: MIRACLES HAPPEN. I have been wearing glasses since kindergarten for the past 65 years. Today, and with only one of my eyes done so far, I can see without glasses. Thank you so much Whatcom Eye Surgeons I eagerly look forward to my other eye surgery in a couple of weeks. Jan White

They did my right eye cataracts surgery and was so gentle and quick. I couldn't believe how quick it happened and it didnt even hurt a bit. Great eye surgeons.

While I am still a few weeks away from my new lens completely settling in, I can report with confidence that WES, at both the Bellingham and Mt. Vernon offices, is staffed with talented and responsive folks. The process itself involves quite a light show and has it's unavoidably unpleasant moments but the care and outcome were worth the entire experience.

Recently had cataract surgery - everything went well, doctors and staff are wonderful and I felt very 'taken care of.'

The facility Is open and clean and currently set up well for social distancing. Im not too fond of the automated check in, but its easy and Sandy is there to help with any system (or patient) glitches. I see Dr. Freeman for dry eye treatment following cataract surgery and multi-focal lens implant.. She is very competent and has offered multiple treatment options. She is positive, personable, and is more than willing to listen to patient concerns, questions, and input.

Dr Bailey and her stuff at the surgery center and the clinic in Bellingham are very professional, attentive, courteous and respectful. I had a very good experience during surgery on both my eyes. I would recommend Dr Bailey to anyone and everyone that needs to have cataract surgery. To the entire stuff at Bellingham and Mt. Vernon, thank you!

Exceptional experience for my cataract surgery. Dr. Bailey and all the providers were thorough, caring, and didn't seem to mind me asking questions. Had the actual surgery in Mount Vernon with preop and follow up in Bellingham. Dr. Bailey and Whatcom Eye Surgeons were recommended to me by several acquaintances, including my optometrist.

I'm 1 week postop for my 2nd eye cataract surgery and what a difference! My vision has already significantly improved. Dr. Bailey was my surgeon and she is excellent. The staff has been great also. I would definitely recommend them.

Once again the staff and Dr. Freeman did not disappoint. Their caring attitude and professionalism alleviated my fear of my eye problems and assured me not to worry that these problems are easy to fix. Thank you!

i came in 10mins early to my daughters appointment. Waited over 2 hours to be seen with a 1 half yr old. People came in after us and got token care of right away. After 1 & 30mins of sitting finally asked what is going on & front desk said doctor had a emergency... well communication would have been nice. She was the only doc that seems children yet every other child that came after us got seen first (3kids in there) Finally after 2 hours of sitting they FINALLY see us.. wasnt even in that dang room for 15 mins. Tells us to come back in 6 months.. and she had a sty infection. Rushed me out and didnt even ask if we had a prescription. This was probably the worst experience Ive had at a doctors office. I will not come back.

Walked in for my six year old daughters appointment. And the lady, Ill get her name and update later, immediately said nope, wait in line and check in right at the computer she really dislikes working with people so why is she your greeter???? She Didnt say hello, or how can I help you. In fact, I didnt even get one word out before she abruptly put me in my place in line. I then overheard her answer the phone and just say hello, yeah this is. Meaning she answered the business line like it was her home phone. There were two other ladies in front of me and they obviously had both been treated the same way, as we laughed and talked about how this woman mustve been in a bad mood. Come on. You guys can do better than this! And if you are TOO BOOKED- take less patients. Or get more staff. But to treat people poorly like that at 9:00 in the morning is a joke. The doctor we see, Dr. Carlson, she is brilliant, and shes great with the kids. Doesnt have the warmest personality, but her expertise and knowledge make up for it. Plus, shes not rude, just not someone ya joke with. But shes phenomenal. I highly recommended her! Her nurses in the back are great too!!

One if the pictures on the kids' eye test chart is a rotary phone. For real. When my child clearly could not see the bottom row of pictures, the Dr. starts giving her a 50/50 chance, 'is it a cake, or a bird?' Not a very reliable way of testing if you ask me. Got my child's glasses and she says, 'everything looks like it's going downhill!' LOL! We're going somewhere else.

Fist and foremost, the cataract surgery was a great success. The result exceeds my expectations. Second, visiting your offices (B'ham and Mt. Vernon), was a VERY mixed experience. My first impression of the front desk staff at both locations was: cold, impersonal; too busy to even look up from their computer; machine-like focus on the task.. unpleasant interaction. Same with the first female doctor who examined my eyes -- cold, impersonal, unfriendly, did not listen well, no sense of connection with me (the patient). I imagined the desk staff was NOT well trained regarding interpersonal skills. I almost walked out.Later, after interacting with other nurses, tech staff, and the surgery doctor, I had a totally different experience. They were friendly, personable, focused, listened constructively, helpful in understanding my eye situation and my surgery options. I felt well taken care by sincere TEAM of professionals during the entire surgery process. It was a huge contrast to my first impression. The only other comment was that it was disturbing to see so many basic mistakes in the surgery instructions. We had to speak with the office manager and the surgeon to ensure we all were on the same page regarding the basics -- which eye and what lens was being done on the cataract surgery days. Overall, I recommend Northwest Eyes. I think the older, more experienced staff and doctors are trying hard to create a successful experience for their patients. However, as a retired organization development consultant who specialized in the power of 'culture', I'd say this group has real work to do to create a sense of bonding as a whole team, and alignment regarding their core values as a business.

My wife is the patient. We were both impressed by Dr. Bailey's 'bedsidemanner'. She was considerate and thorough in her examination. My wife hasn't had the surgery yet but we feel optimistic and reassured.

Dr. Bailey and everyone at northwest eye surgeons were professional, capable, and very pleasant. Even on medicare, everyone was friendly and helpful. The procedure was far quicker and more comfortable than I had expected. Dr. Bailey has done hundreds of these each month for many years. I felt that I was in good hands.Dr. Bailey counseled me nicely on my choice of lenses and corrections. I felt almost like their only patient. There is no production line feeling here.

My 3 year old was in and out with a perfect diagnosis. The doctor really knew what she was doing with her! We've seen 3 other specialists, and I was so impressed! The waiting rooms were neat and clean, the staff was very welcoming. Thank you!

Everyone at this office has been helpful, considerate friendly. Dr. Cuzin did Glaucoma and cataract surgery on my left eye which was very successful and my follow-up treatment and check-ups by Dr. Wright have all been a very good experience. Dr. Wright especially is thoughtful, listens to your concerns and makes every effort to address them. Also, I have never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes which is extraordinary for a medical office.

While my pre- and post-op visits were in Bellingham, I had the surgery in Mt. Vernon. I found everyone friendly, knowledgeable, reassuring, thorough and obviously caring. They all did everything possible to make me comfortable and when it was clear I was not comfortable, they did whatever they could to make it so. When I went for the next day exam, and it was apparent that my eye wasn't responding quite as expected, the doctor indicated he would alert the surgeon and asked me to come for another checkup before the weekend. I appreciate that extra step in the follow up.

Just got off the phone with the practice manager for the Bellingham office. Not a good experience. I was told: 'patient care is up to the patient.' No, it most certainly is not! Patient care is up to you! I had called him as I was frustrated with the lack of communication regarding test results. I was ready to go elsewhere to seek care. I was frightened by the practice managers total lack of care & consideration. However, within five minutes of hanging up with him, Dr. Bailey called me. She clearly & concisely explained all of my test results, made a plan of care & GRACIOUSLY apologized. My issue has never been with Dr. Bailey. She is amazing.Be that as it may, I cannot recommend this office. I have been waiting in total since January for a diagnostic spinal tap. Just found out from my insurance that they notified NW Eyes on 3/8 that no pre auth is required for the CPT code provided. They again did not follow up with me nor has anyone from that office bothered to call me. I did the leg work for them & got it scheduled w/ zero assistance from them.It us funny & sad, but I consider this a learning experience!

The staff and my doctor were very friendly and professional. The front office is weird. The receptionist does not have a desk. She has a TV tray and a section of what looks like a kitchen cabinet. Not the best first impression, but she was a good sport.

I was referred to Dr. Cadera by my specialist while attempting to recover my stereo vision lost due to untreated Strabismus/Amblyopia. I wanted to write this review as a genuine thank you to both his staff and Dr. Cadera. After 3 appointments a resolution has been met concerning my future prospects of a successful surgery resulting in stereo vision.Even though I am disappointed in this resolution, I am very happy with the professionalism, compassionate interaction I received throughout this process. Ms. Nguyen was especially clear and caring in her communication while working with me. I'd recommend NW Eye Surgeons without hesitation.

Very kind folks! Had a small snafu with getting access to the patient rights and responsibilities document (they didn't realize their software was acting up), but I received it just fine after I clarified my trouble.

There was a terrible wait. And from what other people were saying in the waiting room, that is a regular thing. This was our first time there and they had referred to us by our pediatrician. When we did get to see dr. Carlson, she was absolutely amazing and almost worth the 2 hour wait after our scheduled time.
