I would highly recommend Dr. Schaffer to anyone. I had a breast reduction and lift on 05-04-20. I am more than pleased with my results and recovery thus far. My experience with him has been fantastic from the initial appointment. He is very informative and detail oriented. He took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure and address all of my concerns in the initial appointment. I have hemophilia, and I think what impressed me the most was that Dr. Schaffer took the time to speak with my hematologists office in depth about my condition prior to surgery. The staff is very friendly and efficient as well. I had always been told that I would have to jump through hoops to get the procedure covered by my insurance, but his staff was able to get this approved for me quickly and without a problem. Thank you, Dr. Schaffer and staff for eliminating my back and neck pain and boosting my confidence. Also, the office itself is one of the most beautiful offices that I have ever seen. 10/10 would recommend.

Dr. Schaffer came recommend from my best friend after results were wonderful from her surgery. I met with Dr Schaffer to discuss what could be done for me. He was able to fixed a botched surgery from a local very popular plastic surgery facility. I was amazed to find that after Dr Schaffer surgery I have not had any medical problems. I am 4 months out. No problems what so ever and I am completely amazed. I have been a nurse for 20 years and medical professionals get the highest leeway but I am convinced that a facility or name is only as good as its doctors and staff. Dr Schaffer and staff are professional and very experienced. I cant say enough. What a blessing!!!!

Out of 5 stars, I would give Dr. Schaffer & his staff 10! For two years, I have been contemplating a breast reduction. Being only 24, I was concerned that I would not be able to find a physician who could reduce my size while also maintaining my femininity, but I found the perfect surgeon! From day one, Dr. Schaffer was so kind, patient & honest while taking time to answer any questions and address my concerns. I am now 3 weeks post operative and could not be any happier with my results! The day of the surgery, he took extra time to discuss the process with my husband, both parents and in-laws all while making me feel SAFE! He has such a calm demeanor and his entire staff from the front desk to his nurses truly make you feel like family. I highly recommend Dr. Schaffer and applaud him for the incredible work he does!

I used Dr. Schaffer many years ago for a procedure. I loved the fact that he listened to me and took the time to explain the process. He was honest about the fact that due to my build my outcome may not be exactly like I was wanting based on photos of others I was looking at. He earned my trust very quickly due to his honesty. Dr.Schaffer performed an outpatient breast augmentation for me in his surgical suite at his clinic and I have been so pleased. From the initial consult, to my follow up appointments everyone has been so friendly, and helpful. I called the clinic (a lot) leading up to my surgery and Spencer was always SO nice to answer my many questions. Sarah worked with me and let me do almost all my preoperative paperwork and lab work here in my hometown since I live 100+ miles away from Birmingham. At my consult he listened to my concerns, answered all my questions and didnt pressure me into any certain implant or size. My results have been nothing short of amazing. Several years ago I decided to seriously consider the possibility of having cosmetic surgery done to help me achieve what I couldn't with just diet and exercise. Knowing that any surgery has risks, I didn't want to settle for just any plastic surgeon. So I started searching for potential doctors and came across Dr Schaffer and knew that was the right choice for my surgeon. From my first consultation with him to my last post op visit, he has never been anything but a caring, knowledgeable, friendly, and patient focused physician whom I trust completely not only for the quality of his work but also for the safety of his patients. He treated several of my stubborn areas with lipo a few years ago at his previous practice and did a breast reduction recently for me at his new practice. He did a great job on all and I have loved the results of everything! As for his staff, I cannot say enough about how friendly and helpful they have been to me from beginning to end. I had a breast implant exchange and slightly larger augmentation done on Monday of this week. My pain has been minimal and the recovery has been a breeze. Dr. Schaffer has been fantastic throughout the whole experience and respected my wishes of not going to large, just enough to look in proportion to my body. I had another surgeon really try to push going large with my new implants and I just wasnt comfortable with that. Ive already recommended friends to him and if/when I need another cosmetic procedure, hands down I will use Dr. Schaffer!

I had a breast reduction surgery in September 2018. Dr Schaffer has been professional, patient, and reassuring. I was completely satisfied with the consultation, and the time he took to answer questions regarding the procedure. The day of the surgery everyone on the staff was pleasant, funny, and reassuring. Very pleased with Dr. Schaffer and this is being said after a complication! Dr. Schaffer did my silicone breast implants in early February of this year. Unfortunately, after getting home from surgery, I began developing a hematoma to the left breast (a rare, but known risk of breast augmentation surgery). Dr. Schaffer was easy to reach on his personal cell that evening in order to discuss our concerns as soon as we noticed something was wrong. He promptly took me back into the OR the next morning for hematoma evacuation at a nominal cost to me (even though I had not initially purchased the supplemental insurance). Today my breasts look fabulous and I had little to no additional recovery pain or down time despite the complication. Hats off to Dr. Schaffer for being a fair and honest provider and doing good business. I think this has a lot to say for his integrity and genuine good nature.

Never felt rushed, he always gave me the opportunity to ask more questions or voice my concerns. Received a kind greeting at the beginning and from nurses and other staff. They were welcoming but the day I came, were also seemingly very behind on consults, so I waited almost an hour. No big deal, because I understand getting behind/busy. I was a bit nervous about the consultation and my fears were not eased when I finally saw Dr. Schaffer. I mentioned my concerns and what I was looking to do and though he may have been attempting to ease my concerns, it came off as condescending. Additionally, though he explained the procedure in detail, he didn't set any time of expectations or concerns for my results due to size/tissue, etc. The scheduling person was quite friendly and helpful at walking through things, though his pricing is quite a bit higher than many others in the area and it doesn't seem warranted as his results (from viewing pictures) are the same level of skill as others locally. Additionally, his options for payment were may more limited and charged a hefty fee on top of credit cards if you chose that route (I could understand a small fee since it's a large transaction, but the percentage they charged would cost another $1000 on top of the usual fees). Overall, though his staff was wonderful and helpful, I would recommend finding another surgeon that is just as skilled and better at easing nerves about potential procedures, along with additional payment options, before going with Dr. Schaffer.

While I am not a patient of Dr Schaffer's, I have been to his offices on numerous occasions during my girlfriend's breast reduction surgery. Everything was really perfect. The offices are truly beautiful, the staff were kind and thoughtful to her (and to me), and Dr. Schaffer is super nice. He's also really, really good at what he does. Pre-surgery they were very kind and explained all the expectations and procedures. During the surgery, I was directed to a special waiting room, and they kept looking in on me with updates about her condition and progress, and this was very calming during an admittedly nervous time. The after care information was very helpful and we've had good followup, and she is very happy with the results (as am I). Overall, from my perspective, I can not recommend Dr. Schaffer and his team enough. Excellent.

After losing 50 pounds over a period of a year and decided to get a tummy tuck....Dr Schaffer did my tummy tuck and I am so PLEASED . He walked me through the entire process from start to finish, and always accepted my call if I wasnt feeling up to par. Super super and I mean super stellar Dr. My exchange surgery went phenomenal and my recovery process so quick and smooth. I had a minor pain setback (nothing due to his work) but he was there to help me through. If I ever have to have them replaced again (this was the first after 12 years from another doctor) then I will by far travel the distance to see him. After visiting several plastic surgeons including surgeons outside of the state I decided to have my surgery with Doctor Schaffer for several reasons. Not only does he actually listen to you and lets you tell him what you want but he gives you an honest decision as to final results. Many doctors dont do that and just say yes to everything just to try and end the consultation as fast as possible! Dr. Schaffer took his time to explain the BBL procedure, post operative care and final results. I highly recommend Dr. Schaffer. After two months of my surgery I am extremely pleased with my results. His staff Blake and Lauren are hands down, the most caring and compassionate nurse and nurse anesthetist, that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I was unfortunate to have a mishap during one surgery, but Dr. Schaffer was right there for me. Im 42 years old, with various medical conditions, and I was given his personal cell phone number in case any problems were to arise. He took the time to explain each and every procedure, and not once did he ever make me feel like I was a bother. I truly love this practice and all of the staff! They have been such an amazing blessing to me! Dr. Schaffer did my first breast augmentation in 2010 in my home town of Tampa. He is an excellent doctor with exceptional bedside manner. He followed a program called rapid recovery and that was exactly my experience. The day of surgery I was doing small exercises with my arms and the night of surgery he had me go out to dinner. The day after the surgery I did a little more than the first day and was able to discontinue pain medications. I would never see another plastic surgeon for any treatment. 9 years and 2 kids later I was ready to have my implants replaced to increase my size and get back to my pre mommy body. I found that Dr. Schaffer had moved to Alabama and if I was to be treated by him I would have to take a trip. I wasnt sure about the travel as we all have the voice in the back of our head that says what if you need your doctor on a whim, so I visited a couple of surgeons in my home town. After 2 consults I knew that no one other than Dr. Schaffer was going to be my surgeon. We started with a FaceTime consultation (you have to love technology,) Dr. Schaffer was just as kind and caring as I recall. We discussed my wants and needs and within 30 minutes of the call I had my estimate via email. The pricing was phenomenal. I scheduled my surgery for 2 months out from the consult and throughout the time leading up to surgery I was able to ask questions or voice concerns and was given quick professional responses. His lead nurse Joely is one of kind and youll be as lucky as Dr. Schaffer to have her by your side. She gave me her personal cell number and helped me whenever I needed her. I was finally off to Alabama and greeted by the kindest people from airport security to the Uber driver. Our hotel Hyatt Place was about 5 minutes away from the office and perfect for a 3 day stay. The day of the surgery I met the front desk staff, nurses, the anesthetist Bradley and of course Joely!! Everyone was absolutely wonderful and I couldnt speak anymore highly of my experience from consult to surgery to post op care. I again discontinued meds the day after surgery and am back to work 3 days later. Dr. Schaffer is the best surgeon and I would travel again high and low to be treated by him and his staff.

The facility is beautiful, welcoming and clean. The receptionist was amazing and made me feel at ease immediately. Nurse Joel Garth was very knowledgeable about the procedure and recovery. The CRNA was also amazing. He was really chill, but professional at the same time, which helped calm me down in pre-op. Maria who was my nurse in post-op was also really sweet. She spent a lot of time with me trying on different post-op bras until we finally found one that fit me correctly and comfortably. I had a question after hours and called their answering service. My call was returned within 15 minutes. The nurse and Dr. Schaffer were very patient, helpful, and understanding while answering my questions after hours. I want to thank Dr. Schaffer and his staff so much for everything they did for me. I am incredibly happy with my results. So, i got saline implants in 2016 with a nipple reduction. The suture in the nipple continued to come undone, after 3 times i decided to check out different surgeons. I got a consultation at Shaeffer and then Heddon. Even though Shaeffer was a tad more in $ i regret not going to him to fix my nipple reduction, because it is occurring again. His office is beautiful and his staff is AWESOME compared to Heddon. GO TO SHAEFFER, i wish i did.
