Met with Dr. Serra about a possible issue. Oh my goodness, he was not only professional & knowledgeable, he was so personable, spent so much time with us answering questions and explaining things. He also gave us a lot of information about himself which we appreciated. I haven't had any procedures done by him so I can't attest to that, but if I needed one, I would definitely use him. I got in right on time and like I said, he spent a good amount of time with us. His receptionist wasn't overly friendly, but it was at the end of the day. Overall a great experience and would go back if I needed to.

The receptionist, assistant & doctor were all very nice. I was late for the consultation but they were very understanding. There was no wait time -not in the reception area or the exam room. Dr. Serra is very personable& knowledgeable . He did not rush me, took time for the exam and when giving explanations & answering questions. I would certainly trust him & recommend him to anyone else looking for plastic surgeon.

Dr. was nice, but he did not speak to me, he directed everything towards my husband, which seemed odd. Receptionist showed us to the room and Dr. Serra came in. We did not wait too long which was nice. Dr. looked over my paperwork quickly & what procedure I was there for and then started talking to my husband. Asked my husband what he did for a job and talked to him about things (while I sat there listening)... Dr. Serra told us about himself (which was nice for a personal level), but I got the feeling he did not want to do the surgery from the before he walked in the door. No actual exam or consultation, no asking me to put a robe on and so the Dr. can examine what I was there for. Dr. Serra told us about how he's friends with his ex-wife's trainer ex-boyfriend and he's not a 250+ lbs fat man anymore... Getting his background was nice, if we were to actually use him. He scolded me on smoking (even though I quit for the surgery) and how he was very conservative. Told me we can go to another place and get other consults and in 6 months if I wanted to come back maybe I could. Finally, just before we were leaving Dr. Serra asked me what MY job was (yep about 15 min conversation and he knew all about my husband but not much about me). We decided to ask what the surgery would cost (just to get an idea) and he said $7500 for a breast augmentation. After all the research we did that was a higher quote than anywhere in Florida. I felt he was just throwing an expensive number out there to deter us from his smaller office practice, which worked. We ended up having another consult at Gaines Plastic Surgery with Dr. Greg Gaines in Gainesville and liked him so much we booked the surgery. I am very happy it did not work out w/ Dr. Serra because I found Dr. Gaines.
