Horrible bedside manner. Always rushed. Doesn't take the time to listen. When a patient tells him that she has been having bladder infections continually he just tells them to suck it up. That they are being treated too much and to call back later. But that is if you can get in. Went to a different doctor and they actually took the time to find the reason and found a hole in the back of the bladder into the bowel. Kinda wonder if Barker left it there from the last surgery. Never going back to this incompetent doctor.

Recommend, was very sincere and knowledgeable. I had three people recommend him to me. He helped ease my cystitis pain. I was waiting in the waiting room for a series of Instilations (which is done by nurses and I was there on a day were he was in surgery all day) and he happened to be walking past the waiting room. He went out of his way to stop to check on how I was recovering.

Dr. Barker performed surgery on me in November of 2014. I had a hysterectomy, bladder sling repair and bowel repair done. When I met Dr. Barker, he was in a huge hurry....he rushed through my initial visit and I even commented to him that it appeared they were shoving people through like cattle...he agreed. Later, in his office, he did what I call an 'auctioneer's cry' to dictate his notes into his computer. He had a medical student in the office at the same time...when he started his banter, I looked over at her like 'what the heck is this about??!!' and she just rolled her eyes! Dr. Barker promised me that I would be able to ride my horse again once this surgery was done....not true. After my surgery, I did not recover as planned and I had to resign from my job position at HCHA in Hendricks, MN. ( I could only bear to be on my feet for 10-20 minutes at a time and could not urinate on my own for four months). I have numbness on the inner thigh of my left leg and the muscles just about my knees simply don't work anymore (I can no longer rise from a squat to a standing position). Through the followup checkups, I never one time saw Dr. Barker...only his PA & clinic nurse. I told them about all my difficulties, etc. and no one made any effort to help me.Dr. Barker ruined my life...I have not felt well ever since he performed surgery on me. His line about concern for his patients, etc that he has posted in his bio, is a joke. This man has dollar signs in his eyes and that is what he is concerned with. I would never recommend him to anyone.
