Dr. Matthew Swelstad Reviews

Dr Swelstad is an amazing surgeon. I have been to other plastic surgeons and general surgeons in the past 28 years, and none compare to him. I have had 3 surgeries (2 in the last few months), performed by Dr. Swelstad and each surgery has come out better than I ever imagined. What I like about him... is kindness, compassionate heart, and he really listens. He doesn't downgrade you in any way or make you feel bad about the physical problems you face. Great bedside manner and I know he pays attention to details, like scarring etc... His work has made a huge difference in my life and I will be eternally thankful. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a top notch surgeon. Thank you, Dr. Swelstad.

I can not put into words how much I love Dr. Swelstad! I went to him in a tragic state after a double mastectomy and asked that he work wonders in order to repair my chest. He went above and beyond. He was compassionate, friendly, informative. If I ever had a problem or concern his staff was always quick to answer any questions. Dr. Swelstad is one of the best doctors I have ever encountered and I will continue to recommend him to anyone who asks!

I would recommend Dr. Swelstad and his staff 100%. This is the first surgical experience I have had, and it could not have gone better. Dr. Swelstad was professional, kind and warm, made me feel at ease, and was patient to answer all my questions. He was very careful to understand exactly what I wanted, and the results of my surgery were even better than I'd expected. He and his staff were attentive in all follow up visits and questions and really do care about their patients. Completely positive experience form start to finish!

Dr. Swelstad helped me with a work comp injury to my wrist. He did an excellent job and I have been very pleased with his work. He took the extra time to repair the artery so that I wouldn't have numbness in my thumb. Three years later no numbness and I have 100% use of my wrist. I feel very lucky that Dr. Swelstad was on call the day I went to St Mary's ER.

Dr. Swelstad was the surgeon that performed my reduction in 2015! He did an amazing job of giving me exactly what I needed. He listened carefully and with much discretion about my needs. Two and a half years later I have minimal scaring (with this surgery you go in knowing there will be some scaring) and my back feels 100 times better. I was even able to get back to running outside like I so deeply love to do!

I wanted some procedures done, I interviewed a few Drs., when I met Dr Swelstad and his staff there was no question he was the Best Dr. He did great work, life changing for me, and a great bed side manner, I recommend him to many friends who feel the same as I do. I trusted him enough to take my daughter to him, she was nauseous after her surgery I called the Nurse's number to get advise, around midnight and Dr Swelstad answered, and told us what to do to calm her stomach, I couldn't ask for more! He is wonderful!

Dr. swelstad did an amazing job on my tummy tuck. My scar is hardly even noticeable and I look amazing. When his office was busy and I had to wait longer than expected he paid for me to have an hour-long facial there also which was fantastic! I plan on having a little more work done in the future and I am definitely going to go back!

My concern was very minor in the grand scheme of things. A torn ear lobe. But Dr. Swelstad took the time to make me feel like my concern was important to him and his staff. Thanks for taking the time to sew my ear. It looks perfect now.

Dr. Swelstad is very kind and listens well. I took my son to him to fix a scar he had from an accident by his eye. He took the time to answer all of my questions, examine my sons face, and also determined which way he would do the stitches to best suit his face. Now, after it's been healing the scar isn't as noticeable. We are very satisfied with how Dr. Swelstad treated my son and I, and will definitely come to him in the future for any other surgery.

One of the best doctors i have ever seen with kids. When people think of plastic surgery or skin care a lot of the time they forget there are kiddos that require those services. I'm very grateful for what dr. Swelstad has done for my daughter and will continue to do as she grows and we face another procedure.

Dr. Swelstad has been apart of our family for a while now. From taking care of my parents skin cancer to now helping my daughter through a tough scar in the center of her forehead. We went there for a conceltation and he made her feel so welcome and comfortable. When she is ready for surgery we Will be going there to take care of our problems. Thank you all so much. Especially the lovely ladies at the front desk

I took my 6 year daughter to Dr. Swelstad for plastic surgery to close up a bike accident injury on her chin and it was a horrible first experience for her and me. Dr. Swelstad advertises that he is specializes in pediatric plastics. However there was nothing 'kid-friendly' about him. From the minute he walked into the exam room to the follow-up after surgery his patient relations and/or bedside manner was awful. On numerous occasions he was condescending, rude, offensive and arrogant to me, in addition to making no effort to relate or build a patient relationship with my daughter to make her feel comfortable in a strange and traumatizing situation. In fact, on several occasions he scared her more with his words. The staff and anesthesiologist were great however and made efforts to relate to a child and make her feel comfortable in a foreign and scary situation. I am grateful that he was available to perform the surgery, it was 8 days ago, so I can not comment on his surgical skills, but she seems to be healing well. I will not return to him for the follow up appointment or ever again.

My first visit was at a Regenisis luncheon, as the guest of my friend, Dianne. She looked so amazing, as the result of the J-Plasma procedure, which was performed by Dr. Hartshorne, that I knew I had to check it out. I was anxious to attend the luncheon to see what new procedures were available. Dr. Swelstad and Dr. Hartshorn spoke to a dozen women about the many different options that were available to enhance the face through fillers, Botox and skin resurfacing. Dr Swelstad then invited our group to view an actual procedure. There he injected fillers in and around the mouth of a patient, and oh my gosh, it gave immediate results! It is amazing how just a little filler can lift the mouth and enhance the overall look of the lower part of the face. That's exactly what I needed and I immediately set up a consultation with Dr. Swelstad. I have had Botox injections for many years and that was the first thing that he did. Yay, the mad face and frown lines are gone! On my second visit I was able to try out the fillers. Dr. Swelstad injected a bit around my mouth and some in between my chin and jowls and I must say, it made a subtle difference and I am very happy with the results. I would recommend Regenisis to anyone who needs a bit of a youth boost. Seriously, Regenisis offers many different procedures and all of the doctors are Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. The entire staff is well informed and very professional. It has been a wonderful experience.

So I wasted a half hour of my life today, going to a plastic surgeon. I should have gone to orthopedic doctor who specialized in hands, but I got some arrogant man (who couldn't handle that someone like me could articulate myself using proper English)My son is autistic, has ADHD and is a savant. He is fascinated with phones, touchscreen devices and locks. I asked this doctor when he came in, to please put his phone in a safe place (trying to explain my son, because these people out here are so willing to stare and judge, but they can never understand). The few minutes he spent with me, he could have put his phone up, but how dare I, a woman and an 'other' question him?See the pics for what happened to my finger. I guess this man also thinks people like me have some sort of preternatural ability to endure pain, because he had his nurse slap some band-aids on it with some neosporin. He felt Tylenol would help with this pain, then tried to tell me about heroin addicts, like I care about Becky with the Bad Addiction. I grew up in a family of crackheads, and I have NEVER tried an illicit drug. I moved to Colorado because after a stroke at the age of 25, after living all my life with conditions that were beaten into me, I get tired of dealing with doctors who want to label me off the bat. I am not, and never will be a drug seeker. I'm only in their damned database out here three times (for an opiate script, which I insisted he give me, plus what they gave me in the ER). That's probably all that will ever be. I'll never willingly see a doctor again, other than the yearly physical and well-woman check up. I'm sick and tired of being labeled. I get up every day in pain, and I deal with it. I don't even like these pills, but since I'm on my own and I have to dress, bathe, practically manually feed and corral a busy child....since I've been hitting this finger 20 times a day trying to continue my independent life, you goddamned right I'm going to ask for pain pills. It seems that no matter what I do, weight loss, organic diet, lists of all the supplements I've tried...nothing will convince these arrogant people that my pain is real. But you'll give these rich people percs for pain after boob jobs (and I'm not even talking about reconstructive surgery after cancer, either) and their little turkey gullet tucks. I lost my damned finger and you tell me Tylenol...sure. No, you don't have to read my mind, but if you listened, instead of trying to talk over me (I love patriarchy)...Like I said, I moved to Colorado so I never have to endure another panic attack, sleepless night, loss of apetite, this crushing depression, all-over joint pain, or any of that, cold turkey. You can call it psychosomatic if you want (I know exactly what you pissants say and what it means), but I do know that if you live your life with cortisol constantly running through your system, it's been medically proven that this can create many imbalances, among them autoimmune ones. I'm not letting doctors minimize my pain anymore. And I'm not letting this one bill my insurance for absolutely nothing again. You want a boob job? Go to him. You have a legit injury, good luck finding a doctor that will listen, because apparently they're all too busy saving their asses from people whose behaviors are easily tracked, to listen to their patients. I am NOT a goddamned drug seeker. How dare you infer anything of the sort. I hope these people realize I will sue them into nonexistence if they even try to infer such a thing any further than they already have. They'd have to prove that I wasn't treating an injury. The damned ER had to numb my hand just to wrap it up, they took my pain seriously, but somehow you can't. Trust me, people of my 'ilk' can indeed feel pain, no matter how much your worldview and the behaviors that come from it, have pressed it upon us. How dare you?
