I came to Dr. McMahan on a referral from a friend. I have long considered a tummy tuck to repair my abdominal muscles after two prior surgeries in college for a bowel resection left me with my ab muscles cut straight in half (and 2 pregnancies did not help the area!). Dr. McMahan explained everything to me in detail during my consultation and I signed up for the surgery that day. His office staff was WONDERFUL preparing me for the day of surgery and making sure all of my questions were answered. I felt very comfortable. I was undoubtedly nervous the day of surgery but Dr. McMahan, the nursing staff and the remaining staff at the surgery center made me feel so at ease. The entire process was seamless and exceeded my expectations. I was extremely comfortable after surgery and the pain was far less than I anticipated. Dr. McMahan called me the night of surgery to check in and continued to follow my care throughout recovery. He is a phenomenal surgeon and I am so thrilled with my results! I highly, highly recommend him!

I had a circumferential abdomoplasty on 9/27/18. Wow, simply phenomenal! Incredible work and the cost is great if you compare to other surgeons of his superior talent level. Turned out better than expected (after it healed of course, I'm at six months after surgery, looks great but still more healing to go as well). I'm just so pleased and impressed with Dr McMahan, Michaelangelo if you will, and everyone in the office. They are all super fabulous. Thank You!!! You have greatly improvement my quality of life! Dr. McMahan and his team are very professional and caring. I had gone to see him about replacing a chin implant I had done a couple years earlier. Dr. McMahan did an excellent job of picking a new replacement implant and correcting my previous surgery. I am very very pleased with the surgery I received recently from Dr. McMahan. I came to see him in regards to a chin implant I had gotten 4 years ago that had completely migrated to the side of my face right on top of my mental nerve, causing pain and numbness of my lip/chin area. The doctor who originally did the surgery told me it could not be fixed and informed me nothing was wrong. Dr. McMahan completed re-vision surgery, putting in a new chin implant that better suited my face, which was placed in the PROPER position, unlike the first surgery. I am SO happy with the results and it turned out better than I had expected. Not having to stress about permanently losing feeling in my face is priceless. Also, the pricing was completely reasonable. I would definitely recommend Dr. McMahan!

The office of Dr. McMahan is absolutely top notch!! They have the best staff, they are all friendly, accommodating, discreet and professional. I always feel I am in good care with the staff. Dr. McMahan is extremely wonderful to work with, he listens to you and answers all of your questions or concerns professionally and completely. His work is beautiful. I have had 2 surgeries by him as well as having a basal cell spot of skin cancer removed on a very prominent area on my chest that can be seen with any top I wear and the scare is so minimal you can hardly notice. He takes great care with his patients and always does what is in their best interest and makes us feel fabulous! I have recommended this office in the past to others and will continue to do so in the future! Simply spectacular!!

I had a tummy tuck with Dr. McMahan a month ago after consulting with several surgeons. His office staff is amazing and I have never had to wait when I have an appointment. He was honest about what to expect before, during and after surgery. I never felt like he was trying to sell me and I felt that way in my other consults. In fact, he did the opposite when he told me I didn't need a procedure that I asked about. I was impressed that the night of my surgery Dr. McMahan called me at home to check on me. As a nurse myself, I know that's rare to find a doctor who does that. I'm so pleased with my results and I'm still recovering so I know it will just continue to improve. I feel that from consult to finish he took my needs and 'wishes' into consideration and it shows in my results. I would recommend him to anyone looking to have a cosmetic procedure!

This surgeon is fantastic. Dr. James McMahon is A wonderful dr, who takes his job very seriously and is concerned about the overall well being and satisfaction of his patients. I was very nervous about getting a breast reduction but after meetin him and the staff, who are so friendly and kind, I left feeling confidant I had chosen the right place and doctor who would give me the best treatment possible. I was coming in from out of town and they even put me up in a wonderful cabin suite the night before and the surgery center was beautiful and everyone there was so kind and caring. He is a fantastic doctor! Very intelligent, practical and expects the best. I wanted the best care possible and he did just that ! Plastic surgery is a bit of an art form and takes an artistic eye too and my results post surgery are fabulous. The surgical lines are so faint you can barely tell they are there and it looks natural. Like how I always saw and imagined myself looking. He is seriously one of the best surgeons around. I had little to minimal pain and was up walking around getting something to eat the day of surgery and then back to work in literally a couple of days. That's an excellent doctor! I would see him again in a heart beat and recommend him to anyone looking for a great plastic surgeon! I'd travel to see this guy!! He's great!! I'm just your average female, but I was treated as if I was the most important person there. I give Dr. McMahan my highest recommendation. I went to him because of numerous referrals from friends who are nurses and Dr's wives that know the plastic surgeons in Columbus. Despite the recommendations, I had several other consultations and, as I was told, Dr. McMahan's was by far the most comprehensive and informing. My recovery was easier that expected and I am ecstatic with my result. He could charge so much more than the other surgeons, but he doesn't. His price was actually less than several of the other plastic surgeons I saw. If you are considering plastic surgery in Columbus, definitely see Dr. McMahan!

I saw three surgeons to consult on having abdominoplasty and they all had the same treatment plan for me and the prices barely differed. So in the end, the decision was based on who my husband and I felt the most confident in and comfortable with. We chose Dr. McMahan and we have no regrets! I had an extended mini tummy tuck with lipo. I'm thrilled with my results! After having two children and a 100 pound weights loss, there were some things the gym simply could not fix, only a plastic surgeon could take that loose skin I called my apron away. I could never get abs, no matter how thin I got. Three weeks after my surgery, my upper abs are coming in already! As for his care; I had no questions ever, I always had a list but he answered them before I had to ask, that's impressive because I'm spastic. I had a concern one weekend and called his emergency line, he called me back in under 5 minutes and showed concern, understanding and empathy. If you're in the market for a plastics guy, he's the one to see!

I came to Dr. McMahan in October 2014 for a consult on a breast reconstruction/augment. I have tuberous or tubular breasts, a hormonal deformity since birth that makes them completely different sizes with a more 'tubular' shape. Dr. McMahan answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable before surgery. I scheduled surgery for 2 months later in December, and everything went nicely. Recovery was a little rough (but this can be different for everyone). Fast forward 1 year and I'm 100% happy with my choice of doctors and the results from surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone. *Side note: I got a second opinion from another plastic surgeon in Columbus, and when I told him who my first consult was with, he TOLD me to choose McMahan. He said, 'If you would have said any other surgeons name, I wouldn't be telling you that, but he's the only one in Ohio I would say that about.' It's clear that he is highly regarded in the medical community, and his work proves that.

After a multiple birth pregnancy and a second pregnancy (both C-sections), my tummy was never the same. No matter how much dieting or exercise I did over the years, I still carried excess loose skin in my lower abdomen area above my C-section scars. My decision to have a tummy tuck was made after much consideration. Dr. McMahan, his wonderful staff, and the professionals in the surgery center helped me through every step of the journey; and I am so very pleased with my resulting flat and smooth tummy. The first consultation was honest and informative so I knew what to expect and what my end result would be. His caring bedside manner made me feel comfortable and confident on the day of surgery. If I called with a question or concern, Dr. McMahan would personally get back to me to discuss the matter. My end result was even better than anticipated as he was able to remove more excess skin than he originally thought was possible. You are in great hands with Dr. McMahan.

I went here for Tattoo removal because they have the picosure laser and it is supposed to be the best out right now and it might be BUT the doctor only does bits and pieces of the tattoo and I know it is because he is dragging out the process to make me keep coming back so he can make more money!! I do NOT recommend this office, it's a rip off. I have a 2 inch by 2 inch tattoo so it's not like it was some huge thing that had to be done in sections either. After 5 visits I am not looking to find someone who will really remove this tattoo!!

Wow! A self-admitted 'high maintenance' patient - I was looking for the best surgeon to perform the procedure I had wanted most of my life - a breast augmentation. I had done my research, scoured the internet for reviews and asked around. One name kept popping up - Dr. McMahan. I booked my consultation and never looked back. What you get with Dr. McMahan is experience, professionalism, honesty and integrity. I trusted 110% his recommendation on size and he delivered EXACTLY what I was looking for. I feel more like myself than ever before and couldn't be happier! Dr. McMahan is no-fuss and shoots from the hip - he listens and advises. I really cannot say enough great things, I am considering another procedure and its a no brainer - Dr. McMahan will be the man! I was thoroughly impressed with my healing and pain - I am a WIMP - I had surgery Tuesday and was taking Tylenol by Friday. The office staff is an added bonus - the women are kind, welcoming and make you feel comfortable. Never did I once feel like I was out of place or simply a number. I have had other consultations with office staff who were anything but welcoming - you will feel right at home once you walk in the door. My advice: relax and enjoy the process. I saw Dr. McMahan for a facelift. He was very professional and knowledgeable and his understanding of my problem (scar) put me at ease. His office staff made me feel important and comfortable. The prominent, painful scar along the side of my eye from an automobile accident many other doctors said couldn't be fixed, but Dr. McMahan smoothed and repaired the scar during the facelift. The overall effect was phenomenal. I highly recommend Dr. McMahan.
